Gosh I remember the first time riding into Lackland not knowing what’s about to happen. It was definitely an adrenaline rush that I’ll never forget. Basic wasn’t that bad at all minus the yelling, once you get to tech school and your first duty station, you’re gonna look back and realized how simple it really was in basic. But overall, the experience you get is something worth remembering for a long time!

debating weather to be a police officer or joining as enlisted and transitioning into officer roles for a career/pension opportunity . looking to make a living out of whatever i end up doing so im not sure how long i should take to decide but i am starting a regiment with my friend to get myself in shape to prepare for either or (/ just to get in shape regardless of weather or not i serve). I want to benefit and help my community/nation grow and i haven't seen any other careers other than service really provide me with the same opportunities to help people and my communities grow and I was just wondering what your perspective was on how joining has helped you and the people around you. Thank you for your service and i hope i can get some good advice/ and or feedback on your point of view.
@ballermommy34826 ай бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! So the reason I joined is because I wanted more stability for my family. Also like you I have this calling to serve. For me the military is worth it because I was able to learn a new job faster. I got EMT certified. My family is taken care and I’m fulfilling my ability to serve. Ultimately it’s your decision to make. I would say pray on it! Both are great choices. What will make you happiest?

If it helps at all, I have a job list with 10 jobs I would want to do. My plan is going to college for the thing I want to make a career out of and then going officer in the AF for it. I plan on doing my 20 in the AF. Hopefully they approve my waivers soon.
@ballermommy34826 ай бұрын
In my experience my recruiter had me pick 10 jobs. I didnt get anything on my list but I got medical. Which is what i wanted overall. Just remember to always advocate for yourself. However, A.F needs comes first. If you want to be an officer you plan sounds great. I wish you the best!

Watching your video just gave me so much confidence. I am thinking about joining, but nervous about BMT. I know it won't be easy but the outcome will be worth it. Do you get to choose where you want to be stationed, or do you get to be given a choice and do they consider it?
@ballermommy34824 ай бұрын
@@shyymarie7589 thank you so much for your kind words. If it’s something you want to do absolutely do it. BMT is not as bad as you think it is. What helped me was thinking about how many people before me have done it and have been successful. Also you don’t pick where you’re stationed. However, you do fill out a dream sheet of 10 different places you want to go. It’s still a very real possibility that you won’t get anything you want. So just keep that in mind.

Hi! What an amazing story and experience! I always wanted to join the military. I ended up getting in a car accident 2 weeks before actually joining. I am a military brat as my dad was Army and Air Force. My husband is an Army veteran. What was it like telling your husband that you wanted to join after having kids? We have 5 children and it would seem hard to join now.
@ballermommy34826 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I’m sorry about your accident. I pray you’re healed. My husband was excited. I had been trying to get in since we had our 1st baby. I think anything is possible. You never know what you can or can’t do. I will say you’ll have to get a waiver because you have more than two kids.
