Juane’s hyper fixation on saving everyone so much is what makes naming the paper pleasers after his friends so sad. Jaune and the paper pleasers is actrually very similar to a caretaker trying to help an eldery dying parent. They are slowy losing their health, and they is nothing that can reverse it, but no matter how much they wish their caretaker would just let them go, there is no way they would. The caretaker would do ANYTHING to help them in any way they could,no matter the toll it take on themselves, no matter what anybody says.

I think this hits harder knowing that jaune was ruby’s only support pillar ever since vol 3. He stood by her every step of the way even when wby left ruby and doubted her plans (even when they forced the role on her). Now he’s broken and she’s broken there the only two people who haven’t had a proper break to rest and reflect on their trauma properly unlike everyone else. I think it really highlights how little attention wby showed to ruby since even ren and Nora saw jaune breaking and helped him a bit same with Jaune trying to help ruby in previous volumes. It’s gonna have to be up to wby next ep to heal ruby so she can heal jaune.

"We can't count on him." My guy has survived the woohoo wonderland for decades, prepared as much as he could for their arrival despite his tight schedule, and finally has the time to fully explore everything on his own and obtain a lead back home that doesn't potentially require human sacrifice and all he's counting on is team RWBY to help look after the village that's offered and given them nothing but hospitality. Jaune's just asking them to hold the fort and prevent a cult suicide while he's gone, and they can have a much-needed breather after the chaotic events that have transpired over the past few days, and when he comes back they can discuss any potential leads from the amount of information he can gather. While Jaune isn't exactly right for them trying to prevent their "ascension", at the same time, Jaune sees it as such because the tree took Louis and hasn't seen him since, especially since he was left out of the story, and maybe getting accustomed to the people that help you constantly commit group suicide wasn't exactly a comforting idea. Who knows how many times he actually had to watch that too, because he had to see it enough to know and predict what they'd do. Having to basically watch people die on loop isn't an idea anyone would ever want to get accustomed to. Even if it's normal for them, basically being told that it's okay to let them die since they'll just come back isn't exactly a comforting sentence. But the only one who hasn't come back was Louis. So his worries aren't _that_ unreasonable. I get that they want to go home, and that's completely understandable, Jaune probably wants to leave more than anyone since he's been there longer than anyone, but they really need to take a minute to calm down and properly process everything efficiently instead of acting immediately on assumptions. But still, not gonna lie, that was a little disrespectful to Jaune. The guy's been doing his best for decades and all he was asking was to help him help them.
@EngineScypex Жыл бұрын
"All he's counting on"? He spent years, maybe even dacades and has not a single clue on how to get home - also he lied about having a plan to get back (he at best has a plan to research how to get back). He wants 4 of them to hold the ford for him to further look around. Yes, he might be longest in the ever after, but that still doesn't mean he knows and uncovers everything. And he's not exactly the strongest and most intelligent person by a mile in the team. And not only that: If you look carefully on the to-do list, it seems even "helping Pyrrha study" is more important then finding a way home.
@nobuffer101 Жыл бұрын
@@EngineScypex And they had nothing to work with except a children's book that ended up being wrong. Jaune willingly volunteered to survey the land and gather more information than he could before since he was so focused on preventing the people who have shown him nothing but hospitality commit cult-suicide. He doesn't have a solid plan, but it's a far cry better than anything team RWBY could come up with. He's offering to gather information across the ENTIRE land, and they just have to make sure the paper people don't drown themselves for a like week and help them with their homework. They get a much-needed breather, rest, and can focus on their next move while only needing to do a chore list that one person can do a day, and 4 can do in an afternoon. They can even split the effort to be more efficient. In a situation where you are in DESPERATE need for information and cannot risk exploring the unknown, when the guy who's been there for decades, knows some, if not, most of the ins and outs says they can finally focus on reconnaissance and information gathering and is much faster on his own so they can take a break and do a few little things a day. Just take the plan, they need a break, and Jaune needs some fresh air to focus on a new goal. Let the veteran offering to scout, cook. Because it's much better than walking off on your own without knowing what you're doing and where you're going. They might not count on him to "fix all of their problems", but they can count on him to know his way around and explore efficiently, since again, he's been there for years, and come back with at least some parts of the map they can cross out so they don't pointlessly explore someplace. They "can't count on him"? Jaune has been doing his best for decades and when he's finally reunited with his friends, he immediately offers a plan that is meant to help all of them get home in a safe and rational manner, and instead of waiting, plans to leave immediately so he can get finish and get back faster. They really got to have some faith in Jaune, instead of immediately looking for an alternative. Time away from the daily cult suicide, and actually being able to focus on helping his friends is what Jaune needs to get his mind back on track. Not "we can't rely on you, so we're gonna go back to the cat we met two days ago who basically killed the child you failed to protect."
