Miss Medi did that once. Except she wasn't bmer. She was soft claiming med/ret (oh no doctor don't leave there could be med/ret!) She decided to whisper the doctor as soon as night ended because if she was ret, she would bring back doctor. Well, the blackmailer who was randomly bming, bmed the real ret. And it was the funniest game I have ever seen

I was TirrePirre (invest) this game and i must say that the lynch on sakura was annoying as hell lol, totally missed the n3 results from you as well as the fact that i was a fairly quiet townie, watching this video provided me a better insight on what i have to work on to become a better ToS player! I was in a game once where it got down to 3 people and they decided to give the jester the win and lynched them. the next morning, the last mafia and last townie were both dead because the mafioso killed the townie and the jester killed the mafioso. It said the jester was the winner because they were the only person who won.

I'm surprised by the amount of people in the comments saying "nothing special about it". Though I think Skimm still needs to pay more attention to others' wills in the morning (missed the Escort dying to SK and was late to jump on that train, which could have appeared sus), I'm giving this a thumbs up cause that play was awesome. It wasn't just the play; Skimm pretty much had town pocketed. That's important, too.

Your "best blackmail" was using it ONCE the entire game. And, true, it did help win you the game, so can't really argue with that! Witch finding Vigilante first night AND killing mafia is extremely rare and extremely unlucky for everybody involved (Witch taking out mafia, mafia losing a member right off the bat, Vigilante being found out as a toy), but kinda funny to see your reaction. A nice game, though. I like watching videos where you win rather than when you lose. So this was nice!

I find people overuse Blackmails. Because I was claiming Spy, I didn't want to BM until it was going to win us the Majority.

best strat as BMer is to keep your bms until very late game indeed. Also : "I am BMer so I have to claim spy" -> eeeh... depends honstly. You could claim plenty of other roles depending on whether or not you find invests through scumreads, also you have forger so you can overwrite wills if need be whenever you find an invest that has info on you.

The claiming spy does tend to work best if you haven't been using your blackmails, send out decent townie vibes and you slip under the radar until it's too late for town to do anything about it. And another plus about using blackmails late game is town is more likely to assume the accused is faking it.

I had this game yesterday, i was vet and i used the typical vet bait saying 'role plz' just about before the day ended, i killed consort and arso. Since maf already knew i was vet i said 'lmfao i cant believe this bait still gets people' so spy whispered me if i was the vet, i said yes and the day ends. N2 i alert again cause most evils dont expect it and i didnt think any townie would visit me. But the spy did, he died and had in his will that i know his role and if he dies, the town should lynch me. So even though i got 2 evils N1 and the spy gets killed by veteran when he bugged me (he even had it in his will damnit) they go ahead and lynch me ;_; I made the mistake to get salty there and now im permabanned (doesnt matter if i never sweared again or gamethrowed i guess)

A question, what exactly did you say? I mean would it be enough to qualify as Hate Speech/Harassment, which I highly doubt, and it shouldn't be a perma unless trial system has found you guilty of multiple offenses. ie. You've done some bad things in the past.

I didn't even know BMG actually perma-banned people. Most folks make new accounts when they get banned (the reason I stopped participating in the Trial system; felt it was useless after seeing how many people boast about what account number they're up to). Unless you said something really bad or racial, it's weird that you'd get perma-banned (unless it's not your first offense). I haven't played in a while, but back when I played, they had a sort of "strike" system which included banning for a couple days, then a week, then the account goes bye-bye...or something like that.

Well he didnt perform blacmailing a person until it was needed so town actually didnt have many reasons to believe there is actually a bmer. And his best move - convincing Sakura was lying was based on that.

Claiming spy and bm'ing people is a bad call often cus it's obvious. But there was no reason for them to suspect a Blackmailer because I didn't blackmail until I needed to in order to win.

lol, no, i played a bg game when sheriff cought a mafia night one, the Neutral Evil died, and we knew mafia didnt have a framer(confirmed spy said the person who came up as mafia wasnt visited, so she wasnt framed, so she was mafia.) Ik this is a year old, but you made a lot of mistakes in this game. You missed the escort dying to sk, thought you were forger at the start, and made two different night 5 wills. You changed your bug from night 5 and were lucky that the town didn’t catch on. You also didn’t say your bugged target was attacked when he was visited by 2 mafia.

If there is no spy, it no longer matters what maf you are, you can be confirmed spy. Step one, say you bugged the person who is receiving a message (bm'ed, rb'ed, etc). Step two, successfully say what happened to them, especially if it was bmer visit

I was playing as BM once and I didn't claim anything until I was asked. No one questioned it either when I just made up my will on the spot in the chat and copied it into my actual will. The maf was doing great till day 6 when there was a jester, and a vet left. The jester was saying from day 4 that I was maf, but no one believed them. By the time they were hung the vet had no alerts left, AND was outnumbered by the three mafia members, needless to say we won the game lol.

How to fix Blackmailer: allow only _one_ accusation cancel. No useful information can be passed until the trial starts. Even with the fix, the way people play is too aggressive. Even with the fix, doing it on the first 3 nights is probably a bad idea unless you have a way to convince the town to lynch the Jailor (because that's worth more than keeping a Blackmailer a secret existence). Even with the fix, it will be worth timing. Still, the fix would be helpful.

When I play I usually copy someone's name and maybe confuse town a little. So one game I was BM and it was a really close game, and the guy whos name I copied claimed ret. For the rest of the game I blackmailed him and stole his identity in a way, town ended up hanging him.
