Wow dude. I do take my home for granted. I live in Michigan. Suburbs of Detroit. I live in a pretty up scale area. My home is valued at roughly $500K. I have 3300 sq feet and a full size basement of about 1200 sq feet. Giant front yard and a backyard. Watching your tour literally made me claustrophobic 😂. But if it makes you happy bro, can’t argue with that.

It's worth it if you have some goal, job, career, etc. that requires you to be in NYC and live in that location, and you can afford it. People always compare it to other places, and say you don't get much space, but if you can live decently well, and take advantage of the opportunities you can get being there, then it could be worth it in the long run.

I pay £500 ($730) a month for a mortgage for 580 SQ Ft and I live on my own in London. New York is the greatest city in the world- I went to NYU in the early 1990s, but it's now very gentrified and has lost a lot of its character. Lose a bedroom, expand the kitchen and bathroom and live on your own and that would be a decent apartment..

People who have never lived in MYC before, believe me I’ve been living in NYC for 10 years and never saw that big aprt in midtown for that price. Literally one bedroom might cost that much. Because of covid lots of people are going out of town, international students went back to there country and doing zoom classes so the apt rent went so much down! This is the chance to live in the city. It won’t last long.

NYC is turning into Detroit & I don’t wanna live w the animals when I can’t own a gun for self defense & cannot depend on NYPD to protect us! @@thisthatandthe3rd727 we’re not looking to regress back to 70s, 80s, & 90s levels of crime in NYC. Back then esp the 70s all u needed was a gun & a pair of balls, there were no video cameras but criminals did fear police. Today there are less criminals in NYC but they walk around w impunity & don’t fear police at all! Back then they had to also fear mafia that enforced their own neighborhoods to keep crime out & keep the neighborhood safe. Today criminals fear no one, mock police, police will do nothing but file police reports after crimes occur for fear of being sued & labeled racists. Do u think that they said in the 80s, & 90s that things are not that bad in NYC bc violent crime was way worse in the 1850s? Violent crime is trending way up & if we do nothing then maybe we will end up w 80s & 90s levels of violent crime in NYC. NYC is a criminals paradise today, maybe more criminals will take notice & move to NYC, I know I would

If NY is the place for you to make good money and a good life then it is an investment, this amount of rent. But people should also talk about capitalism and free market. The homeless in NY. The poor in NY. Not able to afford decent housing. Things do need to change. But hey, I understand you try to make it bigger and better, then 2400$ per month is an investment into your future. But capitalism sucks. It just doesn't suck for the relative few. We can't live our lives while looking away from those with miserabel lives. 'Economic Growth Accompanied By Worsening Social Outcomes, Is Not Succes. It Is Failure.' Quote by Jacinde Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand.
