I loved seeing this! I’m planning a 3 day trip to Arizona for hubby and I next April. We live in North Dakota and will want some warmth and sun after a long winter. Thank you for sharing!

Oh yes, Arizona will be perfect! April was such a good time - not too many crowds, nice warm weather, but not too hot - it's just the BEST!! ☀️🌵

Thanks for sharing this. Binge watching cacti vids at 1am. One day I will get out there. I have over 300 cacti and currently growing a few hundred more from seeds. Trying to grow Arizona in upstate NY, 6 months outside, 6 months in my basement during winter ;)👍

I love cacti too! Arizona is so beautiful! I can't wait to go back. I live in Utah and we don't have the big saguaros here!

I love the saguaro cacti as much as you do, although in full disclosure I have never met one in person... Great video as always! 🤙🏻

I saw one for the first time 10 years ago, but didn't see them again until this trip. It was totally worth the 4-hour detour! 😁🌵

There are so many beautiful hiking trails near Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah etc...why the heck am I living In the east. Where I live there are decent hikes but from what I’ve seen in Pictures and videos, they’re nothing compared to the mid west

I love catci so much! I go to the desert every winter for backpacking! Are those bedrock sandals? if so how do you like them? I need to get a new pair of 'camp shoes'

I absolutely love the bedrock sandals! My boyfriend has a pair, and he loves them too! Highly recommend.

What camp chairs do you have/recommend? My car camping space is very tight and we had to leave the folding beach chairs at home on our last trip so I’d like to find more compact options. Thanks!!

Hey! I plan on visiting the area in April. Do you have any resources I can check out? Haven't done much planning yet. Can you recommend any amazing areas without crowds for car camping or backpacking? Was this also in Saguaro National Park? If not, where do you think is the best place to see the catci plus backpacking or car camping? Looking for epic views/off the beaten path and soltitude. I couldn't find a blog post about this. I live in Seattle area so trying to decide if I should drive vs fly/rent car. I wish I was closer! It's about 20 hours one way from me. Love this video and all of your content as always!

Hey Amanda! In this video, we drove from Utah down to Sedona, AZ first, and spent a few days camping and hiking there. It was beautiful and I would love to go back, but there are definitely a lot of people. From Sedona, we drove to Prescott, AZ. On the way we stopped and did a hike called The Crack at Wet Beaver Canyon and it was awesome. Prescott is such a cute little town with good camping options and less crowds. From there, we drove to Nothing, AZ to camp and see the cacti. We kind of just got lucky with discovering this area. It was really beautiful to see the cacti, but just know that it’s really hot and there’s no water and nothing around! We spent 1 night camping there and then drove up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for a day, and then made our way back to Utah. If you do want to visit the Grand Canyon, the North Rim is significantly less crowded than the South, and there’s lots of free camping in the forest North of the national park line. The Vermilion Cliff national monument is another area that’s worth exploring if you want to avoid crowds and that’s closer to the Utah/Arizona border!

@@amanda.outside Thanks for this info! Could you send me your email? I'd like to pick your brain some more. Do you know other areas to see the cacti? I know there is Saguaro National Park but its kinda far from that area and my main focuses are to see the GC and Cacti! What time of April did you go? Thanks so much for all of your help! I wish I was closer to your area, but it just makes it nicer to visit for a longer period of time!

@@alpineamanda I went in mid-April. In order to see the cacti, I think you have to go to southern Arizona. There aren't any around the Grand Canyon, so it might make it hard to do them both on one trip without a lot of driving. If you go to my website contact page, you can send me an email through that! amandaoutside.com/contact
