What’s up my fellow KZbinrs in this video I am finally getting around doing my exhaust for my 280z turbo. I know the popular opinion for turbo cars is to go and install a 3-inch exhaust. And that is the correct thing to do but, in my case, my Down pipe was 2.5 and I decided to run that. Plus is you know anything about these Z cars there’s not a lot of space to begin with and the reason for that is because the bend that the exhaust needs to do around the rear differential is a bit awkward. I bought the kit off amazon for about $100 dollars. I got the 2 v-band clamps off amazon as well for $25 and the v- band exhaust flange that goes welded on the pipe, I got that from speedway motors for about $55 for 2 sets this put me at a total of $180. I already have a welder and some of the other things that are needed for this installation. Like the rear muffler and exhaust tip I already had from the donor car that I took the engine out of, that saved me a few dollars. I chose to install the v-band clamps over the traditional exhaust flanges due to how easy these are to take off and how you can reinstall the exhaust and not need a new gasket.
My exhaust is a 2-piece exhaust aside from the downpipe if we count that it’s a 3-piece exhaust system. It’s not something that needs to be done but it’s best to do it this way just in case you have to remove the exhaust to do some work it can be done alone without help.
I am not sponsored by anyone I’m just sharing the parts I used in case you want to try to do your own exhaust.