@EngineScypex Жыл бұрын
@@nobuffer101 The book doesn't state only truthful information or even every information gained, but can still give indications. Jaune volunteered to survey the land, demanding that all of them in return do his "job". I'd say 4 people instead of 1 makes up for him initially being maybe a bit faster, because he knows the world better. He has NO plan (at least if we're talking about getting back) and he claimed that he had one. How did it end when Oz lied to them? And his plan is better then anything RWBY could come up with? Until they met Jaune, they wanted to go to the tree. And for all we know, that most likely is the correct way. Jaune is completely opposing the plan, just because he assumes that Lewis ascended there. But the thing is, like you said, the book didn't tell the full truth. It's totally possible that not Alyx but Lewis was the one got back to Remnant. It's totally possible that even both got back. Sorry, you're talking about days and weeks. Might I remember you that Jaune is likely for DECADES there already? Depends on what you call a veteran. Jaune might be the longest in the ever after, but that doesn't mean he is good at what he is doing. Who tells us that he didn't already rush over things that might be useful / important and we just don't know it? Just a reference to the real world: I've seen a lot of trainees who come up with extremely good ideas or even do overall a better job then people who work 30 years on their job. Just because he is "doing his best" is not an universal excuse for everything.
@nobuffer101 Жыл бұрын
@@EngineScypex I meant veteran by comparison. The guy who's known the land longer than they have. Also, the importance of gathering information is that you use that information to MAKE a plan. His "plan" is to gather information so they can make an actual plan. Something that has, and will, always work. Jaune has been there for decades and has still explored far more than they have. And with this "schedule", he's probably only had about 1~2 hours a day to explore, so given how far he can go and how long he can stay within that time period, he has been limited to only doing so much. He has a detailed map of the surrounding area, so the others could probably explore in depth in their free-time, while he handles the long-distance surveillance. There has never once been an instance where scouting ahead and gathering information has never worked in some regard. If you find a dead end, you know what path to avoid. If you find something promising, you can mark it down for further exploration. And "doing his best" isn't an excuse. I'm just saying that Jaune is still trying to be helpful and is actually doing his best to be efficient and effective in getting them all out safely. And saying he's "unreliable" and they should leave and go to someone else, who Weiss herself points out is NO ONE, instead of actually trying to help their FRIEND, is a little uncalled for. And I'm saying "days or weeks" because Jaune isn't doing a single trip. Gathering information and relaying it is important. You're gonna have to go back every now and then so upon every return they have more information for a more accurate map. And in this whole "wonderland", the only person they can really trust is either their friend or a cat who openly admitted to lying to them on purpose. It's like when Gollum was Frodo and Sam's guide to Mordor. Frodo and Sam don't know where they're going or really who to trust, but by your logic they would be fine going to Mordor on their own and they don't need help because everything is gonna be okay. Even if the tree IS the way out, because of Jaune's experience and Curious' ambiguity, human sacrifice is on the table. And if it's on the table, it's shouldn't be ignored, because it's HUMAN SACRIFICE. Worst-case scenario, it's one-for-one. Best case scenario, Curious was lying, Louis is still alive somewhere, and Curious was just being an asshole for withholding that information because "YoU nEvEr AsKeD". No one has a solid plan, and we've seen what having a very loosely made plan has caused. And the only way to make a plan is to gather information. Just as "Jaune's doing his best" isn't an excuse, "Ruby being a kid" isn't one either. All Jaune was trying to do was offer a reasonable solution to their predicament. The least they could do was not talk behind his back. He's their friend, and they've all been through a lot, Jaune clearly getting the shortest end of the stick, talk to each other.
@EngineScypex Жыл бұрын
@@nobuffer101 Yes, he is longer in the ever after, but that doesn't actually mean he is that experienced. Just recall how much time he must've spent to protect the village over decades. No, informations per se aren't important if not accurate. Just re-watch the episode. He "cleaned" quite a few acker and how much hints does he have? Let me take out my calculator... 0. Scouting is only helpful if you scout the right area. Let's just assume for a second that the way to Remnant is found at the tree and since Jaune don't want himself or RWBY to go there let's declare the tree-area as "non-acker". How many Ackers do you need to scout to find the answer? I'm not saying to just ditch him. Now that his acker is flooded he is free anyway. As for the tree: Yes, human sacrifice is as much on the table as they might encounter a pink elephant in the next 3 minutes in their timeline. Possible? Yes. But since no-one present in the current story knows what happened. Jaune was poisoned and the cat got tricked. Neither of them stated to have seen Alyx or Lewis after. It's totally possible that one of them had to make a sacrifice. But it's also possible that both made it to Remnant. Or that they got attacked by a Jabbawalker and one of them sacrificed themself. The cat might had withhold information, but there is a big difference between just not giving all information you have without being asked for it and lying. Jaune didn't offer that "reasonable solution", he tried to enforce it.

