I always say that our generation is the sacrificial lambs to provide better future for the coming generations. I can see now that it isnt impossible for Philippines to rise again. Many OFWs were able to send their children to school and were able build businesses. Many poor families before who are now thriving and living comfortably. We still have lots of poor people, just like any other countries. But it is undeniable that a lot of Filipinos are thriving and rising from the mud. Filipinos are hardworking in nature. Success is within our reach. God bless, Philippines! ❤

I have been to some poor areas in the Philippines. The people there were still smiling and you can see their resilience. It was inspiring that even though these people are not well to do, they are giving everything to better their lives and are content with what they have but still aiming for something better. When I gave money to some of them, they said, "Thank you. We will share your blessing with others." I have also been to some areas in the US with poor people. I saw in their eyes that they gave up. When I gave some of them money, one of them said, "Yo! You extended my life for another day." The Philippines was destroyed during WW2 and did not recover right away. The feudal system was the one reason why the Philippines did not developed it's economy. Being an agricultural country relying only in one crop or monoculture and most of the land are in the hands of wealthy landowners who are mostly of Spanish descent is not inclusive and it denies the majority of the people to improve their lives. That is the biggest problem facing every new leaders of the Philippines. You also add to the problem the business sector who do not want to increase the wages because they don't want their income to be lessened. I think what should President Marcos should do is to allow foreign businesses to compete with our local business men because they offer higher wages and that will improve our economy.

no, it was because of marcos. if you happen to check the economic trajectory of the philippines after WW2, it was actually growing healthy until marcos ruled, where the pattern was disrupted. marcos literally held the country back 50 years. and even if hes gone all the corrupt politicians running the country are adapting his institutionalized corrupt business model. a lot of people say that other ASEAN peers have now now overtook us one by one. when in reality, they didnt. our leaders just held us back and its all the peoples fault because they keep voting for them.

@rob-basАй бұрын
I have to correct you bro. Majority of the Filipinos are not POOR. Majority means more than 50%. The official poverty incidence in the Philippines is 10.9% of families. While I do not believe this, and I think that the figure is closer to 25 to 30% on the average, the feeling that there is massive poverty may be felt by someone from the 'first world' who is used to spending more. Poverty here means a family has less than P14K a month to live on. That's a mighty small amount for a first world citizen. But yes, people here can still 'live' on that amount of money, although devoid of any luxury. If you think that's being poor, yes thare is definitely more than 10.9% poor families in the Philippines. But Brian is right, Filipinos do not feel miserable on the average, even if they can't afford more than 3 meals a day and a roof above their heads.

Brian's content from the very beginning is all about his life and activities in BGC. That is "HIS CHOSEN NICHE" as far as vlogging. He has a growing market of followers and will continue to do similar contents until he decides to quit. To those who don't like them, just change channel.

@@tonybattaglio4625 other countries have no BGC. And more BGC are coming soon. I don't know what you're talking about as "the real Philippines". There's no country in the world where it's all skyscrapers. Are you kidding? 😊

Culture is less stress, sure. But the lists of why it's third-world in your intro? ITS ALL FACTS and all you mentioned is BGC. Yes, It's laughable. Not angry about this, but I'm just not a fan of FALSE information. As a filipino AWARE of the economic growth, politics, social standards, etc.. I disagree with you. If we talk about rage, i can only point out one. "We are not forgiving" the marcoses. We are just simply overpowered by social media trolls driven by poverty where the rate is 42%. As the social media capital, the statistic data that the META released before regarding fake accounts and pages + the poverty rate should be enough explanation for you. OH, NOT TO MENTION, PH got a record of lowest in reading comprehension in Asia. You can simply manipulate a single filipino without a hassle *sarcasm*. ALSO, start with the word "GENTRIFICATION" to understand how these cities that the norms so proud of works. I wanna mention as well that we are on one of the top most corrupt countries in Asia (can't remember the rank in the world tho) I know you mentioned you are not blind, you can see the poor communities, and you mentioned you are not expert in politics. BUT what you've said contradicts to one another. IF YOU ARE NOT an expert, maybe don't involve yourself about it? that's a good example I believe. Another one is BGC where mostly foreigners and RICH people live and work? Again, I have nothing against you, I just want to correct your false information where my fellow filipinos are mostly falling into. It's a third-world country based on the economic status etc, not yall foreigners' experiences.
