I subscribed thank you!! 🙂OK so I got it to play games on my SD card for my Gamestation Pro !! I didn't have to change any names just drop and play! ➡ One thing... Now that I have 2 games on my SD card when I drop more games to the SD card, my PC says: Some of these files have the same names, skip, ignore, etc. I think its mostly photo files, what can I do to fix this problem? I tried putting each game in separate folders and that didn't work, made the games not play, so what can I do ?? thank you in advanced!! 🙂

I'm all in on this one. It's beautiful and they listened to the community requests. They added the paddle and the sd card slot. If it can play homebrew roms this will be a gem of a console.

It's just a plug-and-play. And most modern plug-and-plays can run homebrew. Nothing specifically says "gem."

I'd call it a plus because its not the common type of shovelware normally associated with this kind of hardware. I expected shovelware to round things out because I knew there was a limit to what Atari had ownership of, and Activision is not likely to give them their 2600 lineup. For $100, I have no complaints about what I'm seeing.

The lack of paddle knob support for Tempest is a deal breaker for me. Which is unfortunate because there was some real missed potential with this system. Imagine, they already put an Atari Arcade section here, what if they included APB, 720, Stun Runner, and Klax - all using the paddle knob for control and the B and C buttons on the stick. Lame that they didn't integrate it better imo.

Not having Tempest control by the knob is a real disappointment, however do keep in mind that it's a free-spinning dial game, while the 2600 used a paddle that had a hard stop on the left and right edges (aka a potentiometer). And yes just to give it a mention: ONE game on the 2600, Indy 500, used a special "driving controller" paddle that was free spinning (I should know, I played the heck out of it as a kid.

I got the Atari Flashback 8 Gold Deluxe w/the paddles & to me its the best I've seen. Frostbite & Keystone Kapers being my favorite. I haven't seen a better plug & play for Atari games and this doesn't look better. Cool video tho thanks.

Bro did you see some of the extra games? Brave Battle Saga is a legitimate good 16bit JRPG from the Sega Genesis. That by itself is more fun than every Atari game on this thing. They also added Canon: Legend of the New Gods which is a 16bit Tactical RPG along with a number of classics, eliminator boat duel from the NES, Jim Power, Tinhead from the Genesis... you have plenty of Atari games on there, might as well put some other good games like these on there if you can so they dont play it for only 1 day an put it in the closet forever. Its not like the shovelware games AtGames does, a number of these are actual legitimately fun titles that piko aquired the rights to and released

@@dextersbeard3472 I don't disagree that those are good games, but the system is an Atari retro console. Most who intend to purchase this do so with the idea we would be playing Atari games. Like he said in the video, it would be the same to get Game Gear games on the NES Classic, just feels out of place. If the intention was to load up with as many games as possible, their licensing fees would have been better spent to obtain Activision and Imagic classics rather than games that never appeared on an Atari console. Those games on the Genesis Mini 3 would be an awesome edition.

If you go look at the original arcade for Gyruss it has a joystick so using one on Tempest is not as weird as it sounds. Not to mentioned modern games like Tempest 4000 use a joystick.

I think for the amount of Atari Games included the price is solid. It has a better ratio of games vs most of My Arcade consoles and handhelds with Data East pack and some of their others. With HDMI support and all those games for $100, I think I need to order one.

I am wondering how good the 5200 emulation is. For example the atgames flashback can be modded to play other Atari systems too, but it uses the libretro cores and that 5200/800 emulator has issues with emulating the Pokey. I hope you can post a video playing a few of the 5200 videos so I can listen to the sound quality.

I saw on another channel - I don't know if it's fine to mention here or if that'd be considered advertising? - where the guy got games for 2600, 5200, 7800, NES, and Genesis loaded through MicroSD, that the 5200 games just run through Altirra. Dunno if that will help answer your question.

I love mine. I'm finding it better than my Flashback 12 Gold and even my 2600+, though after the firmware was updated, which fixed some issues and made the GUI more user friendly. It also changed the way the games are on the SD card, not only allowing subfolders, but also enabling paddle games to actually use the little paddle knob instead of the joystick.

I picked one up yesterday mainly because they added the SD slot. I’m waiting for a free moment to actually hook it up. The console itself is solid, heavy and built well. The sticks are kind of cool but feel a little flimsy - that trigger button seems like it’ll be the first thing to go.

This sounds great if anything just for the paddle games. Most of these plug n plays don’t come with paddle controllers or the are bad. Tempest arcade uses a spinner controller that doesn’t stop so that is why the paddle controllers wouldn’t work well for it. You would get to the limit of the controller and then instead of looping around you would have to turn it back.

