Every time I see a new Monotrail video, I know I'm gonna be spending the afternoon down in my Synth ZONE. I'm definitely going to have to go back and re-watch the transients video. So many unique sounds with such simple building blocks!

Hey, that nice to hear! If I can inspire people to pick up instruments and enjoy some sonic exploring I consider my job well done :) All the best!

Your channel currently is the only one that never disappoints me. Many others share great ideas, too, but get boring in the follow-up clips. You are different. A real treasure of our times!

I thoroughly enjoy this "basic rack" series. I know you always show diagrams and explain patch ideas, but such a simple and "cheap" rack without bells and whistles really helps to keep focus on techniques instead of gear and just feels more universal out of the gate.

Great to hear! That's exactly what I was hoping for :) Will also spend time on topics with other racks, but so far I have been enjoying working with this setup a lot, and still have a bunch of topics I like to tackle. All the best!

Your channel has taken a positive turn in the last 6 months, full of information and inspiration, making it unique within the Eurorack world. If you haven't done so yet, I think you should start thinking about putting all this valuable information in a book. I think it would be highly valued within this community.

Thank you! Have been feeling very lucky to be able to work with a couple of great companies and modules to expand my setup. But indeed I have been looking forward to this new phase for a while. Since the start of the year I only do videos on my own ideas and topics. I enjoy it, and think it holds more value for people than pitching the latest modules. As for the book, I offer all my patch ideas as pdf sheets with explanations for Patreons, it's become a massive patch bank :) I also very much consider combining/archiving those in a more readable setup in the future. All the best!

Excellent video as usual. I appreciate that you encourage us to use what we have instead of buying a new module and also that you show alternative ways to do things.

Hey, thank you! I hear this comment more and it makes me happy. Since the start of this year I consciously stopped doing module specific videos, exactly to aim for this effect. I'm very glad to hear people get use out of it :) Cheers!

I think you always been more into patch techniques than specific modules even though you use one in the video.
@MonotrailTechTalk4 ай бұрын
Glad you think so. Even when doing videos on specific modules I liked to bring out as much 'general' patching ideas and tips. This just gives me even a bit more freedom :)

Perfect ! (as usual) That's why choosing modules with as much CV input as possible is the best choice: the possibility to add life to the sound.

Thanks! And very true. CV inputs are the key to a fun system :) All the best!

Man you have seriously helped me with modular more than you know. I just started my journey this past February and I can't thank you enough. I wish i had joined patreon sooner. So seriously thank you so much!

Hey, that's awesome! Huge thanks for joining Patreon. With a channel my size add money is useless and I stopped doing sponsored content. So Patreon support is the sole reason I can spend time making these videos :) Very happy I can help, and enjoy the modular journey!

What Eurorack modules provide “smooth random”? Thanks!!!
@MonotrailTechTalk4 ай бұрын
Hi there! Glad you ask :) I need to work on my own pr, because I completely forgot to mention. But in this video I use the module I designed with ADDAC: the 507 random bezier waves. It's a dual 'smooth' random voltage generator: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4Hbh6CbgteCpbM To be fair though, of course I love my module and designed it because I felt there wasn't a module that did exactly what I wanted, and it's great. But if you any other style of slewed or linear random that will work pretty decent ;)
@HarryKelvin4 ай бұрын
Oh good! I already pre-ordered one from PC a couple months ago. When do they ship…?
@MonotrailTechTalk4 ай бұрын
Hey! That's awesome, you'd have to check with PC. The modules are already available for 3 months. So looks like they sold out and might need new ones. I can't tell when that happens.

Interestingly many patches you showed can somehow easier being done on a Serge, than on a Doepfer. Despite Serge modulars being regarded much more complicated. It seems to me, the way you approach certain goals are rather "Serge-y". Ever tried it?
@MonotrailTechTalk4 ай бұрын
I think all these patches are pretty easy, mostly just directly modulating parameters :) But haven't had a chance to work with a full Serge System!
@sonicspecter4 ай бұрын
Too much information, need to rewatch the video multiple times to get it all! Please do more and longer videos on those patching techniques! And give us more time to listen to your patches.

Hi there! Thanks for sharing, tips are always welcome. Have to say though adjusting to a rather wide range of viewers is really difficult. I want to have a bit of tempo to not bore faster generations, be clear and thorough for people that get into modular in a late age, show music clips, but not lose viewers when showing sounds that are not their genre, and so on :) I did quite some other videos that are diving deeper into some of these topics though. The slap back and transient video. videos on envelopes and audio rate amplitude modulation etc. Just browse my channel :)
