I just hit my goal size of 2g at the beginning of November! Your video on your stretching journey inspired me to stretch my ears. A little help for anyone who cares. I hate screw back plus/tunnels. I have had them cross thread and get stuck and then my husband has to grab the pliers and help me, and it just ends up being so painful and a nightmare. What I do when I wear them is that I do not use the backing that screws on. I just use O rings. They stay on and you don;t have to worry about cross threading or the backing coming off. At least I have never had my O ring fall off

i'm pretty sure the 'lapis' was a type of agate. lapis is super dark navy blue with gold areas, the green 'jade' were green adventurine. it's often sold as jade but i prefer adventurine. it's a type of quartz too, just like rose quartz! the different colours are due to how fast the rocks formed in the ground 😊 the turquoise is actually synthetic, real turquoise is more rare than you may expect! synthetic turquoise is still good though. the purple ines are amethyst and i thiiiiink (this is the only one i'm not sure on)that the mahogany thingy ones are red jasper? The last plugs are also not quartz! unless it's very very cloudy quartz. i'm not sure what it is, but quartz has a square sort of structure and you can see it easily if you look at it with a light behind it, and they looked opaque. pls anyone correct me if i'm wrong, i've just been collecting crystals and stones for a while now 😊

its not called "gauging your ears" or "gauge up" or "gauges". a gauge is a unit of measurement, like she's at a 2 gauge. in places where they use millimeters instead of a gauge, you'd be saying "millimetering your ears" "millimeter up" ect. aaand that's incorrect and sounds pretty silly. XD you should say stretching your ears, stretches ears, stretching kit, ect because those are the correct terms. I don't mean to be rude, just informative. :)

I personally don't see how a size 2g is such an "exciting" size to be at since it's closely similar to an ear ring resemblance. But hey, to each their own. What I will recommend if you do chose to go up is to pull on your lobes and wait patiently (which I'm sure you have) because a 2 to a 0 is a real HUGE difference. I'm at 5/8ths, so trust me, the tearing is not so pleasing.

hi just here for the people who don't know: please please do Not stretch with or even wear acrylic, it is not safe. Acrylic cannot be properly sterilized or even sanitized, and in contact with your skin it releases toxic chemicals, so even if you arent stretching please do not wear acrylic!! if you want spirals or black no flare plugs, go with glass it's totally safe. Also if you see those polymer clay plugs on etsy, don't buy those either because they emit chlorine gas and will literally rot your ears. Do your research and stay safe!! just an edit in case of any confusion: im not bashing Ericka in this video, and i cant tell you what to do, i'm simply sharing information as many people dont know acrylic and polymer clay is unsafe to wear especially for long periods of time

She wanted to be extra safe and make sure she went to a size where it was guaranteed she could close them up if she wanted to.

Actually, all of the stone ones you have besides the amethyst are glass that are colored. Turquoise have brown in them, not black. They're nice though, just not what you think they are. Doesn't matter as long as you like them. But don't take them out in the sun too much, the color will fade from the glass.
@kellymangels85179 жыл бұрын
The acrylic changes to your body temp. and when acrylic is at human body temperature it releases chemicals which is why it is not recommended for long term use. (Just a little tip: •when stretching do not use tapers they stretch too much too quickly. •When getting plugs or any jewelry for stretched ears it is best to get them in millimeter than gauge because at about 2g it becomes an inaccurate and in reliable source for sizes which is why it's best to use mm such as with your Quartz I think That's all of my little knowledge thank you☺️ )
@Valentine338 жыл бұрын

@shelbygraves54768 жыл бұрын
i use plugs and lotion. I'm at a 2 now and its worked well for me
@nikkirhys81336 жыл бұрын
The reason why the last pair of plugs weren't fitting is because the flare is bigger, however the middle of the plug is actually 2g and the flares would be 0g or 1g. The previous stone plugs were 4g, meaning the flares would be 2g, which would be why she could put them in. This is just what i think tho.

In my last comment I forgot to mention • it's best to wait a month or two when stretching for your ears to fully heal because if you do otherwise you will heal with scar tissue making it 1. Harder to stretch and 2. You will be less likely to be able to downsize • one of the best tools to use for stretching is single flared glass(no chemicals and not very porous) I am not an expert but I am giving the best advice that had been passed down to me by my ear stretching peers and professionals

I have stopped at 2g too, and i have the same double flared 'stone' ones and i don't think they are real, they feel more acrylic to me, but they aren't awful. I just bought some bone spiral ones, they're gorgeous but i can't wear them all the time. I did buy some jade ones but the seller clearly can't measure properly because they were 2mm too big. I'm looking for higher quality ones, so considering a visit to my piercing studio to buy something. Ebay and amazon sellers definitely lie about the materials they use.