I think I'd still buy one - the non-Atari games are a little bit of a let down but the more people buy these the better the chance that additional stuff will be added to it (officially and unofficially). I'm not quite as in to it as most so I don't know how close of an architecture the MyArcade stuff is. If they could get some of the paddle type games to work with the paddle rather than the joystick that would be great too. A trackball as an option for under say $40 would be fantastic as well.

Yes, the list on the back is wrong. Star Raiders is NOT available (yet is on the list). When i called the company, the technician points me to the bottom of the box that has a disclaimer that says the list might be incorrect. WTF??? You need to pull these off the shelves!!!!! My understanding there may be another game technically not in there.

My Arcade are known for putting in "bonus games" of meh to ugh quality. They are on par with At Games business wise they promise a 5 star meal, but most of the time they serve you a baloney sandwich & a glass of Kool-Aid instead. There only saving grace is the emulation is far better then At Games Sega line up.

Atgames sega emulation is perfect from 2018 onward, using the genesisplusgx emulator. You can even add Sega CD to them. Same with the 2019 Legends Flashback

In December now, I am waiting for my $55 dollar Ebay used console. After watching another video on how to add thousands of games to include NES, Gameboy, Sega Genesis and more I decided to take my chance on a used one to add to my collection of "oddball" devices. I don't think I would pay the full price for this device, but I also did not want to pay for an Atari 2600+ because it was too limiting due to only playing real 2600 and 5200 carts, of which I have none. They often seem to use cheaper materials and the rims that they use are often marketed as the original versions of arcade games when they’re actually the home console versions of game. I just have a hard time getting behind them because they falsely advertise a lot it seems.

You CAN add game ROMs from MULTIPLE old console systems using the micro-SD slot... another reviewer (GenXGrownup) played games on it using the Micro-SD slot.

Did they adjust the code of the 2600 games to remove that horrible flickering that happens if there's more than 3 objects on the screen at once? I always hated that - very distracting. Some people say that's part of the 'charm', but I don't find anything charming about it. It stinks! Especially in games like Adventure and Asteroids, it wrecks the immersion.

But the simplistic game style, and lack of any goal (aside from a high score) is the principal area those games are lacking in (2600). The NES era: the games were more complex, and most had endings to work towards. Not to mention the 2600 sounds are all variations of white noise or static..

Yah, I had the Tele games version of Atari 2600, but I'm with you, I grew up with those simple, clunky games as a kid, but we grew up and technology in gaming advanced as time went on. My friend was the first I knew to have an Nintendo system. But yeah I don't understand a lot of these fanatics obsession with the 2600 games because many of the games are just bad really , if I never played them again, I wouldn't care. Lol Its just some have such huge nostalgia and sentimentality over the old vintage stuff, I understand, but after I got a Original PlayStation way back years ago, man an entire new world of incredibly detailed and complex games were revealed to me that I had no idea about as I just had not played much game systems for years after highschool, I was just too busy with work. So when I finally could afford to buy the PlayStation and a new big TV, I was all about that and played it loads. I never bought an XBox, I almost did get a used one of the first gen Xboxes but I was kind of in an apathetic depression period and I just didn't have any desire to play anything for periods of time. So now I'm kind of getting back into games must lately. I bought a new GSP for about $52.00 ,which is nothing compared to what I was spending on boardgames stuff.

It doesnt say 200 plus Atari 2600 games especially when theres no Activision, M Network, Imagic, or 20th Century Fox or Parker Brothers titles on here. Good thing it has that card slot so possibly you can add those youraelf. The gamestation has all that are licensed but my question is can you add a keyboard on here since atari 5200 games need a keypad

Got one at Costco, returning it, No Pole Position, No Kaboom, No Pitfall. Paddle turner is leggy or jumpy. Sadly disappointed.

Costco got it for less than 80 bucks, if you don’t like it return or if it breaks! can’t go wrong with Costco winter is coming I don’t mind chilling playing this old school game. 👾

thanks a lot for the review, these non ATARI games are simply a deal breaker for me. I'm an Atari Fan, so if buy a product about ATARI, i don't want something else mixed up with it. If i want to play NES or SNES game i will go for another device.

They should have just said, "Over 100 Classic Atari games + Bonus games" or something. I think Atari fans would be happy with 100 games. Ah well. I have an old 2600...but to be honest, the games didn't age that well and I don't find myself with any desire to go back and play them. Still, it's nice to have for nostalgia.

Weighting the console is a great thing as it will make you less likely to yank the console off your tv.
