There's no substitute for Porsche. Porsche is a driver's car, not just a garage queen. Really enjoyed the video and hearing that throttle. Always been a 911 fan since i was in grade school. The joys of being an adult, started with my 996 and now 991; the 911 regardless of year is timeless. Sports car perfection.

Love my '88. Had it almost 20 years. When the boost is loose the turbo spins. When the turbo spins, the bullshit ends. Your fresh smile as a new owner is the same smile I have every time I get in and drive. So the answer is no, it will never come off your face or get old.

Correct. Had a go in a couple year old RS3 a few weeks ago and after I’d done the launch control, flicked up and down the DSG box a few times I was bored after 15 mins. Just nothing very special about it. Just a fast, capable and very expensive hatchback.

Very correct I had an E93 M3 last year and the DCT box was too good it all felt too smooth, and not major sensation I test drove an old 996 911 which was less powerful but manual and bought it straight away and love it compared to M3

Nah Porsches can actually carry mad speed on corner entry... Watch the Porsche Cup, they trail brake right into the apex, all the weight out back means the rear doesn’t get light with all that weight back there. Yes, going into a corner hot, panicking and tapping the brakes, or lifting off suddenly will kill you, but if you plan on going in hot, and carry the brakes into the corner then taper them off, you’ll be fine.

@@Jonathan_Doe_ porsche cup cars are a whole different animal tho. I've never driven any porsche, but based on what I've been told, what I know about Porsches, and reviews I've watched, I would imagine that you could get away with driving techniques in a racecar that just wouldn't work with a street car. Racecars generally run more aggressive tires, they're significantly lighter weight, and their suspensions are usually stiffer than the street car version. As a result of these factors they have a lot more grip and can pull higher lateral g's, as well as handle a slalom at higher speeds. So a porsche that's set up for racing should be capable of maneuvers that are not possible in a street car. And it's also worth noting that there's a huge difference between a 930 or 964 compared to the more modern generations of the 911. Over time they have slowly evolved to be much more forgiving and much more capable of carrying speed into turns. The engine sits further behind the rear axle on the older cars, which enhances the pendulum effect. So really, comparing a stock 930 turbo to a cup car is apples to oranges even if you're talking about a 930 gen cup car. If you're referencing a newer cup car in comparison to a stock 930 turbo that's like comparing a fighter jet with a pontoon boat.

You’re so right re the radio. My dad had his 87 e reg Carreras sport for 20 years plus, he hardly ever used the radio - only if a long journey on motorway but not pleasurable listening! As soon as he came off motorway, radio off and the ear flaps of driving pleasure and concentration down - listening to that singer sewing machine go through its range, just amazing. You will love taking it to France - it’s great on French equivalent to single lane a and be roads! The scenic route to somewhere in Britannia is agreat trip! Then over to alps! As for brakes, no complaints on that front - they bit, bit hard and little fade!

A small tip. Fill a big black rubbish bag with sea sand and drop it in the frunk (right up at the front) to keep the nose down and weighted when accelerating out of corners. That was what we did on our 79 model. Changed the whole feel of the car. Love the old girl. Congratulations 🔥🔥🔥
