A Fraud? So you think a PHD theologian is the only qualified Christian artist? Did Jesus only communicate to gentiles by talking about God. No there was much more to the message like hope and love laced with stories that sometimes did not mention God. If you're not familiar with them, every figurine represents a Christian virtue or value, and each one has a related Bible verse. When Mr. Butcher described their business to me he said that he believed God called them not to be "Christian artists" or even a "Christian company." But rather artists who were Christians and a company run by Christians on Christian principles. He said that gave them greater access to a wider world of acceptance and allowed the messages of their figurines to reach many more people than if they had locked themselves into the niche of only being sold in Bible book stores and so on. In the music industry when someone puts a title on their name they’re only expected to do that type of music. The issue with that is What if someone wants to write a love song because they’re married? What if they want to write a song that speaks on politics? What if they want to write a song that tells a story about someone’s life? People would no longer consider them a Christian artist but judge then to be otherwise. That’s the issue. When a Christian artist says that we have to stop immediately judging them. We should judge then on the base of their content and not solely because they say they’re a Christian who wants to be an artist. Apostle Paul was a tent maker not a Christian tent maker, Luke was a doctor not a Christian doctor. These artists are artist whose called to use their platform to talk about all issues, deal with all types of issues as long as what they’re saying represents Jesus Christ. Now I’m not an avid Lauren Daigle fan so I don’t know if she says Jesus or not as someone in the comment section says she doesn’t, if some of her songs did not say Jesus but we’re still scripture base in parable form is that not still the gospel? Jesus used parables all the time. I am a trucker and most of the time I talk about the work I do because it has priority, not because I want it to but because it’s a necessity. When God gives me opportunity to give testimony , I do. When I can attend church, I do, but it’s not often because of my job. I don’t put my job before God but it’s no different than being a soldier, which, I’ve done that , too. Jesus commanded us not to judge by the appearance but to judge righteously. He said, with what judgement you judge you shall also be judged. We have no ability to judge a person’s faith, or conscientious intent. If you think you can, then call the prosecutor’s office and ask them if they know how to judge intent. The law makes no assessment of it. Only God knows the heart.

I completely agree. But also I understand why true believers get upset with people like Lauren. I have recently called out a "so called" Christian on her KZbin channel. I became so angry because she was beyond hypocritical and judgemental. It was over her coverage of a missing woman. I felt like it was my duty to call her out and shame her. Then I realized my behavior was worse. I realized people probably looked at me and thought, yep just another Christian thinking they know everything. Yep, another accuser. I feel ashamed but I have learned from this. I think that it's wrong to go around accusing people. Bringing information to the surface is one thing but in all honesty, no one benefits from this behavior.

Jesus used many different responses based on the character of the person/people he was talking to. You're 100% accurate that he was informative and gentle, but he certainly did not respond that way 100% of the time, at least not without also mixing in other methods. Whenever he said "Have you not read...?" (or similar) to the Pharisees, he was using sarcasm - they had without doubt read (probably even memorized) the Scripture Jeus was about to quote, but failed to understand it, despite their claims to the contrary. That's what it seems Spencer is doing here. Despite Lauren's claim to be Christian, she, at least in this interview, when the door is kicked wide open by the questions, makes absolutely no mention of Christ. The Bible is clear on the necessity for Christians to proclaim Christ, so Spencer is rightly critiquing her, if she is a Christian, on her silence - in a sarcastically informative and gentle way at that; he really doesn't make her come across as dumb or stupid at all (he doesn't mock her tone of voice or mannerisms or anything like that), just as lacking integrity when it comes to preaching Jesus as the foundation of her talent and career. To play devil's advocate, it's plausible that she did and it was cut from the video of the interview. I'm not sure how probable that is though. Just a few thoughts. I'd be interested to hear what you think in response.

(I Cor. 6:1-5) If judging is wrong, then Paul needs to confess and repent for misleading these Christians! He clearly told them to JUDGE PEOPLE. If judging people is wrong, how can we obey Romans 16:17-18? II Corinthians 6:17? II Timothy 3:5-6? I John 4:1? Friend, if judging is wrong, then God has contradicted Himself and His words cannot be trusted! Notice Malachi 3:18: "Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not." WOW! Does that sound like it is wrong to judge? What about Revelation 2:2? " I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:" Why would the Lord be pleased with these Christians if judging was wrong? Is it not impossible to find someone a "liar" without judging them? If the Bible is clear about anything, it is clear about the importance of judging on a regular basis in order to properly serve and honor God. To ignore this fact is to ignore all of the Scripture just presented and also the rest of the Bible. God expects us to judge.

