MY TOP TIP FOR STARTING YEAR 11 is KNOWING YOUR CONTENT INSIDE OUT FOR YOUR MOCKS AND START REVISING IN SEPTEMBER FOR ATLEAST 1 hour A NIGHT . Time flies really really quickly , I didn’t believe it when my teachers and family said it would but now I’m relaxing and finished my exams it’s a surreal experience. Work hard now and you can enjoy your holidays knowing you have worked hard . Make notes and every night look at them .... make your self a time table and stick to it but make sure you don’t stressss yourself out too much . Goood luck new year 11’s wish you the best🧡🧡. Year 11 is tough, there is no doubt about it. There will be times where you will sit infront of your CGP revision guide and cry, there will be times you will completely shut off in a lesson because of the millions of thoughts whizzing through your brain. There will be times when all you want to do is crawl back into bed. But it is also the best year of secondary school. Your teachers want you to achieve what you want to achieve. You will be suprised just how willing your teachers are to see you happy in August. You will become closer as a year group, you will have times where your allowed to just have a silly five minutes as a recharge, your teachers will spot you if you are struggling and do all they can to support you. And trust me the 12 week summer is BANGING. Don’t worry too much about sixth form applications ( it’s a lot simpler than it seems) do not worry about disappointing mock results (nothings certain until August and even then there’s retake) do not worry if some days you just need a hug (plenty of people will be willing to help with that). Honest advice on revision, just make sure you revise for your mocks. I did for mine, then started my proper revision for GCSE's around Easter and that was fine as I already knew alot from my revision for my mocks. Try not to revise too much too early on because it stresses you out and you'll probably forget it. Just stay on top of things and try not to stress too much because year 11 honestly isn't as bad as it's made out to be xx

Qgnqt Dbd everyone has their own ways of revising, but for me I found writing notes and mind maps didn't really work and just wasted my time - but obviously it's a useful way that lots of people use to revise. Instead I literally just read through my text books over and over again until I basically learnt everything. And that worked for me as I was very happy with my results. I hope that helped :)

Just make your notes as you go along! You’ll be so thankful when it comes to actual revision for the exams! Around Easter time, it gets more hectic and having notes prepared from previous mocks helps SO much! If you’re worried about forgetting, just make short, brief notes about the topic! Also, DO NOT stress for your exams! I used to find it hard to sleep at night because I was so nervous but when it came to exams, I was not at all stressed except for the important subjects. I honestly did stress more for my November mocks than my actual exams!

My advice to someone going into year 8, is to really just enjoy it🤣For me y8 was the year where I found out who my real friends where.Many of my friendships where tested, but obviously this doesn’t always happen.This past year also allowed me to decide what my favourite and least favourite subjects were!! But also I am still kind of unsure about some and personally I think that’s ok. Honestly just enjoy y8, you have your friends and know the school. So just enjoy the year and make many good memories 😂♥️

Peppermint/ just a few things make sure you have a proper calculator and things like highlighters help to make notes and to label poems to remember for exams in year 11. Just remember that everything you do in year 10 will lead to year 11, so basically the more you listen and concrete during lessons the easier year 11 will be as you will know some information and you will understand books more if it's Shakespeare or Jekyll and Hyde. I would also ask teachers if you don't understand things as you will need it and these last two years will fly by so it's really the time in secondary to get your head down and work as hard as you can. I would also gradually start revision so you get used to it instead of all of a sudden in year 11 you are revising so many hours a week as it will come to a huge shock then that's when it makes you unmotivated

This advice is kinda controversial but as someone who’s just finished year 11 I’d say that there’s no need to stress out by doing hours and hours of revision from September because in the long term you just won’t remember it! I’d recommend finding the revision techniques that work for you early on (if you haven’t already) and then as long as you understand the work as you go along and are making clear condensed notes for your mocks, there won’t be as much reason to spend hours and hours staying up late revising for the real thing! (I regret binning my year 10 notes because it led me to cram in the days before my exams however I found that they just weren’t benefitting me)
