My 35mm Point & Shoot | Nikon Lite Touch Zoom

Years ago my wife was gifted a 35mm point & shoot, she must've been 12-13 years old. After some time scrounging around we ended up finding it and throwing in a battery to check and see if it was still in working condition. This bad boy still works like new!

Hey great vid!! I have a question though, I loaded my camera, put a battery in but when I go to take a picture it just doesn’t work. The green and red light flashes over and over but then no picture. Do you know why this might be?? Thanks!!

Fantastic video. Just got myself a canon ae-1 and portra 400 film. Looking forward to using it even more after this video. Where do you get your film developed and how do you get it on your computer? Maybe a video on this?

Thank you brotha! Love the ae-1, it was my first 35mm camera! Where did you get the Portra? I actually develop and process film myself, I have chemicals for B&W and Color. I then scan my film with an Epson V600, it's a dedicated film scanner. I either use their stock software to invert the negatives and get them looking good or I scan them in with their software and take it to lightroom and use a 3rd party plugin called Negative Lab Pro to do the inversion which I'm really loving right now. (It's $100 USD though.) Good suggestion, I like that idea!

Hey Melissa! It sounds like you loaded the film improperly. The E is the indicator for that. I would try to open the back up and reload!

I have the 28mm to 70mm. Who would not want 28mm in a point and shoot. My favourite focal length. The longer zoom lite touch cameras have only 35mm or even 45mm.😒

HI SPENCER! I have this camera but it happened a very weird thing. Im using it for the first time. I put the film. I think in the right way. The film had 27 “pose” (I don’t know how they’re called in English, I’m Italian), i was supposed to do 27 photos but the camera shot the 28th. Without rolling back the film itself! In the instructions sheets it is written that it does it itself. I read on the internet that it happens when the film is not put in the right way, and that in reality I did not shot any photo at all, since the beginning. So I opened the camera (in the dark obviously), but it seemed to me that the film was “scrolling”. I touched it a little bit and I closed again. Now in the display it shows an “E”. What happened? D:

Hey there! First off the 28 exposures happens frequently, sometimes you get 1-3 more exposures out of a film than what is specified. Your film should've done an auto rewind after you finished the roll so that's a little strange. If you put the film in the wrong way, you would've shot on the opposite side of the emulsion and your photos will come out "washed out and flat". When you say scrolling, what exactly do you mean? Every-time the back of the camera opens and closes, the frame counter should start at 0 if the film is properly loaded. It sounds like the camera is not registering the film since it may not be properly loaded.

I think I put the film in the right way that’s the problem :( when I touched it was well put and engaged in the carrier. And it seemed to me that it had already done a couple of turns. I don’t know if I’m explaining this well. However, I will write here if the photos came well :( thank you for your kind answer. ❤️

Hi I'm searching for a quite good point and shoot. Is this camera the way to go? Or does it have downsides?

Hi Pieter! The downsides are the viewfinder which is really small and uses a weird frame guide technique, I also am not a huge fan of the flash always being propped up no matter what. Despite that, they're inexpensive, sharp lens and super easy to load and start shooting. I also like the clamshell design, you don't get much clamshell styled cameras for cheap like this. Otherwise, I'd also look into a fixed focal length point and shoot like the Nikon L35AF or Canon AF35! It depends on what you shoot and how you shoot. You're able to get prettier looking images on those 2 cameras I mentioned since they're 2.8 apertures, but the Nikon Lite Touch Zoom is more versatile.