Both Ruby and Jaune have valid points for snapping at everyone. Just wished the next episode(s) would release much earlier than the following week. But the scene where it's Weiss, Blake & Yang looking out into the distance where Ruby disappeared off into the expressions they're giving, they know they have messed up beyond immeasurable proportions, because of the neglect and negative vibes that they have demonstrated towards Ruby, so I wouldn't be surprised that Ruby has an Anti-Hero stint before returning home because of this, with a possibility that Neo is the one who inadvertently teaches Ruby those concepts - despite wanting Ruby dead. If Weiss, Blake & Yang do agree that need to make things right and acknowledge Ruby's state of mind, they will need not only a miracle to find her before she leaves them in the Ever After, but an apology that goes beyond the simple hug it out, accept that need to help her out with mental state, but whole heartedly agree that they need to stop putting their own needs above everyone else* (*Weiss is still dealing with the loss of home, I'm talking about Yang and Blake), stick together no matter what like Weiss said in Vol. 7 Ep. 4, as a family to the bitter end. Also Yang needs to pull a galactic sized apology, and make up with her sister big time. I do like that they made YangxBlake canon (forgot the abbreviation 😂), but it should've been done in volume 7, not volume 9 whilst Ruby has gone way past the breaking point and needs her sister, now more than ever - trying to give a balanced criticism about Ruby and Yang. A small talk about this episode, but it hit hard. Throughout this season, all it's been for Ruby is basically "Hey, we see you're upset. But we gotta hurry up and grab our weapons. No need to sit by and be in our feelings." Throughout it all, everyone's been able to express their emotions and kind of resolve them. Throughout it all, when Ruby gets an ounce to try and shed her feelings, something always happens that won't allow her to. Her feelings were very valid to be expressed, she had every right to be upset as the team turned to her to pick Jaune up after the village flooded. After everyone saw she was clearly struggling I'm not saying she was in the right to yell at them, but she has every right to express herself. After everyone turned to her, the default leader, to resolve this. When she's a child. She was a child, who fantasized the life of a huntress, and was made the leader. She has gone through so much. Ruby has had to deal with trauma from family, friends, people they thought they could trust, watching people die over and over again. And then has had to face the monster her own mother couldn't stand against (don't even get me started on how much Summer influenced Ruby's aspirations of being a huntress played a part in Ruby's trauma cuz we'll be hear all day) On top of it, Jaune yelling at Ruby? Blaming her for the decisions she thought would work? Kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I understand that Jaune too has been through a lot as well, was put through so much trauma. But I think Ruby's voice should've been heard more. Because she's right Her feelings matter too. No one ever asked if she was okay. Throughout this season, she's blacked out. Has multiple panic attacks. Had existential crisis moments. Literally cried as she clung onto Penny's sword. Literally got scared of holding her own weapon. And no one has stopped to ask her "Are you okay?" The only one who has really taken notice but not made the initiative to ask is Little. She has seen ruby's frustrations, and heard her thoughts. Seen the paths Ruby could take to "shedding Ruby Rose away". That's why I think the next episode or at least in future ones, Little is gonna be the one to try and help Ruby throughout all this. One way or another, Little is gonna play a huge role in helping Ruby. And that's it for my small banter about this episode

The thing is Jaune also had it bad. Hell, you can argue he had just as bad (family issues, friends thinking he is a fraud, being a failure, lover dying, killing friend with his own hands, losing 20 years of his life among others) since Ruby is a chosen one and did have triumphs. Jaune is a comic relief that didn't have a single true victory. Even here he is overshadowed by combat prowess of other members and failed to protect people who saved him. I don't want to diminish something, but BOTH of them have PTSD and messed up circumstances. As to let her vent it out? Absolutely, but outbursts like this are out of question (as someone who has mental issues myself). I think Jaune even noticed her struggling, but decided not to pry before.

Ruby has venerated her mother for so long, picturing her as this infallible warrior that was literally the best, and the realization that it isn't real has totally damaged her mental state and her will. And now, her friends, who have always idolized Ruby as this beacon of what a huntress or huntsmen should be, are beginning to realize that she's just a person, and nothing more. Super fun parallels, and I'm excited to see where they take her character from here.

