Tenkara just has to be the most satisfying way to fish, utter simplicity, delicate presentation and no gear to cart around.

Definitely David. It’s so much fun, and as I’ve said before, it’s the simplicity that attracted me to tenkara.

Could be if it’s not a trout I really wouldn’t know so tend to rely on others to identify them for me.

Surprised there are still trout in the slow and cloudy bits. Nice vid. New to tenkara, hope to catch some fish soon.

Sorry for late reply. Yes plenty of fish right the way though. The other brook I fish locally has been cloudy all season so far. Not sure why. Hope it’s cleared up by the time I get home in a couple of weeks.

Enjoying the video, just tying some kebari on this snowy evening in readiness for the spring, I've been making some tenkara scoop nets as I enjoy the process,I've struggled to find the nets with the measurements in the bottom, wondered if you'd be kind enough to tell me where you got yours? All the best Russ

Hi Russ. Thanks for watching. I got the net from a company called measure net. There website is measurefish.com/ there is a link in the description of any video that features the nets. Great nets. I have the small and the medium size. Well worth the money. They are based in the USA so if your not in the US you probably will have to contact the company through email and arrange postage. Jeff the owner of the company is very helpful and accommodating. I’m hoping to get out and fish tomorrow and at the weekend. Had a lot on my plate in the past couple of months so found it really hard to get out. So fingers crossed I catch some fish 🤞🏼

Thanks for your reply Andy 👍 really appreciate it, I'm in Sheffield & we're lucky here to have some fabulous streams & rivers locally with wild brown trout to 2/3 lb & lots of grayling, of course lots of Sheffield lies within the Peak District too, I fell in love with the simplicity of tenkara, wonderful, have a great weekend & thanks again

It must be hard to keep the line from getting snagged on all the bushes all around you when both casting and moving position up the stream etc

Yep it can do and often does

What fly /size were you using? Looks like a great day. Caught a couple of nice 12" brown trout in Nidderdale last week on size 12 CDCs. First time using Tenkara tackle.

I was using a cream coloured yarn bodied weighted futsu kebari. The futsu is my go to fly. Mainly because I’m crap at tying flies, but I can tie these ok. If you check out my Instagram (link in the description) you will see a pic of it. I have 4 of different colours in my hand. I used the light colour one.
