I’ve been binging all your videos after taking a practice test today and it’s really enlightening and motivating thank you so much. I also decided to apply in August and I find myself falling into a lot of the pitfalls you mentioned early on. A lot of what you said made me be more honest with myself about how I’m approaching studying and what are realistic expectations for myself. Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s refreshing to hear someone struggle instead of having everything go perfectly the first time

Hey! I just found your channel and I can't thank you enough. I took my diagnostic today and got exactly the same score. I came across your video and immediately hopped on this one. I was questioning if I could get to a 170+ score, and hearing that you spent some years off of undergrad as I have, as well as that you're also a first-generation college student gave me hope. Seeing someone like myself get it done means so much to me, and I'll be taking your advice to heart as I still have a few years before needing to take the LSAT I'll definitely take my time like you said. I'll definitely keep watching for more wisdom.

Ya this test is a grind and doing it on your own can take a toll. Sending you all the best and if you’re plateauing try some new drills or reviewing a different way. Shaking up your study routine can be helpful to get you a few more points

@@tydieofficial Yeah, I've been hitting -3 to -5 for both LR and RC but I can't seem to improve from there. How would you recommend switching up drilling/reviewing? I've been just doing sections and re-reasoning the questions I got wrong.

@@oscarkuo6020 I was in a similar spot for LR and I did some drills that helped me get better and faster at reading the stimulus and didn’t even focus on the questions which helped. So if you can find drills that help you work through the stimulus that could help. As for RC I had specific question types that usually tripped me up so I focused on those and just made sure when I was reading I didn’t skim and stayed engaged in the passage. I do think reviewing what you got wrong is great tho. I did some blind review at the end so I wouldn’t look at the answers yet for ones I got wrong and would rework them and then see if I came to the correct conclusion and if I needed further help would use powerscore forums or similar pages.

Yah! So some of it was covered in the Kaplan and powerscore books I did but I have also heard if you’re just starting out and need additional review that 7sage has great resources for LG and breaks down how to set them up step by step. I usually read the rules and wrote them down in the way that made most sense to me and would adjust them depending on if the promo focused on sequencing, matching, selection, or a combination of those

I believe for 7sage they have all the diagrams on KZbin or their site for each game so as you practice with lsat LG problems you can search the test number and lg problem and they have reviews on how to set it up and approach the questions

Thanks so much for making this video!! As a quick follow up Q, how did you structure your study time? ex. did you do a practice test each weekend, blind review, and then drill throughout the week? what worked best for you?

Great question, so my typical week looked like doing section drills during the weekdays so typically one or two sections each day with reviews. So I’d usually take the section and then review what I got wrong at first but I wish I had done more blind reviews earlier on during weekdays to be honest. Cramming my week full of a bunch of reviews helped some but I would say the quality of your review will be more helpful than the quantity. Then fridays we’re like my “off” days from lsat and I’d work on other materials and stuff and then I’d take a full length practice test on the weekend. I tried to do it on the day I know my test would be and around the same time of day just so my brain was used to taking a full lsat around that time. Usually for me it would be a Saturday for the test but I wouldn’t review it until Sunday just because my brain was usually tired and the review wasn’t as helpful right after a full test. I would say if you are just starting our full length practice tests aren’t as important. It’s more important to understand what each test section is asking so I think I waited until about two months into my studying (except for my initial diagnostic) to take a full length test because if you take too many too close together you don’t give yourself time to actually review or learn any new additional skills in between them.

Would you say it is harder to hit the 170s now that logic games section is gone?

I think it would be harder for me personally because logic games was one of my stronger sections that made sense to me but if you’re good at the logical reasoning sections it could be to your advantage. Plus it’s one less format of question you need to spend time studying for. I will say it was hard for me to hit the 170s in general because I was plateauing in the 160s and had to do more detailed review of why I got questions wrong to finally bump into that 170 range.

Hello! I just followed up on the original email or text I reached out on. I tried to keep them updated throughout my process that I planned on reapplying and when I did reach out I let them know the only update I was asking for was a date and to ensure they knew I would be using their letter still. I’d they wanted to make any other updates they absolutely could but that was above and beyond what I was asking for. I don’t think if they’ve already written you one they’ll feel weird about updating or anything 🥰
