Did you get full Flexion and extension back? I mean extension is a most. But so many people claim that their Flexion is worse…
@iamolegsavka
@iamolegsavka 2 ай бұрын
@@MrBrownii13 Yes I did. I got it all back. I did all my pt exercises religiously, not skipping a day or session and it all came back. In the first few months I had to do certain exercises/stretches 4-5 times a day for the flexion/extension.

@@iamolegsavka nice!! I do have a good physio who went through the same and who is playing soccer again. I am 29 years old and I just wanna walk around without thinking about my knee. I am way too young to walk around with a limp or some kind of constant pain. Lots of people feel pain walking stairs after surgery. I was so fucking active. Even during vacation my wife and I went on hikes. Just wanna do it again!. Right now I can do everything except sharp turns or lots of weight. And I wanna put full pressure on the knee after a few months. I just love weight training and I am afraid that I can only do 90’ degree squats.

@@MrBrownii13 I am the same way lol I can’t sit still for 2 seconds. I love being active 24/7. Was very tough for me first few months so I feel your pain lol but it went by quick and i just thought of little things as wins. I did my pt non stop and did little band exercises and pullups. Also, I went on many walks and when I could start lightly go to gym that was awesome. My limp fully went away in a few months too. It progressively felt better but still weird but I am at the point right now where I feel almost 100% natural and barely notice it.

I'm going on 3 weeks post op from a patella tendon rupture and I can echo the first few days after surgery are pretty rough. I was advised to start taking the pain meds the day of surgery after surgery and omg it helped so much. That pain is borderline unbearable if you dont get ahead of it. 3 weeks post op and doing some small exercises and I'm weight bearing its alot better..tons better. Anyone with knee Injuries like these just get through the first few days post op and it gets so much better. Stay positive

I also tore my ACL and meniscus. I am not sure, if trimming the meniscus is the better option in the long run. Because I read that the more you have, the better. Which means that putting it back together and having a longer healing process could be better. But I believe the surgery will decide during the surgery and not before. So I can’t change it. And to be honest, I feel like you - having it trimmed means you can walk around on your own quicker and can start to work out sooner ( upper body at least). Btw. My surgery will be in one month. I am so afraid..

It will all be good bro you got this💪 And they originally said they needed to do surgery on my meniscus but will know more when they go in my knee. My meniscus healed up very well so thats why the stitching surgery wasn’t necessary and only the trim was required. It’s a long journey but a valuable one. Everything happens for a reason bro!

I had an acl surgery yesterday, march 13. They used an hamstring tendon to replace the ACL. They didn't put my knee in a brace, just bandages. I will have the bandages removed in two days , (or replaced?) I'm not sure. The doctor told me I can already put some weight on my knee though I try to mostly use the crutches. So far after 36 hours the pain is not a big deal but my knee still feels under anasthesia from the injection... I ruptured my Acl one year ago playing soccer.

I have meniscus tear playing soccer I been doing a lot exercises I feel a lot better my orto Doctor told me need surgery but I’m still looking for second opinion trying to avoid surgery if it possible. Do you live in USA ? What state?
@iamolegsavka
@iamolegsavka 10 ай бұрын
Hey Eric! I live in New York. So from what I have learned from my injury is that for the meniscus it really depends on where the tear occurred and how it heals. The meniscus has a very minimal blood supply but the outer layer of the meniscus gets the most rich amount of blood supply and therefore usually heals much better than if the tear is in the inside layer. My doctor had me wait 6 weeks before I get surgery for my swelling to go down, increase quad strength, and to see how the meniscus reacts. They also told me I would most likely need surgery on it but mine healed very well and ended up not needing surgery but a meniscectomy which is where they trim a piece off and obviously the ACL surgery. If I were you I would talk to your doctor and maybe get another MRI to see how it is. It would suck getting surgery but it could also be the best to be healthy and strong for your future as well. I would look into Arda Gulers injury from Real Madrid if I were you too. He recently had a meniscus injury and it has been interesting keeping track. Real has been having him do natural healing methods to see how it responds and then only surgery if necessary. Hope this helps man. Good luck and keep grinding. Everything will turn out just fine💪
@iamolegsavka
@iamolegsavka 10 ай бұрын
Also, if the meniscus is not properly healed, it could cause serious damage in the future such as arthritis. I would talk to your doctor again or try to talk to a sports medicine doctor as they are extremally knowledgeable in this field. The normal doctors didn't even know I had an acl tear and misdiagnosed me the first few weeks😂 Once I got sent to a specific sports medicine doctor, he cleared things up wayyyy more and it was extremely helpful and things made more sense.

I slightly tore my ACL on October 13th. It's a 2nd degree tear so is it necessary to get surgery? I do want to get back to playing sports as hobbies and hitting the gym regularly, any advices??
@iamolegsavka
@iamolegsavka 9 ай бұрын
Hey bro! My biggest advice would be to get an MRI and advice from a specialized sports medicine knee doctor. They will know best. From what I have heard though, as long as it is not a full tear on the ACL, it is possible for it to heal naturally in a few months. Mine for example was a full tear so surgery was needed however my MCL was a partial tear and did not need surgery. Just do whatever is necessary for you to get back to sports at 100%! Whether that means surgery or not, it will be worth it in the long term. Hope this helps bro, you will be alright💪Good luck with recovery and keep grinding. Lmk if you have any other questions!

Look for an orthopaedic surgeon who can perform “ACL primary repair” instead of the usual ACLR using a graft. Ive had both procedures on both of my knees. 6 years ago I underwent an ACLR and some sort of meniscectomy. I injured my right ACL last year and MRI showed a high grade tear on my right ACL. I did my research since ive had my left knee reconstructed before and found out about the new and less invasive procedure. Ive done the ACL primary repair on my right knee on the 15th of Febuary and 2 days later I was already off crutches 🩼 with full weight bearing (with a slight limp of course). But my God, what a difference compared to my left knee lol 😂. If you decide to not get a surgery with your injured ACL bear in mind that its going to be a ticking time bomb 💣 (granted that you’re still have an active lifestyle). Sooner or later, you’re knee will start to deteriorate inside and will eventually tear it completely. Trust me, lol ive waited yearsssss to get my left knee ACLR procedure done, doctor said that he pretty much took most of my meniscus off coz it was too damaged to even try to repair.
