Bp is usually the most expensive and it's 97 octane Shell v power is 99 octane Tesco 99 has additives so it's proberly the second best.

It's eye watering how much it costs you to run the RS3!! £769 a month + £110 a month insurance + £90 a week petrol (£360 a month ) = roughly £1239 a month!!! Without a service cost each year on top is...... staggering!!! But as you have said in previous vids......you can afford it!! but to the man on the street that's madness which ever way you look at it!! IMHO

The costs are outrageous, he could have a v8 R8, jag Ftype and many more at similar to less costs. Plus he'd probably have change left to buy a cheap daily to get him to work and back. Also cars such as the V8 r8 will deprecate much less if any. It blows my mind that some one on his salary clearly doesn't understand that he could do much better with his money. Just on insuring and financing the car it will cost him 30k over 3 years. For me an A3 with a decent engine is nowhere near the calibre of cars that cost 30k over 3 years. This car is great as a 2 year old car at 30-35k but what it cost new a new Rs5 for instance is actually cheaper.

Yeah......my wife went nuts lol. I went from a Subaru to a polo gti to a RS3. Slightly cheaper for me as I played a bigger deposit but it's a grand per month plus 701 quid annual insurance. Smiles per miles I guess. The supercar for the working family man.

I would highly advise keeping an eye on this oil situation. I had an S5 full engine replacement due to over spec on the oil consumption. Ended up using a 1Ltr per 500miles! TFSI engines are notorious for oil consumption issues unfortunately. Also highly advise NOT going for the 'flexible' service schedule. Go for oil change every 12month/9k miles. These cars like fresh oil.... you can never change it enough.

Nice video Daniel. Everything is for a season! Enjoy it while you have it! Just switched our family wagon from a Civic Type R😂 to a VW touran😎. Holiday memories and mountain bikes are the flavour of the current season. (The type r will be missed, was extremely reliable and whilst having two isofix points, it had reached the end of it's usefulness in our growing family... )

You might be unpleasantly surprised by servicing costs - for my RS4, I pay quite a lot more than the number you quoted, at the Audi dealer in Aylesbury. I’d be surprised if the RS3 was significantly less.

Looks like you have an oil leak in the engine area - I would get that checked. I have just had my RS3 oil service - just over £300. As you said, rip off oil price from dealer. You can get Castrol edge VW504 spec for £44 for 4 litres in many places. I too have has an S3 and now an RS3. RS3 is a better car but a lot more expensive to run - but is sound nice (no fake soundaktor; just real 5 cyl !). The RS3 (mine is 2015 pre facelift) is a bit front heavy and is not quite as accurate to steer as the S3. Latest RS3 is lighter - but that costs even more !

Hello again Daniel. Continental contisports are great on S3 so I'm sure great on stock RS3. More deeper tread than pirrellis and not as stupidly soft. Makes sense for road use no track days. And cheaper too from Universal tyres Croydon😉

These vlogs are great for the 'real world' folk. I really didn't think there was much different between rs and 's in stock form. I think the S3 is enough. It has bags of power and practical for what I need daily for a work horse. Oh and do you sell green wheelie bins? There does seem to be a slight contradiction here in terms of the fuel mileage you are getting. You quote 325 miles to a tank, and yet it costs you £60 to fill up with super unleaded, and you’re getting 21mpg. That sounds like a lot less than 325 miles to a tank and closer to around 225 miles to a tank, or perhaps just a slip of the tongue?
@mrdanielknight
@mrdanielknight 6 жыл бұрын
I think I understand the confusion now. I obviously didn’t explain this clearly enough. 325 miles is what the car quotes as a full tank; the reality is much less than that.

Mr Daniel Knight ok that's possibly why your mpg is not great I average 25/26 And my set up is also individual engine gearbox on comfort, suspension on comfort, engine sound on dynamic and steering on dynamic because I like the heavy steering and I set my traction on sport mode to add to the heavy steering and better road handling. I believe having the engine set to dynamic is the same as just driving the car in dynamic and this uses a lot of mpg give my suggestions a try if you want.

Richard Janes 1 second ago Dose not add up Daniel. 325 miles per tank @ 21 mpg. £60.50 @ 4.546 ltrs to the gallon @ £1.14 a ltr so that's £5.18 a gallon so £60.50 divided by £5.18 = 11.67 gallons. So according to you £60.50 gets you 15.47 gallons. interesting. You earn 70K a year and you cant do simple math. Some people may buy this car on your fuel consumption figure. I own a 2014 2ltr diesel A3 which averages 35 mpg and cost £57 to fill the tank and dose 330 miles each fill up. Please do a video on this item i'm sure people would be very interested........

Just ran your plate through We Buy Any Car - and they'll pay £29,155 for your motor. If you paid £50k for it (if you did - you had the hole ripped out of you) - and only paid £2k deposit on a 4 yr deal - assuming 3% flat rate - that means the balloon payment at the end is only about £15k. 2 years payments equal about £18.5k - which is when you said you would think about trading it in for an RS4. So - £54k financed total - less your payments = about £35,500. The retail value of your car at that time 'might' be as much as £32k - which means that your dealer will offer about £30k max - even trading for an RS4. Do you really still think that your Audi dealer will take a hit of a mimimum of £5.5k just to get a sale of an RS4? - I think not!. What's really going to happen is that you'll have to suck the negative equity to get rid of the car - and it'll have cost you £24k just to have rented your RS3 for two years - which excluding running costs works out at a juicy £1k a month, add your insurance, and other running costs, and you'll have just given away about £1600 a month for the privilege of driving this. You're NOT on a £70k salary as trainers just don't make this kind of money - but let's assume you're on £50k max. Take home that's a tad over £3k a month. Less £1600 a month for your car = £1400 a month to pay your mortgage/rent, food, clothes, holidays, etc and look after a new baby, AND that's not even including putting cash into a pension for your retirement. Do you see where I'm going with this?. You might think that you can afford this - but the reality is that you can't. You'll get the finance for an RS4 no problem if you've been keeping up with previous payments, but one day they'll come and take it all away from you as you will default at some point in the future.

If I were that stupid I wouldn’t be in a position to finance the car in the first place. I’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this place, travelled all over the world for weeks at a time. Comment whatever you want about the car but you don’t know me, my work ethic or how much I pay for my bills. You think that because I told you how much I earn and how much I pay for my car that you suddenly know everything about me. I keep some of my personal business to myself.
