Dear Emily - thank you so much for all you do on your videos. I am from the UK and over the last 6 months and at the age of 68 have finally lost a ton of weight. Well, not a ton, that would be silly, but 48 pounds. I found you through your cutting your own pixie video, looked at your other suff and thought YES!! This is where I want to go after a lifetime of being invisible and a good girl - I want edge! I have had to buy a whole new wardrobe - oh dear, what a shame, never mind - and with ebay and charity shops (thrift stores to you) now have a classic, edgy, minimalist closet that I absolutely love, thanks to you (though I can't find those awesome vagabond boots). I also loved it because it was a response to pause and begs us to be intentional and sustainable! I have to admit I have unfollowed people whose message is to throw out this and replace it with this because for me it sends me the wrong message! I always make choices that are aligned with being kind to the earth avoiding waste, and being kind to my fellow humans in the production of my clothes, providing safer working environments for people making clothes! LOVE LOVE this video, Emily! I think that 2024 has been a difficult year for so many. I'm not entirely sure why that is. For me, there were changes associated with moving back to Des Moines, Iowa after being away for many years, loss of two younger cousins, and now health issues with my youngest son (41 yr). As I was watching this video, I was writing down thoughts that were invading my mind. (1) EDGY- a more "refined" form of trendy (2)There's drama, chic, simplicity, and style all wrapped up in EDGY (3) There were emotions evoked through the use of dramatic elements. It made me feel strong, powerful and ready to conquer the day, all while feeling confident in myself (4) I turned 70 (on December 7th) so I don't feel that over-the-top-edgy works for me, but elements of edgy does work (5) Throughout this year, you have helped me to reconsider, restyle, redefine just what my style actually IS. The labels of CLASSIC or TRENDY never seemed to quit capture the essence of my style. But, then, Emily, you helped me to understand all the directions that edgy could go. I found that EDGY wasn't just for the super young, or punk, or gothic. I found that EDGY has that bit of "spice", that DRAMATIC element. But, not too much, just a sprinkling. So, a big THANK YOU, Emily, for helping me find my style and the confidence to embrace it. Here's to the best year coming in 2025!

Emily I’m very fond of your work and I can’t miss a single new one. But I confess my very favorite was the last one 😊 It was so very well edited , the music, the aesthetic, and the message.
