Today I’m showing you guys the rest of my Beatles and Paul McCartney books! I’m sorry if I ramble a lot in this video, and if I start to get on your nerves you can always mute it and watch the subtitles. 😂 Either way, I hope you enjoy. :-D

Hello Katie! Thank you so much for sharin' yer Beatles book collection...which is quite impressive. I'm one o' those lucky guys who worked at Borders Books And Music for years. I headed the multimedia department-cd's 'n dvd's-as well as the music books. Thanks for the heads up on The Definitive Guide For All Beatles Fans. I just ordered a sealed copy from you tube for less than $10 all inclusive! Love those magnets...YOU RULE!

Good video Katie, there are so many great books on the Beatles! Lyrics is one of my favorites. I like the story of how he ran into Jane Asher years ago I think at his doctor's office and then he said he never saw her ever again! When I was a kid there were not many books on them. This would be the 70's but there was called Beatles An Illustrated Record by Roy Carr. In the 70s that was our Beatle bible! I still have it and I think you can still buy it somewhere. I also have this book by a guy and his friends who saw Paul in New Orleans at the recording studio where he was recording Venus and Mars. Plus many others! Great videos-keep exploring! Russell is my name.

Enjoyed the second half of the Beatles/McCartney books videos. I’ve read about 15 different books on one or all of the group members. Mark Lewisohn has some great books about them. Tune In is volume 1 of a projected 3 volume set. He is currently working on volume 2. He also wrote a book detailing their in studio work on a daily basis as they were recording the songs. Another interesting book is Northern Songs about a history of their recording contracts from EMI and the publishing rights to their songs. Their first contract guaranteed just six recorded songs. After that they had their contract (I believe was four yearly contracts that EMI could back out of at the conclusion of any particular year) that would pay them 1 cent per single sold that was to be divided four ways for the four members. So 1/4 cent each for each single.

Your book collection is even more amazing! 🤩 It was especially cool of you to show your Beatles magnets. 😉 I have the very same "A Hard Day's Write" book and an updated version of it! 😃 The updated version was mainly an accident because the seller of one of the books I ordered two years ago sent that one instead of the one I REALLY wanted, but he DID send the right one after telling me his mistake. 😯 On the bright side, he said I could keep the other book he mistakenly sent for free of charge. 😌 Oh, and I play piano too. 🎹 In fact, I have my very own keyboard at home. 🙂 Only I don't have any sheet music books, because I can't read music. 😕 I actually got a few more Beatles books last month and this month as well. 📖 Also, good luck at college. 🍀 I hope you have fun. ❤️

Great to see you again Katie! That's quite a collection. Many I've never seen before. In that 100 best Beatles songs, did you agree with their number one choice? When you start school, don't forget us. Oh, I want to give you a heads up. The next time you walk into a used record store, don't ask where are your Beatles vinyl's at? Say, where is the Beatles vinyl selection at? Or Beatles records. Never vinyl's. It's just a mistake a lot of young record buyers learn. ps I just happened to hear you say the word, I'm not trying to be mean. your friend. :)

Aw, I’m glad you enjoyed it! :-) Haha, it’s really embarrassing, but I can’t remember what the number one song was-I’m going to have to check. 😂 And I’ll definitely still be making videos, probably on the weekends, so it’ll basically be the same. 😊 Oh yeah, and I typically say records instead of vinyls. I think I get nervous on camera and interchange the words, but I almost always say records. XD Thanks for watching, my friend!

Hi Katie-I have a few Beatles books to recommend: Treasures Of The Beatles-Tony Burrows. It includes a multitude o' collectable reproductions-posters, signed postcards, tickets 'n much more. Mark Lewisohn books: Complete Beatles Chronicle; The Beatles Recording Sessions; 'n best o' all: All These Years Vol. 1 Tune In. I've collected 'n read most Beatles books 'n this is definitely #1...A MUST READ! Friend o' mine has the rare extended special edition with 2 books-twice as much material as this was eventually edited down to only one book. And this is only the first o' a 3 volume series which will cover their entire career. Mark has dedicated himself to this project 'n says it'll be done when it's done. It's been 9 years since Tune In was released. He's workin' on Vol. 2 'n Vol. 3 simultaneously. Can't wait for the results 'n hopefully each o' these will have extended editions as well. If you buy only 1 more Beatles book make it Tune In. Nothin' else compares.

