Hi , I'm happy to share new pages of my art journal I created in France last Summer!

I will show you the difference in working from within, and working from reality. I also share with you how I use some items I collected during our journey, like hand written postcards, pieces of a beautiful wine box and business cards. And listen carefully, while I'll read some poems for you!

Dream Landscape
This landscape is one I saw with my eyes closed. Sometimes it's just the way I want to make art: from within. I also wrote a poem:
I haven't put a house in it yet
This landscape needs space
To flow through
And I want a river
Give me water nearby
So that I can always swim
And always feel surrounded by water
And that I can always get lost in it
And oh yes give me flowers, and trees
Just a few here and there
And then a forest
Where you can walk for hours
With a green meadow every now and then
And cows
And hay and the smell of freshly cut grass
It doesn't have to be difficult
I'll just walk next to you
Uncomplicated, everything is fine
We're going to the creperie
And we'll eat the most delicious pancakes ever
I'm alive
Using items I found along the road
In the following pages I incorporated some items I stumbled upon during our trip. One of those is the lovely wine box, that I used in one spread in my book, becoming the eye-catcher of these pages. I also bought a handwritten card with goat cheese and the menu card of a First Communion at one of the flee markets in France. The final thing I used in one of my spreads is the card from the artist Nicole Guilliem, who creates wonderful artwork with water colour, enamel and lave stone. I use the things I found completely and don't want to cover, as they're so inspiring to work with. They have been a guideline for the pages, colourwise.
More abstract pages
The longer I work in a journal, the more abstract pages do come up. A lot of portraits appear, as well as patterns, faces in trees and collages come up.
The second poem I wrote goes like this:
The art is not to cover up
Not even with art
Not to hide behind a false identity
It can only be real and pure
The art is to show your true face
And to be completely honest
in your art and your whole life
This is the poem by Mary Hunter Austin
Man is not himself only...
He is all that he sees;
all that flows to him from a thousand sources...
He is the land, the lift of its mountain lines,
the reach of its valleys.
Back to reality
And of course, I added some experiences from landscapes we saw on the road, like the sunflower field, the mountain with a lonely chapel and the view we had at the duck farm.