I don't think I've ever heard her say Jesus' name, not just in this edited video, but ever... It's not about picking apart her every move. It's about simply questioning how someone who is "so strong" in Christ can give so many responses that have absolutely nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus, which is what a "strong Christian artist" should be doing if ever given this sort of platform. Though let's be honest, a truly strong Christian artist would probably never be accepted on these platforms, because that Christian's biblical convictions would be so outspoken that no big name platform like billboard or Ellen would want to host them. these "Christian" artists who are let in are really contributing to the whole "coexist" movement that 100% contradicts the gospel that says that believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to know God and have salvation. And how can the masses who are hearing lauren sing and speak know this Jesus if his beautiful name isn't being audibly preached (Romans 10:14)? I don't know much about her very much only two songs I've heard before and I hope in God that he speaks to her. I just keep hearing things about her. I read that someone asked her if homosexuality is sin? and that she said that she didn't know, to look it up in the bible because she was still learning and some other stuff. Some are very much afraid to be hated by the world and to have people turn their backs on them and a person that is starting (a born again) I get that, but the holy scriptures speaks on that exact thing too. We should be more worried about what God thinks of us, then what the next person thinks. She might lose fans, but she will gain more if she was to speak up and not let the industry cover her mouth with their sinful nasty hands. We need to pray for her and all people, Christians are being killed in different nations for being followers of Christ and no one is saying anything. I do agree with your statement, I do. All Christ Followers, we should give the benefit-of-the-doubt, but, also careful and w/ discernment. When an Artist has been given a public platform and the opportunity to say or name "God" "Son of God - Jesus" "My Savior is the reason of my existence" and the artists' lips never give God the Glory, it is hard to keep up believing. The Holy Bible is clear in stating that wolves are within the Church. These artists are not "babies" anymore. They aught to know Scripture, or at least, main Scriptural texts that speak louder to the heart of humanity. And Lauren Daigle has been given more than once this opportunity. The Apostles and Disciples, they claimed publicly The Son of God, Jesus, as their redeemer. Yes, we are to pray for them. But, we are to also expose them. Because, too many Pastors & Teachers and Seminary schools water-down The Holy Bible nowadays! Eph. 5:11 - which is a book that Paul the Apostle wrote - he being one that killed 1-century Christians and he then publicly and in all humbleness claimed Jesus his Lord and Savior, after his encounter with Jesus. Ever heard of the rock band RED? They're a Christian band. The lead singer, Michael Barnes, in many of their concerts, he publicly claims The Son of God and The Good News. I don't like video reports like this one, either, but, "the Christian World" is being washed down because "We Christians" do not Read God's Word and Live it! I am from Lafayette also!!! Lauren went to family life church where I often visited but I never got to meet her. I did hear some criticisms of her awhile back, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt before deciding anything. I have been saved 27 years, served as worship leader and I love GOOD Christian music BUT I also like many secular artists as well. So what? I have enough discernment to stay away from music that isnt appropriate. As messed up as the Christian music scene can be and is, there are still people who serve the Lord in it. Best place to be a witness is around the lost.. Is she a fraud? Is she pretending to be a Christian artist? Maybe.. We do need to pray that these young people be bold in their faith and NOT compromise the truth for popularity. Fame and money changes people.

I have a friend that went to a Lauren concert and she said at the begging they have other artists come out and start the show. (Usually that’s how it works) and the guy that came out was really pumped and it the spirit and praying and singing about Jesus and then Lauren came out and she didn’t say anything, she just sang her songs and left and that was it. So I think that’s really weird. But yeah I was on her website and there is nothing about faith or Jesus and I’m telling you, if it were me up there i would be saying Jesus every 5 minutes cuz it’s all about Him. And also the Bible tells us to judge righteously. We will have to judge angels and demons one day. I’m sick of this “don’t judge, shut your mouth,” society. God has given us discernment. If she was truly spreading the word of Christ, even off stage, they wouldn’t let her on stage... duh. If she was truly sharing Jesus with Ellen, Ellen wouldn’t air her. It doesn't mention sodomy in that scrip. Lauren Daigle has not said she is queer. "Sodomite" does not come from the word of God. There are laws of man that contradict God's written law. For example: Some states in America say cousin marriage is illegal. But God does okay marriage between cousins. This causes problems between man and his understanding of God. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for homosexuality and other sins. Satan worshiping and falsegods were also a problem. Lauren is safe to say she doesn't know if God hates sodomy, because the bible does not address that particular word or subject. He hates homosexuality. If she thinks or believes that being gay is okay, then there is a major problem. BUT! That doesn't mean Christians should condemn her soul, no, Jesus does not want you to do that. Instead, preach, teach and heal. Conemnation is what Satan does, convicting and saving is what Jesus does. Be like Jesus.

I went to a concert of hers this past year, and was totally turned off from her music. When I first listened to her songs , I was touched ...her lyrics sound like it's from someone who has a deep relationship with God ... but when she speaks it's like a new immature christian she doesn't mention God anywhere . There is a disconnect here and I am sure the lyrics were totally written by someone else. I also noticed that there is very little mention of God or Lord in the songs. I believe she is just a christian girl who has a good voice and has a conflicted and confused relationship with God and is probably voicing out through her songs. That's why she says she is just an artist not a christian artist.
