@trump 20:00 I’ve been running hand mage with khadgar/power of creation combo. Even including 2 flame strike/1 pyroblast to get some extra targets for those huge tempo plays. When the deck goes off it feels unstoppable.

So this deck I’ve been messing around with makes use of the lackey mechanic and the self eating minions that warlock uses, it is Aggro that can ramp up a massive hand of low cost monsters so sea giant and mountain giant can be used if needed. Can you craft together a “Junk” warlock and see if it can be improved?

I doubt it, as the weapon is hard-coded into the card, so when you play it you should always get the same weapon.

Cube gets you 2 copies of a specific minion (so better for comboing), conjurer gives you 2 random minions (but you get them right away without needing another card, better for tempo). They're not the same.

Not the same but serve the same purpose. Many stats, very quickly. And also gaining value from destroying your own minion. The "3-bombs-away-from-death" argument against Jaraxxus during the first mulligan is what holds me from playing that card in general. This and the fact that everybody is playing 1-2 Weapon removals right know. Is he still worth it?

With weapon removal being everywhere, Jaraxxus isn't worth it. Burst is greatly lower now than in any past meta in recent memory, so that's a definite upside to Jaraxxus though. If Rogue gets less popular over time, Handlock could start shining.

He's never been GREAT. It's too slow to be played as a value card because 15 health isn't usually enough to save you. And for the same reason, a 3/8 weapon doesn't really work well for him. The hero power is obviously amazing, but you only really see an ROI on that after a few turns. And usually after Jaraxxus is played, the game is over in 1-3 turns anyway. In short he's always sorta been in this weird position of being really good but not quite enough to be a game-winning staple.

Zilliax is a staple in all control decks and likely will be for the rest of the year, but I don't think it really makes or breaks decks, and it's going to rotate out next year. I'd personally rather craft something from this set that's core to a deck, like Boom, or that looks like it'll be good for two years, like Kalecgos, but if you just want something that's really solid no matter what (non-aggro) deck you're building for the rest of the year, and intend to play enough to craft more relevant stuff for after the rotation later, then Zilliax is a good choice.

Both plays involve doing nothing for your first few turns. If you're playing a zoo/token deck, you have plenty of time to develop a board on those turns. If you're a control deck, you have answers. Slow, singular minions with fat stats have never been that much of an issue unless they have some kind of synergy or lack appropriate penalty like Flamewreathed Faceless.

Handlock has been dead for at least 3 years from the original Molten nerf back at the first rotation. Zoolock is pretty eternal though; it was only garbage in 1 meta (Un'Goro).

Ok so I just crafted a handlock deck over handmage, so I'm completely biased, but reasons handlock is better: Shadow flame, Sunfury Protector, Omega Agent, Ancient Watcher, Ratcatcher, and Lord Jaraxxus all work very well with each other. Also no other class has the amount of board clears you can run. I mean you have Twisting Nether, Lord Godfrey, Shadow Flame, and hellfire, not even mentioning siphon which is amazing as Warlocks always can use the heals. Mage has Astromancer, Khadgar, Power of Creation, Jan'alai DragonHawk, and Khalegos, but cmon, they don't have jaraxxus, and I guess the whole point of this is that's why handlock is better.

yep handlock is better, he needed to cut the aranasi broodmother, and run a second nether. I personally ran single argus for a third taunt giver and didn't run doomsayer or ooze. I ran double spellbreaker, 1x arcane watcher, and 1x dalaran librarian for more power in the early game. Instead of doomsayer and playing passive in the early game, I was instead the beatdown in most matchups even beating up rogues. I got legend with the list too :) Super skeptical of hand mage, I beat it pretty much every time. It's very easy to beat as long as you don't let it stick a minion and warlock is very good at clearing the board endlessly forever

Mamady Ouedraogo Godfrey is very important, Rafaam is not that necessary but it’s good vs bomb warriors and Hakkar decks. Don’t play it in any other matchups

At Legend ranks, Handlock won't work. Rogues that can kill as early as turn-5 without coin. They have Saps/Vendettas for the taunts and direct damage for the face. They run out of cards? They Unstable Element to draw their entire deck for more burn/removal. Maybe after a Rogue nerf this deck will work.
