My $45 USD Ambilight - set up and basic walk through

I will show you the kit I ordered from Aliexpress for about 45 usd. This is not a perfect unboxing because I decided to make the video after a few friends asked for it and it was on the TV already.
Easy setup and MUCH less expensive the Hues or Govee.

Also got the L corners and led 3 pin connectors
For my 55 inch tv 360 coverage I used 5m and 60 Led kit
Had about 12 inches to spare that I cut off

TY.. Im still enjoying it.. I will give one extra suggestion is make sure to secure it to tv. My first one I let it hang and a wire inside the strip got loose and stopped working.

I set mine up about 2 weeks ago. After I did TV, I did my desk and PC monitors too. love them. Good move recommending the 90 degree connectors. I happen to have them because I'm an electrician and we use them often. My Groove set was powered by my tv's USB port so people may want to look into that as well.

Awesome instructional video! I did notice that you didn't explain how the box connects to your shield though ;) I 'assume' that you started your led strip in the middle of your tv and that's why you have the offset. I'd probably start mine in the corner and count out the leds for each side and then cut where needed for the corners. All in all a great video! THANKS

have tested these same lights on a Firestick Lite & also a Dynalink with a OTG cable attached and they work fine, if you don't have a Nvidia Shield

I can't see how it would work on a cable box. The software needs to run on Linux, android or windows to figure pixel colors

double check the 90 degree connector.. They can be a little loose or not in straight

Tnx. Great video. You say that it doesn't work with Netflix. But if I watch a Netflix series on Kodi, will it work then ?

Since kodi is what launches the show it works fine. Don't matter the show or movie or iptv through shield

@@DaButcher Tnx. I'm really interested in it. Just to be sure : I have a LG TV (55" C8) with a HTPC Intel Nuc (WN10) connected to it (mainly for running Kodi), will this work ? Because on Aliexpress site, there is a note (in yellow) saying that this item could not support LG or Samsung because they are not Android system TV. Confuses me.

@@ericbraet7931 ok the TV don't do the work it's the shield. My wife has a nuc with windows and has same kit and the setup works great. Windows does have more options and settings then my android ver. I think warnings are for people running this off android app on the smart tv
