Gil you definitely need a wet dry vacuum. I recommend ridgid wet dry vac from homedepot.

Dishwashing liquid is the best car wash, period. It cuts grease and lathers up very well. I've been using it since 1985. It will also remove old wax. If you wax your cars, you will want to re-wax it. I even use dishwashing liquid on really nice classic cars. There's no problem at all. What is important is to use a clean cotton hand towel or similar rag to wash the car with. But the rag MUST be clean and freshly washed, even if you wash it by hand with the dishwashing liquid just before you wash the car. Also, you never want to see much dirt in the water. If you do, dump it and start again with fresh water and lots of soap. Lather is key.

I told people that we used to use dish liquid all of the time,I remember Joy,and the cars came out clean,they say now days it strips wax,but all you got to do is wax it once in a while,I use a brush and different rags on the tires than I do the body.

Hey Gil dishsoap wont hurt the car ..... Just know it removes the wax from your paint. Walmart sells meguiars sells great soap for cars at walmart.

Dawn dish soap will not hurt the paint, but it will damage or strip any protection on the car's paint. Eventually, the paint will fade or peel off because of no protection on the paint