Think you're right with the 'guarded' comment about Paul. I was watching The Master Tapes and a question from the actor Simon Pegg began ' You come across as a private man ' and Paul agreed but points out that in a song there is the possibility to put down your innermost feelings. The lyrics is a fantastic book: for me his music, the notes, has always spoken clearly anyway. I think the music itself carries meaning and I find it profound and emotional.
@katiegl
@katiegl Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think Paul learned that the best defense was to not share every little thing about his life. I feel like not doing so helped him to separate the ‘famous him’ from the ‘everyday guy’ him. I admire that he does that, because it keeps him grounded, at least in my opinion. But yes, songwriting is definitely a peek into what he truly thinks, and that’s very interesting. 😄 And I agree, The Lyrics is such a great book. They did a wonderful job with it, and I’m glad Paul wants to still release things like it. Thanks so much, my friend! :-)

@@katiegl Joseph son of Jacob, aka Joseph the righteous the bible says that God was with him so he became a successful man. The midrash says that Joseph was praying to God before doing anything for success in his action and that he was a happy and positive man (which is also supported by the bible when God tells the Jews to worship him with joy, otherwise it's considered a sin). So Joseph has trust in God and prayed on anything and was a happy man even when things did not go his way - because he understood that that is what God wants him to have now and it is for his own good since God can only do good (even when he was sent to jail, so even in jail God helped him and everyone liked him and helped him, since: If God like someone's actions than everyone else does). Even if you are feeling sad or down but you still act happy than you will be happy eventually 'fake ti until you make it' both judaism and NLP say that, the subconscious does not distinguish between real and imaginary so by acting happy you'll become happy!. Joseph also got ancient wisdom from God - he learned suddenly (since it was needed, ordered so by the King of Egypt ) how to run Egypt’s economy - the wisdom was bestowed upon him, same way as the holy spirit was bestowed on some prophets. What you can do is always trust God and pray to him before anything, even a short prayer, and always be happy and smile to everyone and trust God because he loves you (otherwise you wouldn’t have been born), study well for any exams (since you need to put in the effort) but always throw it on God to help and give you success in everything you do. NLP teaches about ‘Atomic Habits’ you can do two things: any subject or task that you have - you break it down to small details (for example: the UK bike team that was losing for ears e new coach broke everything down to small details: improved the chairs, rubbed oil on the wheels’ tiers to make them better, and lots more other stuff and they became champions), basically rather than trying to focus on the problem as a whole he focused on improving each component by only 1% a year - recommended reading ‘Atomic Habits’. Also there are ‘atomic habits’ - things that you do without thinking like brushing your teeth, so every day after doing so you smile to the mirror ( subconscious does not distinguish between real and imaginary) then you’ll start your day smiling and be happy all day long, you can also add more habits to your other automatic habits for example: after drinking coffee in the morning you could meditate / pray for a minute and go and do a task or go to school, you could listen to a song you like after completing a task and after that song you could go on to doing another task which you find more challenging to do, each person adapts those ‘atomic habits’ as needed. Also you can set yourself an ultimate goal (like being a famous musician) and plan your actions accordingly and since you are on that mission\goal than you’ll be more successful with God’s help. You can also study and model an artist (or anyone) that you admire, study his/hers ways of action, find out what made him/her successful and only adapt their good traits (since no one is perfect but the Lord). Try to get the book ‘Atomic habits’, sorry I write so long. Have a great day God willing!!!

You have some great books in your collection. I was particularly interested in the Paul McCartney Off Stage, On Stage (I don't remember the exact title, obviously) book. I don't have this book and I was interested in the part where you explained how Paul and the band prayed before each performance. I had not heard of this before. As you said, it is highly appropriate to thank God as he is the source for all music. Thanks for sharing that with us. By the way, I don't think that you are "rambling" in your videos. I find them interesting and informative. So keep them coming. Good luck in college this semester. I know you will do well as a music major with your God-given talent. P.S. Any chance of you performing a song accompanying yourself on piano? 🙂
