If YOU want to get involved in the free karting event on the 23rd of February 2025, just sign up for any tier of Channel Membership. The first 25 people to sign up will get priority entry - but if anyone in the first 25 can't make it (I already know that's the case for some people) or they're under the 15 year old minimum age limit for the event, the next person to sign up will be offered the place on the grid. Come and race with us and be a part of one of my next videos! Thanks for watching this one, and see you on track!

A tip to get used to would be choking the airbox just before hitting the brakes at christmas. In the dry, you will be maxing out the revs for a long period before stamping on the anchors and thatsba recipe for damage/seizing. If youre running it in race trim, its a good idea to choke the airbox to get some fuel through as you close the throttle

If it were me I’d be harder on the brakes rather than slowing earlier. Harder on the brakes combined with Direct Drive engine braking will help you rotate the rear more and allow you to attack the apex. Always found that worked better with the TKMs on the Bridgestone rocks.
@BradPhilpot8 күн бұрын
When I talk about braking earlier - that means relative to the point I tried initially (which was just too late). Braking harder when you’re already braking too late, would just make me sail past the corner (which is what I did a couple of times). I will get better at judging the braking (and everything else) with a bit more practice though.

on the carburetor rebuild: I like to use a small countersunk screw (don't remember the size) on the shaft of the butterfly which will seat flush with the shaft. The screw that you have now pokes out a little bit too much. I know it's only 0.000001% more airflow, but we always fight for that last 0.01 seconds, right ?

It’s going to massively depend on which championship and what your budget is. If you have me half a million pounds and told me I could only spend it on karting in the Uk, I could easily spend that. Likewise if you told me the budget was £5000, we can find a series which fits that budget.