OK in 23:40 you mentioned that Ruby’s not happy about her sister’s relationship, but what I believe is because of the entire pressure trauma, and the situation, she wasn’t thinking straight, so she lashed out on them.(by the way, I only wanted to clarify that because I truly ship these people they deserve the entire happiness) and I’m guessing that rooster teeth is going to at least give us more on the situation. Maybe they might fix it in the next episode or it’s going to be something else either way I truly hope that the next episode or the next two episodes are going to fix the situation because to be fair they’re going through a lot and it’s basically not right because they’re still kids especially Ruby!!! Either way I think that your ideas were very on point let’s all just hope that in the next few episodes, everything can get fixed and they can defeat the entire hell hole that’s happening in the remnant. @wolfzend5964 Жыл бұрын
Seeing people paint both Ruby and/or Jaune in the wrong here is kind of essential up in a way. Both of them have been through the wringer more than either deserved. Ruby was a naive girl who wanted to be a heroine like her mother, seeing it as more of a game initially and not knowing what it meant to be a heroine. She had made her choices, believing them to be the best, trying to be positive, and at the end of the day, she made a mistake regarding withholding information, which resulted in Ironwood going off the deep end. While she tried to keep everyone safe and help, she was attacked by Cinder and Neo, both of which wanted Ruby dead in the first place. Now pretty much everything she worked for is nearly gone, she is trapped in another dimension, questioning if she deserves to be a huntress, and hasn't at any point before now, had a chance to vent. (Keep in mind she is still only 17 or so if I'm right) so clearly, she had to break at some point. Then you have Jaune, which is even in a greater mess than Ruby in my opinion. Much like Ruby, Jaune wanted to be a hero like his family, but unlike Ruby, he was never given a real chance, having to resort in cheating just to try and earn a right to be a hero. While he did finally learn that his initial reason was selfish, he did move passed it and became just as much, if not a more worthy Huntsman than several others. However, as time went on, he lost too much along the way, he lost the only real person who believed in him, and even confessed to him right before she died, which he blamed himself for, he nearly lost his friend when Cinder impaled Weiss and he only saved her out of sheer luck with his semblance. He learned that Salem was immortal and that Pyrrha's and their own sacrifices were possibly pointless until his team helped him get back up. He had to be there to help Ren and Yang go at it, trying to keep them together, possibly blaming himself due to his team losing the relic, losing Oscar and more. And then at the end, he failed to save Penny when she was fatally injured, and despite her sacrifice, Cinder still won in the end, with Jaune falling into the void. Now here is where it gets harsh, Jaune was alone in the Ever After, and worse yet, had his entire life nearly stolen from him after going back in time. He waited for who knew how long alone, to the point he grew up waiting for his friends to fall, only to meet Alyx and Luis. However, when he knew how "the story played out" he did everything he could to make sure they got back, however the story and what actually happened where different. Jaune blamed himself yet again for being unable to be a proper hero. In the end, despite his best efforts, he was betrayed and left to die, unable to do anything. He was saved by Juniper, as well as the Paper Pleasers, and wanted to save Alyx and Luis, but fond out that, as far as he knew, Luis was gone, Alyx was in Remnant and the cat was hiding something. Learning about the cat's purpose, the truth of assertion and more, he realized the truth and came to believe that the tree kills you, and without a straight answer or anything to go off of, he feared the worse, and that, because of him, he failed to save someone else (Luis) He however still held hope for seeing his friends, and wanting to find a way home, wanting to atone for his constant failures, he developed PTSD. That's why when he learned the people who helped save him wanted to ascend l, he did all he could to prevent that. Jaune is to the point where all he had left, for years, where the people who wanted to die, something he had become scarred at. (Think of a war veteran surrounded by those who want to die, but after losing his entire platoon and closest friends, he couldn't lose anyone else) and thus went to the limits of making and memorizing a schedule, wanting to keep them safe. (Which brings up a point, do you keep people safe wanting to keep yourself sane and them alive, or do you let them die like they want to, having them pull the plug and die on their own terms?) After years of this, it finally happened, Jaune reunited with Ruby, but also faced Neo, who became stronger. After spending so much time worrying about his friends, both RWBY and the Paper Pleasers, Jaune wanted to protect and help all of them. He knew he had a schedule and didn't want to lose anyone else. So when heanaged to bring RWBY to the village, he believed that they could find a way out together, having hope in his heart that together, they could escape and he would redeem himself. However, Neo attacked the village, gunning for Ruby, his friends he waited for for years begin to distrust him, and after everything, Jaune loses the village he spent years trying to protect, that was his final breaking point. By this point, both Ruby and Jaune are at their limits. Ruby is sick and tired of being placed with a duty, not wanting to be the leader, wanting to vent despite her team and Jaune having no real idea what she's going through, between her failings, Salem's actions and her uncertainty. It got to the point where she essentially made little and dismissed Jaune's own breakdown to validate her own, something which while she was right to snap at her team for, was wrong to dismiss the entire village as Jaune's "make up friends" That was when Jaune snapped, because for as long as he could remember, Jaune looked up to Ruby, supported her, believed in her, and ever since they reunited, she had been different. She didn't fight because she was scared, while Jaune, who was so worried about his own issues, the schedule for helping his friends, that he didn't really notice Ruby's actions until she started lashing out. But when Ruby dismissed the village he snapped. Jaune even states he wasn't in the right mindset, but you have to remember, he had known the Afterans more than anyone from Beacon or Remnany by this point, to him, they werenhis family, or more accurately sadly, something like friendly pets, like Zwei in a sense. So when someone with PTSD, who's only real sense of comradeship similar to a dog (I know they aren't dogs but in Jaunexs perspective they kind of where in a sense) and Ruby just scoffs their death off to said soilder with PTSD who loved that dog like his old friends stating "it was just a stupid dog" then yeah, Jaune lashed out. Because for as long as he could remember, stranded in a world unlike his own for longer than Remnant, with the person he believed the most in for as long as he could remember, suddenly throwing herself a pity party and dismissing half of Jaune's life of constant failures, he called her out on what he presumed what it was. It was Ruby he had faith in, it was Ruby who he trusted and as a result fell into the void, it was Ruby both Cinder and Neo were after, it was Ruby Neo was still after and it was Ruby who essentially, albeit completely indirectly, destroyed the last thing Jaune had left. And she was acting like a spoiled brat, ( from his perspective) just like Alyx did. I think he was yelling at Alyx more than Ruby, he was betrayed once by Alyx, and in his grief, he believed Ruby was acting just like Alyx. Jaune not only went through his PTSD, he also probably relived his time with Alyx and his betrayal. Jaune however noticed Ruby's face, and realized he was in the wrong for lashing out at her but can you blame him. He lost everything, was betrayed, and probably relived that mentally again. And for Ruby, Jaune snapping at her was also the final straw for her. Out of everyone, Jaune had always stuck alongside Ruby, only breaking off in Season 8 to help Yang and Ren with Mantal (Which was Ruby's original idea) so when he snapped at her in the middle of her venting, that broke her further. Both Jaune and Ruby needed one another to be there for them, but because of Ruby's venting and Jaune's PTSD backlash, both are now completely shattered, they probably don't trust each-other at the moment. The only thing is, that Jaune had time to come to terms that there is something wrong with him, and Ruby is completely lost. The only question remains, what next?

