Really cool boards! I watched all your videos several times in deciding which board to get for my first serious board. Thanks for making all of them, they were a lot of help! 😀 I'm eager to see Part 2 when time allows. Happy Holidays and cheers!

Hey, Blunder! Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated! What did you get for your first serious board? I do plan to get around to Part 2 of my board reviews. In the meantime, I have a travel-size board from Cyprus to unbox (Theo Boards), and I’m trying to get P-40 interested in making me a board, but they’re hard to get a response from. Cheer, and enjoy the Holidays! 🙌🏼🎲🎲🎄💨

Thinking about buying some acrylic checkers from Gammon Village. Opinion seems to be divided on checkers with a finger dish. What's yours?
@jjmckenna3 ай бұрын
Interesting question! I have both types, with and without finger dishing. I think it’s a matter of taste, honestly. I think the dished checkers look more ‘vintage,’ but that’s just my opinion. I have flat checkers on my Gammoner board, and they are some of the most beautiful checkers I’ve ever seen. Good luck! 👍🏼 🎲🎲⚫️⚪️

My first board is a Crisloid too!!

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for my custom Crisloid board, even if I don’t play on it as much as some of my other boards!

I am happy to see that those checkers went to a caring place. Glad that you are liking those checkers. The green and butterscotch Bakelite look of my latest Crisloid board is much better than the ones I originally thought of. Glad that both of us are happy. I am debating on my next board. I am kinda thinking about doing another Crisloid board but make a Merit Park Hotel and Casino board. Maybe with tear drop points. Plain solid black and red checkers. The gold point is the only iffy thing. Don't want it to blend in with the color of the cork surface. Still debating on it.

Yes, as soon as I can get one of my kids to act as my videographer! I have several FM boards to highlight, and one from 869, also a Turkish board. Cheers! 🎲🎲✨

Just noticed the fm boards never made the video. Out of all your boards, what is the one you love to play on regardless where you are?
@jjmckenna2 жыл бұрын
Hi Major, thanks for the question. I’m planning on doing a Part 2, with my FM boards, since I have four of them! I’d say the two boards that I play on most often are my Earth board and my FTH board, followed closely by my FM Talat and Hera boards. They’re all gorgeous and play beautifully. Look out for Part 2 of my review video!

I agree with the FTH cups, they tend to hold one of the dice inside…. But its my favorite of 7 different boards i own , one reason been the color choice, black green , wich is my choice and not and attribute to Fazil, but particularly the playing surface, wich is an “exclusive “ of Fazil’s work , and it is great.

Francisco, Thanks for the comment, and I agree, my FTH board is one of my favorites because of the playing surface, which is fantastic. Glad you like your color choices as well. Who knows, maybe I’ll order one of the smaller FTH boards, to go with my large tournament size board. Cheers! 🎈

Hi Justin. How is the playing surface on your Crisloid holding up? Mine went grippy, tacky despite being cleaned. The guys in Crisloid said to use polish but didn't work. Interested for comparison.
@jjmckenna2 жыл бұрын
Grover, I’ve had no issues with my Crisloid surface. When I first opened the board, the surface was crazy slick, but it’s calmed down and now it’s fine. Sorry yours got tacky and/or sticky. Not sure what to do about that. Maybe use a slightly moist paper towel that’s slightly sudsy with a very mild dish soap, like Dawn? Good luck! 🍀

Hi Justin - Do you prefer your earth board or gammoner more?
@jjmckenna2 жыл бұрын
Chad, thanks for your question. I will say that I enjoy each board for different reasons, but the quality, workmanship and feel of the Gammoner is hard to match. And with the massive 50mm checkers on the Gammoner, it’s an amazing experience to play on. That said, the Earth board is aesthetically very pleasing to play on, has interchangeable surfaces and tons of options. It’s also half the cost, so that’s attractive. Fact is, I love ALL my boards, lol. 😁
