In this Bavarian china plate collection video I show you my plates from Bavaria Germany. Recently I did a video on our Austrian porcelain vases and pitchers. If you have been following our channel, you will know that we are maximalist collectors. We love beautiful things and we like to display and see them. I rotate our collections around with the seasons, so we can enjoy them throughout the year. These bavarian plates are from various makers in Germany. Schumann Dresden, Heinrich and Company, Winterling Schwarzenbach, among others. We are always on the hunt for beautiful pieces to add to our collection. My mother-in law was a WWII German war bride . She married an American soldier and moved to the states after my husband was born. She used to bring Hummel statues back when she went there to visit along with other trinkets. I use to raise German Trakehner horses so my tack and riding clothes were German made. Excellent quality! Beautiful collection of Bavarian plates! I enjoyed seeing them . Thank you for the video! Funny story- I grew up in Baltimore Md. My mother had a 4 piece plate set that was made by the Salem China Co. My family eventually moved to Canfield, Ohio and years later when I got married my mother gave me the set of plates. One day I was over my husband’s grandmother’s house ( She was Czech) and in her China cabinet were the same set of plates! Turns out , she had worked for the Salem China Co. and was the employee who put the decals on those plates! What are the odds that that would happen ?? Small world !!!

It made me drool; almost fainted, lol. My fav was a tie of the couple plate and the parrots, but they are all equally fabulous. Now I need to get fruit plates; my collections are mostly florals, majolica, chinoiserie, depression glass and many other things. But I came to realize how lovely fruit is thanks to your great video. Your home is gorgeous! It must be overwhelming to be surrounded by such beauty. I like the floral plates the best. I do have these fruit themed tea cups and saucers that I drink my coffee out of, and they do make me happy. But then I found floral tea cups and saucers and I like them better.

My ancestors were Schumann's from Germany. I collect it and love how beautiful it is! I have a set of "June Rose" service for 8 plus serving pieces. Those came from my Great-great Aunt (other side of family). We happened to notice her china and our eyes lit up when we saw the Schumann marks on the back! Bought many pieces off Ebay and antique stores. Still waiting to get some Dresden items. They are gorgeous!!

This was just lovely, I lived and worked in Germany for almost 12 years, until November 2019. I loved going into the Villeroy and Boch store at the local Mall near my place in Lübeck. I also worked at the Bayreuth Festival a couple of Summer seasons, There are so many lovely porcelain companys . The Festspiele had it's own pattern of China and porcelain collectables. I have a lovely porcelain Cup, saucer and Desert or Breakfast Plate in cobalt Blue with Gold, it has Rchard Wagner's silhouette on the cup and plate. They were a gift from an avid fan. I sang lots of Wagner's work, particularly the Brünnhildes in the Ring.

I love the Plates that are named Meadow and Songbird is beautiful too. Oh my goodness . I think I like the Royal Dresden better than Meadow and Songbird. Hi ya Jeff . I'm late watching your video been so busy . Jeff's been really ill . My 83 stepfather has had covid but Jeff has been bad . Not doing anything and you know Jeff nothing stops him . Even when he was operated on did he stop 28 yrs ago . But this covid has knocked him around . He's triple vaccinated like us all . I worry because he's 69 now and he hasn't got any energy . I'm still clear as of now . 🌞I loved everything about this video I've fallen in love with everything you have shown us . Really enjoyed this video! I think my favorites are the C&S wall plate (with the man and woman) and the Dresdan Royal - they are exquisite. All the dishes you shared are beautiful. That was interesting to me when you mentioned that Villeroy and Boch bought Heinrich & Co. because this year I bought my daughter the Villeroy & Boch French Garden (with lemons) for her new apartment after she graduated from college (I bought them from Macy's when they had a 50% sale on them). They are great quality and very pretty. Thanks for this wonderful video.

Wow! What gorgeous plates! I love Bavarian porcelain. Those reticulated plates are awesome. I adore all the birds, too. I just bought a set of signed hand painted Hutschenreuther dinner plates on eBay. I already had one that I’d bought last year, plus I’d found a matching salad plate a week or so later. And then this year I saw a set of six of the same pattern so I grabbed those, too. I contacted someone at Rosenthal who acquired Hutschenreuther but he couldn’t tell me much about the pattern since their records only go back 30 years. He said they were most likely privately painted. But get this, I made three separate purchases from sellers in three different states. All signed by the same artist, Ruth 54. I guess 54 means 1954 but I don’t know. It’s a mystery. Anyway I do love this type of porcelain, but also all different kinds. Love seeing your collections. I have never seen someone enjoy their collection like you do. I just watched your Bavarian pitcher video and then this for the first time. As a professional potter I am soo appreciative that you know and talk about how hard it is to get pieces through the entire process! Getting a plate to stay flat is just about as hard as the rest of the process. They can warp during the very last firing and that is just horrible. I LOVE SEEING THE JOY these bring you!!

A lovely video to begin the week! It was so interesting to see the many styles and different makers. My favorites are always the floral designs, but the last bowl set with the fruit was so pretty because of the color. I actually did purchase my second spring/summer tee shirt from your store. So many lovelies, it's hard to choose a favorite but if I could only choose one it would be the reticulated plate with the tropical birds. This weekend while thrifting, I found 5 Eschenbach Bavaria plates with forget me nots on them and a sort of ruffled edge (I'm not sure what that is called. but it's good.) I'm guessing they are from the 60's or so. I paid less than a Euro per plate. I was over the moon for them. When I got home and googled them they go for about 10-15 Euros a plate for similar color flowers with the same plate design. I guess I did well. After washing them up I paired with a solid yellow color dinner plates from the 90's as a charger. Dinner plates from the 60's were a lot smaller then the more modern oversized ones. The combination was stunning as the charger plate picked up the color of the forget me not flower center of yellow. Anyway the Bavarian plates are out of this world.

Yes it is Bavarian ! Originally from the northern Rhine region .....but Selb region in Bavaria became the epicenter for fine porcelain paint shop !!! Like so many ....usually the second name can be a township or city ....this name on yours is from a palace in Potsdam Germany with the same name Sansucci...in the Roccoco style ! Very unique very pretty....some are all white ! 🌴😎🌞☕🍋🌺🍍❤