I don't engage with the fandom much because of how absent-minded and deliberately misrepresentative most modern-day audiences are, but I have to disagree with what I've seen in the majority of comment sections on this topic, and with Jaune here, when he says "It's all about you!": from literally the moment Ruby set out with him, Ren and Nora at the conclusion of Volume 3, Ruby has been trying her hardest to be a huntress and do the best she can on every occasion, from learning new things to handling new people to planning for new situations. When she made the mistake of withholding the truth from Ironwood or hatching the ineffective strategy of launching Amity, she openly admitted it, and she also vocally expressed her own frustrating awareness of her shortcomings after encountering the Fox and Hound Grimm too ("Then nothing has changed!"). She has never been blind to them for as long as Jaune has travelled with her. And all of this effort has always been to help OTHER people: JNR, Haven, Qrow, Oscar, WBY, the people on the train, Argus, Mantle, Atlas, Penny, etc. All Ruby has done is try and fight and scramble to save as many people as she can non-stop, despite continuous setbacks and failures (and those are not just her own failures -- other people's ideas and ventures proved fruitless and/or detrimental too!). Blake and Ruby even discuss this while firing up the generator at the Schnee Manor: that Blake admires Ruby for never falling short of doing SOMETHING, even when no one else dares do anything, because Ruby is always on the move and always thinking and caring. And mind you, of all these people encountered on her journey, only Maria, Ironwood and Dr Polendina made a substantial effort to HELP RUBY better herself as a huntress, and only for a very short time. Qrow taught her scythe-fighting in her childhood, but hasn't taught her since, as far as I can recall. And Jaune was told Ruby's plan to save Atlas and Mantle just like everyone else at the manor was, and they all reviewed it together, ironed it out, and AGREED to it. Ruby never forced her friends to go along with it, she was only the one to suggest it, and several others contributed to it. But when it eventually fell apart, despite it having the input and consent of multiple people and not just Ruby, Jaune blames Ruby for it, exclusively. And that's just wrong. Jaune could not have come up with a better strategy on the fly in the desperate circumstances they were, let's face it; which is why he agreed to support Ruby's and gave his constructive input on it, because at the time he sincerely believed it could succeed and so he assisted accordingly. But now all his years of grief have encroached on his mind enough to blind him to the inconvenient truth that HE was complicit in that plan too, to the exact extent he chose to be, and Ruby was not singularly responsible. Also, she didn't formulate the plan for herself, she did it literally for EVERYONE ELSE. But somehow it's "all about you"?! And it's RUBY's fault Roman died as a result of his own fuckery and his psychopathic sidekick hates and hunts her for it? Come on. I think this is just a very sad situation for everyone, where Jaune and Ruby's respective traumas are causing them to lash out in ways they do not entirely mean or are fully ready to admit; her disregard for Jaune's devotion to the Afterans this episode was cruel and totally uncalled for, and absolutely did not help the situation whatsoever. But I also think the main onus should be on the rest of Ruby's team here: they've all had their own troubles to sort out, sure, but they have been quite lacking in their support of their leader throughout this (and some of last) volume, considering all they know, and all they know of her. Yang especially -- Ruby is her SISTER, yet this fact has barely been at the forefront of their interactions since the Grimm attack last volume. I'm happy for Yang and Blake, and I'm sure finding happiness together at such a strange and uncertain time can be a distraction, but I don't think that should have anything to do with just how dismissive they and Weiss have been of Ruby's tells this season. I love all the girls, but this has really been rubbing me the wrong way, like their attitude toward her getting lost at the festival two episodes ago. I truly hope they talk about it and sort it out sufficiently soon.

