It’s nice to be handy! I was looking at videos to see how to operate this model washer and came across your video. All other videos from repair mechanics say this washer that you and I have are THE WORST ones to get. Affordable, but the average use is 2 years before parts start to fail. I kinda already knew it was junk, but I had to laugh when I heard so many experts agreeing with me!

This may sound crazy but I have the same amana washer with the same issue, I have replaced some parts 6 months ago like suspension rods and such I was literally just trying to troubleshoot ran across your videos I am impressed that there are women out there they fix stuff themselves like me!!! I actually went ahead and bought a new washer and dryer it’s the exact model as yours cross your fingers it lasts as long as our AMANA’s😂

My Amana washer, seemed to also stop with a whirring sound and water a foot into the tub. So, I too, assumed the water pump. I drained, took apart the pump, took apart the top piece and seen no problem. I tested the pump on diagnostic mode, ( you can check it as you did with continuity in your 1 st video ) and it seemed to pump even during a test of a wash. But, for some odd reason, it always stopped with a foot of water in the tub, then I could hear a louder grinding noise... I may have to buy another machine, this machine was near 8 yrs old... Not like the old days where a machine may last 15 years or so.

I have the same washer but when it’s empty and i shake the drum a little i can hear water inside…how do I get rid of that water? Or is that normal? Is there a filter i need to clean/change?

the only part I dont get is how you managed to get the lid lock assembly back through the hole on the lid?? its not shown and im a, looking at mine in disbelief. thanks for the vid.

Hoping you can help, seem to have the same problem. You mentioned your lid lock gave you trouble, what did you end up doing to manually release it? I tried unplugging to disengage the lock but it stays lock. What did you do to get the latch out of the assembly?

I had the same issue, I held the start button for like 5 seconds to completely stop the wash, then I unplugged the washer for like 8 to 10mins when I plugged it back in the lid unlocked so I could take the clothes out.

Thanks, this really helped me out. I was scared however since the latch on part wasnt fitting through the lock part since it was too big, but i did a bit of modding by chipping away at the latch part to make it fit and now its working like a charm 👊🏾😆

So the blinking lights thing. Those lights are flashing in real life, but they do it so fast that you can't tell. Your camera is shooting several pictures in a second to create an illusion of motion from one frame to the next, again so fast that your eye can't tell. This number is called frames per second, and the higher the FPS is on the camera the smoother is looks. Slow motion cameras are some of the highest. So, the lights are flashing and the camera is shooting at different rates. Some of the frames "catch" the light on and some frames are "catching" it off. You'll see this in some videos of old computer monitors and so on. What's really cool is sometimes the frame rate and what your filming will be in sync. Like a helicopter seemingly flying without the blades moving. It's just the rate of the blade and the rate of the camera are the same. Hope that's clear as mud

The LED lights blink because they're actually turning on and off really fast and if its matched with the camera refresh rate you will see that strobe effect. My question is why do they need to turn on and off. My only answer is that they are matched to your power grids 50/60 HZ because theyre trying to save as much money and they don't turn the A/C signal down to a proper DC signal.

Thanks for not showing how to remove or install the actual lock in the hole itself. That defeats the whole purpose of watching the video as that's the toughest part

its quite easy actually, insert the right side first and then while keeping pressure on the right side push the left side up the hole, and it should pop up.
