I want to be a host family but I am a bit nervous because we aren't the best of cooks & our house is a little small. I'd hate for her to arrive and hate our food bc she's used to amazing European food. I'm on youtube watching videos like this to see what I can do to be a good host mum.

@WhereTianaTravels
@WhereTianaTravels 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes, honestly it was a bit difficult, because technically you’re not allowed to work elsewhere in France with the Aupair visa. So you have to find other methods like teaching English for cash, or finding ways to make an income online. It can be difficult to find opportunities but it is definitely doable! I am planning to make a video about it soon :)

The second ladies vibe was what made the second experience not so great. Her attitude destroyed everything and she did not seem like a safe, kind person. Super inconsiderate, unkind and mentally unstable.This was all on her. As an adult she knew better and should have treated you with more kindness understanding and empathy. Sounds like she may have been low-key a narcissist or sociopath.

Question, you said the au pair visa only allows you to work as an Au Pair but now you're in you're own apartment working full time teaching English. Did you have to switch visas? Do you just have to make sure you're working as an Au Pair for a certain amount of times a month? You mentioned an Au Pair visa means you can't do anything but do Au Pair so you were unable to do regular work after your first host family but then at the end of the video you said you basically moved out and now are only working remote full-time. Can you elaborate on this?
@WhereTianaTravels
@WhereTianaTravels 2 жыл бұрын
Forsure! On the aupair visa you legally can’t work in France as anything other than an aupair, but since I was teaching for a U.S. company and it was online I was able to bypass that

Interesting. The lady who terminated you in 4 days may have noticed the energy or vibe you were giving off because you mentioned in this video that the boys were kind of annoying you. We don't know sometimes that the way we feel when it comes to being annoyed or uncomfortable is exuded throughout our body language and some people can feel that uncomfortable or annoyed energy. You didn't connect with the family, they didn't invite you for dinner. That already creates a distant and disconnect. Good thing she terminated you. Because you want to work with a family, not for a family, who will include you, especially at the dinner table. When you're happy with a family , a good friendly one, it shows through your energy

Chill😭 The lady is obviously an adult, if she felt like the connection was off, then she should’ve communicated with her and give her a solid and well constructed reason as to why she feel that way. You could tell she didn’t really want an au pair from the start. And I’m also glad she fired her, bc she doesn’t deserve to have someone work or live with her