Yang looked out for and rised Ruby her whole life. She is trying to support Ruby but Ruby is not talking, Yang can`t just start talking to RUby about her problems becouse if Ruby dosn`t want to it`s not gonna help (just like Weiss in Volume 5 with Yang, Yang had to talk first about her feeling Weiss responded) Ruby dosn`t talk. And Yang has her own problems to deal with, just becouse she has Blake now it dosn`t mean her problems suddenly disappeared, just like Blake said she acts tough and brave even if shes scared (she probably still has major abandonment issuesm, and thinks Blake might leave her) Ruby is 17 already she should be abble to talk to someone and ask for help. And I think Yang not only deserves being happy with Blake and trying to lessen her problems a little, but needs to. (and to have some alone time without worrying about Ruby 24/7) Yang needs to think about herself more and be happy.

@@gvidaspakalniskis5096 Kinda missing the point about depression (or PTSD, assuming that's what Ruby has) which is that people suffering from those mental disorders sometimes need to be PROMPTED to speak. I don’t think they intentionally want to burden Ruby bcuz it is what they are all used to… but I think WBY could have a done better job at checking up on Ruby, esp since Ruby has shown multiple times this volume she was looking sad and out of it. The rest of the team should’ve known something was up and actually intervened. The only one who has had a real talk with her was Weiss at the beginning. Even then, Weiss has been at times nagging to Ruby to hurry up and stuff. Blake and Yang are were too caught up with their own issues they needed to resolve with each other… but they’re not all to blame. They’re always stopped by smthng externally too with keeping up with the cat, Neo’s illusions of the Jabberwocky, saving others, or some other discovery/development. Ruby hasn’t had the proper time actually fully air out grievances or vent out her emotions. She got moments where she could have if she wasn’t interrupted and by the need to keep moving forward and finding a way out. Blake and Yang has last episode and Weiss… well she’s still coping with the lost of Atlas and not the main focus of the volume (serving as the comedic value).

What makes me so mad is how people are trying to paint Jaune as the bad guy here for yelling at Ruby. The Man spent god knows how many years in pure isolation with only his troubled thoughts as company. What we just saw here is basically both Jaune's and Ruby's traumas mixing and reaching their boiling point. People should not be arguing about who was in the wrong. They should be more worried that either Ruby or Jaune might pick Ascension . I fear for Ruby now because not only is she a target for Neo but also imagine if the Curios Cat decides to give his Ascension pitch to a now very vulnerable Ruby Rose

Just with the difference that Jaune had how much decades time to come to terms with things while Ruby doesn't and every single time when she needs a little break there's always something more important. Also he lied about having a plan. Heck he even put "study with pyrrha" on his list higher then finding a way home (if you watch his to-do-list). Not to mention that his arguments aren't even valid. They all decided what to do, he could've objected or made another suggestion. He didn't and therefore has no right to complain. And blaming Ruby for existing isn't very helpful either.

Both Jaune and Ruby have the right to be angry and let out their pent up frustration. Especially since jaune lost Pyrrha and had to kill off penny for the sake of saving the maiden powers, he had to live and probably think about that ever since he fell down to the ever after. Ruby has the right to be angry cause she has been bottling up so much grief because of watching Pyrrha die in front her, the burden on her shoulders to be team leader and put team first at a young age, losing her mother and probably not having many memories of her except for what others tell about summer or what memories she has left from when she was so young. She was so traumatized after Salem told her what she probably did to her mother back in atlas. Everyone is extremely traumatized from the events that unfolded, but none other than how badly it affected Jaune, Ruby, Even Winter and Qrow! I feel so bad cause he must have gone back to heavy drinking and worry so much about Yang and Ruby . Winter probably went on some form of Grimm killing spree to let out anger from seeing her sister fall as well. All I will say is, im scared on what will happen in the finale.

