He’s lightly down stroking the low E in the intro to add the subtle bass note and upstroking the chord. This is the proper way to play it. But I think your main point is he’s playing it correctly and you are right. 👍

@@toypianos469 Haha yeah... he is just trying to hide his gained weight, while still trying to look different and interesting as always. Man, it just reminds me of how old i am getting. It literally seems like only yesterday when i was young, and jamming out to the Siamese Dream album on cassette tape first, because i still had a Walkman 🧡 and then finally getting a Discman a year later. Having that Pumpkins CD was so amazing. i played it until i could sing the whole album in my sleep. Do you remember Columbia House back in those days? You got around 10 or 12 CD's for free, and then you were required to purchase some more at full price until the terms were up 😸 Well i remember that i was 13 years old in Southern California when i did that for the first time, and the feeling of PURE BLISS when the CD's arrived.. god it was so cool, especially back then in those days of course. I got the Pumpkins album, and Weezer, the blue album, also absolutely epic and one of my favorite bands of all time.. and then the Ace of Bass CD, and the Oasis CD with Wonderwall.. and also The Cranberries, also one of my favorite bands of all time, and the first Garbage CD, also the first Everclear CD. Man.. good times. Better days ❤‍🩹

@@Xuevium hell ya. I had the walkman. I still had a discman until my friends snapped and got me my first iPod. In middle school SP released Melancholy and had to wait until Christmas to get it. Almost went crazy. Good stuff. Funny you mentioned Everclear. On my streaming (KZbin) I discovered their first record (World of Noise) was remastered in 22. Been jamming it this week.

Yeah I also get the idea that Billy is intimidated by talented males. You can see he's always surrounded himself with passive men (Iha, Pajo, Schroeder) or female collaborators. So it tracks that he would pick a female for this. Jimmy is the only one he can really meet 'on the level' man to man. I'm as tall as him so I probably would've never been chosen haha.
