@@riothin8376 I also highly recommend switching to overhead heating, it’s far more natural and beneficial than heat mats. A halogen bulb connected to a dimming thermostat would be the best option, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option.

Hey! I have a problem. My new leopard gecko that I got a week ago won’t go in his humid hide. Earlier I put him in it and he has sleeper and stayed in there for a few hours. But when he comes out, I don’t think he goes in it again, (unless he goes in it at night, which I doubt,) but he looks like he’s going to shed. He doesn’t look really clear like he was. He looks a little different, and looks like he HAS to shed. I really need help! You or somebody else can answer, but please help me!
@nightinggale64704 жыл бұрын
Is the humid hide see through? What substrate are you using inside? You could raise the humidity of the whole enclosure, just make sure it doesn’t stay humid for too long. 30-55% is fine for general humidity (measured by a digital hygrometer).

@@ajaxsnumberonefan try using a hide that’s completely opaque (not see through at all). See through hides don’t really hide them, so they’ll probably feel more secure in an opaque hide.

Hey Rebecca. Can you plz make a video talking about Asian leopard gecko care? I follow some accounts on Instagram that are from Asia and their setups are drastically different from North America. One of those accounts is called paprika_831 but they’re are others that should pop up if you follow that account or just go through their followers.

I just got my leopard gecko about a 2 weeks ago from pet smart and it’s my first gecko I’ve ever gotten and he is really small and stays in his one house the hole time and only ever moves when I pick him up what should I do?
@nightinggale64704 жыл бұрын
For future reference please don’t buy animals from PetSmart, they’re not a good company to support. He may still be adjusting to the new environment. What’s his setup like? And how are you heating the tank?

@@user-cw8pv6sf5k analogs are inaccurate, you need a digital thermometer and hygrometer. Temperature guns are great for measuring surface temps. Your heat mat must be connected to a thermostat. Without one it will overheat and might burn your gecko or start a fire. I power is a good cheap one on amazon. Turn all lights off at night.

Please i need some help I assumed custody of my grand lizards (3) Gizzy (female) Stevie (make) Godzilla (male) I needed to clean all their enclosures I purchased reptile safe chlorohexadine I sprayed Gizzy's enclosure let sit overnight Rinsed it out ALOT. dried it with bath towel. Because i used so much water. Wanted to make sure it was safe for her to get water off the inside of aquarium She now won't lick water from inside of aquarium I did let it completely dry out Before i put her in her new tank I spend hours putting her in front of cool air humidifier so she can get water. I also hand spray her with water bottle she never seems to get enough water (I almost soak bottom of her tank) Due to not getting enough water She won't eat (this makes 6 days) Since she has eaten She has a humid hyde Dry hyde on her heated side of her tank I have tried everything Even douced it with MORE water again. No luck She still will not eat Every night i spend probably 2 hrs in front of vapirizer with her And cuddling when she gets cold to warm her up PLEASE HELP ME DON'T WANT MY BABY GIRL TO DIE
@nightinggale64704 жыл бұрын
Assuming these are leopard geckos, since you didn’t specify: stop trying to give her water. She will drink from her water dish when she needs to. They drink when you’re not looking. Her humidity shouldn’t be too high, you don’t want her to get a respiratory infection. As for her not eating: she’s probably not eating because you’re stressing her out. What’s the hot spot temperature and is your thermometer digital or analog? She should have at least three hides: warm dry, cool dry, and humid.