I’m going to be honest. I don’t think Juane really has a right to yell at Ruby. Juane said that everything was about her and that it was her fault all this bad stuff is happening because her plan didn’t work out but Juane, you literally did NOTHING to contribute to the plan. If you had a better plan or idea then why didn’t you speak up? Ruby only came up with this plan because everyone was putting pressure on her and no one else had any ideas. This plan was literally for everyone the sake of everyone else BUT her. She needed to make a plan just so that she could keep everyone’s morals up so that they didn’t loose hope. Obviously Juane has been through a lot being by himself for a long time but that doesn’t give him a right to blame Ruby for everything. What Ruby said in that outburst was just the truth. Sure it may have been harsh but it needed to be said. This isn’t the time for lovely doevy stuff and Juane needed a reality check. Those paper creature WANTED to reincarnate. They were literally trying to off themselves but Juane kept wasting his time (for years btw) trying to stop them as a form to cope with his trauma of not being able to save Penny. What Ruby said was just the truth. If they wanted to save Juane and bring him back they needed to give him a reality check and Ruby was the only one to actually say it to his face which triggered him. I honestly wished Ruby would’ve said something like “then you should of thought of a better plan then”. Like Ruby isn’t the only leader. Juane was too but he didn’t do anything so Ruby had to.

People might agree with RUBY n all that but tbh everyone needs to see it from JAUNE'S point of view here who actually has had it worse so far throught out everything that has happened between TEAM RWBY n TEAM JUNIPER ?? Team RWBY are still together all 4 of them - team JUNIPER lost PYRRA n right now REN n NORA have lost JAUNE atm since he fell in the ever after too U can say RUBY lost her mother sure But look at it like this she still has her father, yang still has her parents n blake dose too weiss she only lost her father her mother brother n sister are still alive Where if u look at team JUNIPER, JAUNE we dont really hear much about his parents they dont get mentioned or seen we got to see 1 of his sisters, NORA n REN have no family left no parents at all, n they lost there team member PYRRA..... Now TEAM RWBY are still together in the ever after n have been there less time then JAUNE has - JAUNE has been there for a long long time all the way to the point where the 1st people he actually saw from his world was the girl ALYX n her brother LOUIS, everyone he trys to help ends up dieing n he feels like he was unable to save them - he lost PYRRA, he lost his team since he been stucj there for a long time , he now has lost the village people here in this episode all cuzz of NEO n her quest to find n hunt RUBY ROSE, where ever team RWBY go they bring chaos n death n destruction everywhere they go.... JAUNE made a good point RUBY saying "what about me" but JAUNE made a good point if he was not distracted by them so much he could of done what he has been doing keeping the village safe, n NEO hates RUBY she is only after RUBY we keep seeing that the jabberwalkers by NEO doing only came there cuzz thats where RUBY was.... Also JAUNE has so much guilt n suvivers guilt, he was the last person on his team to see PYRRA before her death he couldnt help or save PYRRA, he had to kill his friend PENNY by PENNY's request, he spent so long alone in a strange world where theres no humans at all n he did so much on his own protecting n even taking his time to find RUBYs weapon for her, RUBY could habe actually made it in time to save PYRRA so could WEISS when JAUNE called them to save PYRRA but they got distracted by the GRIM where they was they could have been able to get to PYRRA in time if they didnt slow down stop n talk.... I dont no about any of u but tbh JAUNE has it worse then RUBY dose right now just saying... RUBY still has all her team mates, her father, her uncle n her sister, JAUNE lost his girlfriend n right now lost his team in a way n lost pretty much those paper things he even named after all of his friends he gave them all names after all his friends so for him thats like losing all his friends in one go right there in front of him n then RUBY starts goinf off like we meant to feel bad for JAUNES make beliefe friends or your happyness n all that.... like u got your weapon back your team is still here, WEISS lost her home in ATLAS but she still has some of her family left so dose RUBY BLAKE N YANG Just saying out of the 2 i think JAUNE has had it worse then RUBY has

