It's my first time getting locs and I actually started mine 1 month and 1/2 after yours (Feb 15). It's been fun following your journey, it's nice to feel like my locs are growing beside someone else's instead of watching people who are years into their journey. I love seeing how my hair changes and I'm learning to appreciate it for what it is instead of dreaming about what it could be. Love your videos !!!

Thank you. I work out about 4 days a week and I wasn't sure if I would be able to maintain starter locks. I am where you are. Meaning I love my hair texture and I want to rock it. I've never felt like that before. For years, I've processed it, colored it, extensions, etc.. and never really knew what my hair texture looked like nor did I appreciate it. That has now changed. I can't believe I went all these years and not stunned my beautiful natural curls.

Your hair style is gorgeous!! I would luv to have micro locs installed. Not sure if I would be able due to the thiness on my crown. Going back to my dermatologist Monday. Ive nevet had relaxers and always had press n curls since childhood. Started going loose natural in 2005. Not sure if the hot iron messed up my scalp😢 Anywhoo, thanks for your wisdom. I just recently started my 5th and last set. I did an undercut this time before I started so I won’t have to do it once I start. I have 42locs this time which is what I wanted. Every time I start I’m like ok there going to be thick. But they’re never the thickness that I want. Now I know I had a little too many 74 is way to much for me. So this time I showed my loc stylist what I was going for a picture. She saw she gave, so I’ll keep ya posted, it will be a month for me Aug 15. I haven’t washed it as of yet I just spray with rose 🥀 water and I had some oils I’ve made added tea tree in it. I will be going for my 1st retwist in 2weeks.

You and your hair are beautiful! And you never lied about PG county and the DMV being “loc land” 😂😂😂 I installed some locs last Christmas and had to take them down this February because of the parting in my back row. I was so sad cause I was actually loving them so much but I have a huge fear of my locs snapping off 😢 and my scalp always itches. I want to restart my journey when my hair grows back out (I did a big chop-buzz cut 2 weeks ago for a fresh start) but my scalp won’t let me be great. Everything makes my scalp itch. I’ll just live through you and everyone else around me until i get my scalp figured out. And yes, I think 5 month loc updates are just right so that you can see the true changes in your locs. Thanks for the update and sorry for my dissertation comment 😂😂😂.

I absolutely LOVE my locs. My loctitian gets on me all the time because I'll wear a style for about 3-4 weeks and then im taking it down. If two ppl compliment me, its a wrap! LOL!!!! I dont go back for a pin up until its time to retwist. My hair is probably like 3c in the back and 4a, 4b in the other places. I LOVE wearing my hair down. My locs are only 5 months old. Do you recommend getting it pinned back up after I wash it?
@somethingdifferentemily24785 ай бұрын
Hi I just found your channel and I love it soo Thankyou I have appointment booked with a loctician at the end of the month. I am loose Natuaral going grey salt and pepper at the back and kind of going whitish towards the front last weekend I just did my hair in two twist to give me a break the back stays in and the sides the front of my hair it’s a lot more straighter and does not stay in I have to keep redoing the two strand twist so does a logician sometimes use two different methods for different hair types on one head the appoint I have booked is for coils I am wondering if the front will even stay in as barely does with the two strand twist so what else can be done? Also love your locks they look great and thanks for your channel

@CourtneyGrayton7 ай бұрын
You can get the look with any parting system really because it comes down to the actual maintenance. You may want to consider semi-freeform if you’re looking to keep that look permanently. Otherwise, do it like me! My hair stands up for about 3 weeks or so until I get a retwist and then it’s neater for 1-2 weeks
