One of the best nuggets of wisdom I know of when it comes to parenting is to tie a string to its ankle, and run the string to a bell, and put the bell next to a dog, and when the bell rings, the dog will bark in fear, and then the baby will wake up, and you'll know it's time to feed the baby! Guaranteed to work every time.

6:42-7:29 I mean, I'd be interested in being explained proteins. Even in a multi-part series over time, if one video gets too long. But I'd also watch a video about that bassoon at 12:25. And of course, congratulations!

What's it like playing the bassoon while pregnant? How do you compensate for the baby's wiggling to maintain breath control? How does baby braniac respond to the bassoon?

At just a few months old, my baby use to make terrifying choking sounds that had me bolt straight to her. Once there I would find her perfectly safe and looking at me with a look that said "What? did I scare you?". After she learned to sit up, her response to having something dangerous taken away from her was to throw herself back with full force and hit herself on the back of the head. Thereafter the dumb baby learned to walk and I kid you not when I tell you that her favorite "snack" were the cigarette butts she would find on the floor! Screw babies, you can have'em! she's an adult now and recently "borrowed" my enamel oven roaster, I won't hold my breath on getting that back!

Thank you & congratulations on your baby. My first I called the alien when pregnant, my second I was sure was an octopus.:) My 2 are 4 years apart, my advice is if you're planning a second baby wait at least 3 years. Anyhow... I have a benign dysplasia known as a benign 'multinodular and vacuolating neuronal tumor of the cerebrum' (MVNT) in my left lateral inferior frontal lobe extending as clusters towards the frontal horn of the right lateral ventricle. Which developed when I was fetus. I'm wondering at what stage...? I have epilepsy, was diagnosed at 22 in 1991 but this benign tumor wasn't found until 2018 and my neurologists not sure if it's the cause of my epilepsy or not. My epileptologist described it as "Like a brain birthmark or mole." MVNT were classified in 2016. I found your videos because I am trying to understand more about what happens in my brain when I have a tonic clonic seizure. Seizure recovery is very hard for me and I'm hoping more I understand about the seizures I can experiment with post seizure treatments.

Imagine not existing then suddenly feeling everything everywhere all at once…. I always wondered about memory. Like if you don’t remember it, it kind of didn’t happen in your mind. Without memory retention then we don’t even know we’re alive. If we were to have died before we started forming solid memories… would we have even ever know. We were alive? So it’s not really so tragic for the living being that passes right?

First off - congratulations! Secondly, your videos are usually very informative. And I understand that this is bad timing for you, but don't you think that some additional thought about Roe v. Wade and what your opinion on it was would be useful at this time? I honestly don't want to be hurtful and have zero intention to rain on your parade but there are so many people in USA that this exact same 'beautiful biological miracle' that you are describing is going to cost their futures because of ugly politics, so I just thought that you should have filmed a portion of video where you gave your opinion on abortion.
@neurotransmissions2 жыл бұрын
This was filmed before the leak. The Roe vs. Wade issue is something that would benefit from its own video, but it is also something that will require a lot of time and energy to do well. We're a bit short on both at the moment, but don't mistake that for a lack of care or concern. Luckily, there are a lot of smart people talking about this issue at the moment and we have taken personal actions to fight for reproductive rights. We encourage you and everyone else who reads this to do the same. Donate, protest, volunteer, talk with loved ones, contact your representatives.
