Glad I found your channel. I'm an avid video game collector, and given the bevy of consoles & handhelds behind you, I suspect you could do quite a few interesting game reviews over time. I'll have to check out your library. Keep 'em coming and be well . . .

Edit: This is for Bubble Bobble 1 Have you tried the "Start->Select" to bring in your brother? Also what about LVL 200?
@DeedleTech5 жыл бұрын
Howdy! I have finished it on Super Bubble Bobble as well. They bring in the brother right at the end to steal some of the glory! Ha. As far as your suggestion. There isn't a "select" button on these. Just a start button!(the button next to it is a "reset" button). Thanks for watching!

@@DeedleTech Ahh... gotcha. I am debating on getting my daughter this to practice on. I turned her onto the 1986 Cartridge Bubble Bobble in my Big Block NES, it was one of my favorite games growing up and now its one of hers. Its our "Daddy-Daughter" thing!!

@Sean Pasnick Cool I like to hear stuff like that. So many memories of playing this game with my siblings. Like yours, my own kids are getting into it. It is pricey for a handheld considering there are tons of China clone options out there. But to me, this was well worth it. Especially since they kept the continue system. This is probably my favorite of the bunch!

What is that green handheld over your right shoulder? It looks like a knockoff PSP. I saw this elsewhere and was wondering what version of the game they went with when building the thing. I like the lemon-lime color scheme, the rainbow bezel, Bub on the right, and those translucent buttons, but I'm disappointed they went with the NES ports. I guess it would have been hard to keep Rainbow Islands intact and not be sued for the music, but they could have modded the game like they did by allowing the good ending of BB1.

Thanks for watching! Yes I did a review on that Green Handheld as well! See it here! kzbin.info/www/bejne/enO5lIOgl95-q6M Yep to each the flavor. I don't mind the NES version of bubble Bobble. But I like the arcade version as well though! Thanks for subbing and watching!

@@DeedleTech Thanks for the link. No thanks on that other handheld--$7 or not. I wonder what the Chinese clear after parts, labor, packaging, shipping, etc.. It can't be much. The screen tearing on this Bubble Bobble handheld is a bummer. I wonder if it could be re-fitted with a different screen or easily re-purposed. Maybe I can find one for $5 somewhere.
@DeedleTech4 жыл бұрын
Lol. Yea I agree they can't be making that much on it. As far as the Bubble Bobble. You only see the tearing when moving screen to screen or playing the side scroller. Any static screen is fine. Unfortunately they use this screen in all of there My Arcade handhelds. But yes, keep me informed if you come up with a better replacement screen! Thanks again!
@WhatsOnMyShelf4 жыл бұрын
@@DeedleTech I'm curious what this and the green console look like inside. You mentioned the green one has no screen tearing, but this Bubble Bobble one does. Have you ever taken a screwdriver to the green one? What is the diagonal screen width of the green screen?
@DeedleTech4 жыл бұрын
@@WhatsOnMyShelf The green handheld is 2 inches. So not very big and it's horrible resolution when it comes to playing with the actual games. Inside there isn't much other than a normal PCB board and proprietary ribbon connector for the screen and the Chip itself is all Epoxy in. So not a whole lot of mods can be done with that. But given the price I paid, I didn't have high hopes. Ha!

I had to order mine as well. I don't think any Walmarts are carrying them.
@DeedleTech5 жыл бұрын
I agree. I know in the past that the Walmarts out of town from me, carried the Pac-Man, Ms Pac and Galaga. But that is it. My "in town" Walmart only ever carried the Pac-Man. And has quit carring quite a few "My Arcade" retro stuff. Weird. Anyways, glad you are able to score one! Thanks for watching!

God I hate the NES version. One of the most interesting aspects of Bubble Bobble is how you need to be at least 8 pixels away from a wall in order to NOT immediately pop the bubble. Thus, it's impossible to jump on your bubbles unless you have at least 8 pixels clearance from the wall, and thus it's important to avoid getting trapped in places without that clearance. The NES version lets you jump on your bubbles even if you have no clearance. It dumbs down the game so much.
@DeedleTech3 жыл бұрын
Well as they say "Different strokes for different folks"! But I do agree, that I love the arcade version better. And while the NES version was dumbed down. I find it's still one of the better ports. But that is still some nostalgia talking for me as well!! But I did not know about the 8 pixel count though, Very interesting! Thanks for watching!

@@DeedleTech What ports would you consider worse than the NES version? I have only played the Atari ST and Amiga versions (both NTSC), and I consider them a lot better.

For those who want this for Bubble Bobble part 2, don't bother. It's extremely buggy and unbeatable due to a glitch on round 60.
@DeedleTech4 жыл бұрын
That is good to know. I haven't played it to level 60. Well that is disappointing! Why is it so hard to for some decent testing before shipping. Thanks for letting us know!
@SuperJumsNelson4 жыл бұрын
@@DeedleTech I have no idea, in fact I'm almost certain no testing was done on that game aside from loading up the rom, because I noticed platforms that were _supposed_ to move, don't 5 minutes into playing. My best recommendation for people who want to play the game is to buy a reproduction cartridge (mainly because this is a rare NES game, going for $400+ on Ebay).
@MoonCloud2173 жыл бұрын
oh no 🥺 however isn't there a risk the repros also have the same bug?
@SuperJumsNelson3 жыл бұрын
@@MoonCloud217 I ordered a reproduction cartridge off Etsy a while back, and it runs perfectly on my NES. It may differ depending on who you get it from, I'm not sure, but in my personal experiences, reproductions like that are a good alternative.

In a time with many Chinese clones and other handheld emulators/console modding choices, I can understand why this wouldn't fit everyone. This is however fully licensed. Something that most of the clones and such are not. So I chose to review it as a licensed product. That being said I absolutely agree with you that it is way over priced! Thanks for watching!

So nice for us that don’t or can’t mess with emulator versions. I used to play the original arcade, love the nostalgia.