Lol why are people painting Ruby in bad light and then others painting Jaune in bad light. I think both Ruby and Jaune are justified in their feelings while at the same time not liking how they reacted by saying harsh words to each other… but also being okay with it from a storytelling standpoint bcuz it’s helping them develop. It was bound to happen, and no one is the bad guy here… just internal emotions finally coming out from being bottled in for so long and WBY not realizing/ not knowing how to respond. It’s actually great seeing these characters more human with more nuance and have the conflict with one another feel natural as they stem from internal conflicts within themselves. Idk I just love it when characters have multiple sides to them that paint them as realistic with flaws, arguments, and not always one defining good or bad trait. The only thing I found a little weird is how Yang stepped in front of Blake as if Ruby was gonna hurt her, when Yang knows her sister would never do that Blake? I don’t expect Yang to solve and carry Ruby’s burdens, but I found that a little odd. It reminds me of the scene in volume 6&7 with confronting Ozpin and Ironwood and how Yang kind of took a stance of defensiveness… except this time it doesn’t make sense as Yang trusts and knows Ruby personally unlike with Ozpin and Ironwood.
@relic5752 Жыл бұрын
Fully agree. Of all the conflicts in this show, this one is probably my favorite and makes the most sense to me. We find two leaders who defined their roles in the group as "the ones who set their problems aside for the sake of the whole" lost in a world where they don't have any answers for the people that look to them for guidance. This ideal, while heroic, left Jaune prone to suicidal rushes the moment he's face to face with their actual enemies (vs Cinder in V5) and has left Ruby a bundle of nerves worrying about her mistakes (V4, V7 and V8 have moments dedicated to showing this-- though they were upended too soon for my taste).
@pauljordan0203 Жыл бұрын
I know Ruby's upset, so is Jaune, and I know they didn't mean to say those hurtful things, they're just not themselves, they need to realize that everyone has their faults, and flaws, that's something that both Ruby and Jaune have to understand, especially Ruby, all this time she's been trying to be like her mom, and the heroes from the books, but she needs to realize that she can't be like her mom, she can only be herself, and no one else, they need to go after Ruby to sort of tell her that, cause she's not safe as long as Neo and her cloned copies are hunting her, hopefully on the next episode they'll find Ruby, and talk some sense into her, and finally shake off that negative behavior of hers.
@ItsAKindOfMagic6 Жыл бұрын
I disagree, I think Ruby had every right, this breakdown was a long time coming. And also, you can't just "shake off" such deep negative emotions like its that easy, you can't just "talk sense" into someone who's feeling like that and expect them to get better right away, it doesn't work like that. And It's not her that needs to realize anything its the rest of her friends that need to realize they've been shitty friends and apologize for not noticing and helping her sooner.
@BiasFree Жыл бұрын
Okay yes, this is finally an episode I can really get behind. It's well written so action reflects the deeper issues. The team hasn't been facing the real problem they have been following a to do list, and ultimately by not facing the damn just breaks both literally and figuratively. and finally we can make some real progress.

It’s such a complicated thing. Because every time they did try to ask “hey, you good” Ruby shut them out or something interrupted them. That’s not even taking into consideration that they’re all so focus on trying to leave the Ever After. It’s all just a really big mess. Ruby’s completely valid in her feelings, this has been building for such a long time, but it’s still so hard to see her yelling at her team. And Jaune… oh boy. That’s another messy issue. This dude has always had a hero complex, like Ruby in some ways. “I’m tired of being the idiot stuck in the tree, I want to be the hero” to paraphrase his speech in V1. But now, mixed with all his trauma, it’s gotten to a point where he’s interfering with the Afterans’ way of life, based on incomplete information and his own assumptions/biases. On the plus side… the Bees are more in sync than ever and that fight choreo was super smooth. The song that played was called Trapdoor and it’s definitely a Ruby song. And to answer your question at the beginning, I think the mirrors last episode were showing things they’d lost, things they missed, or even just things that are weighing on their mind. Summer has been getting so many mentions this volume… please let us see her.

me who doesn't like the show as much as i used to just watching to see where the story goes: "fuck yeah ruby pop off!!" honestly, ruby has been the only main cast member who didn't get to resolve her issues and feelings in 9 whole volumes. all the other main characters went through their own personal arc resolutions but her, who has been struggling with trauma, responsibility and a messed up perception of herself for 6 volumes. this episode brought me back to the volume 4 scene where jaune is practicing to a recording of pyrrha and ruby watches him. i think that moment is where her self-doubts really started. she doesn't trust herself but she has no one to lean on so she ended up bottling everything and trying to do good, but things kept not working and she lost hope in herself and in her team. she desperately needed this and i really hope they're going to sit on the fact that she's been bottling her feelings for 6 volumes, honestly if i was going through so much and get no help from my closest confidants i would definitely hold a grudge. ruby wasn't completely in the right for acting the way she did but i totally understand her and absolutely agree with some of the things she said. why DOES she need to be a leader? and why does everyone start asking her if she's ok but then get distracted by other things to do and leave it as if they forgot something about her behaviour was concerning? yang, weiss and blake managed to sort out their family issues and heal through their traumas throughout the volumes, so pushing aside ruby's feelings, especially as the youngest in the group just isn't fair. idc that she's the leader, idc that she's talented, smart, charismatic, and a good fighter. idc! get that child a therapist!
