ive been struggling with bar chords for a while, and literally yelled when i tried the elbow trick because of how much better i could use my index finger!! thank you!!

Hey Dave, you asked how I found TSG, and as soon as I saw this I realized it was this video a couple months ago or so. I never learned about the tricks here for barre chords and they were a game-changer!

Stopping the use index finger in normal chords will help in forming different barre chords ... that's some new info i got for playing barre chords. This tutorial made barre chords bit easier for me coz now i know the proper technique.

Hello! I found you tutorial really useful, but I still struggle with the bar chords bc no matter how much pressure I put on my index finger (even using your technique with the elbow and placing the finger sideways), it always mutes the second string. First and last ring loud and clear, but the second gives me trouble. Is that sth that goes away with more practice or do I have to change my finger placement somehow?

what specifically is not ringing out? what shape, string, finger?

@@TheSchoolOfGuitar I think when I try to do a A major chord my pinky gets in the way of the g string so it won’t ring out, so instead I use only 3 fingers to play A major instead of 4 fingers
