( using Bing translator ) Hello and first of all thank you for your help. I've been with my AU810PW projector for a short time and it's the first time I've been introduced to this world. I hope with your video to make the image look even more beautiful. I understand that all these settings are for SDR modes and that they would be valid for HD and 4K. And that only as you say in HDR images would only be to play with Color. Thank you very much and all your help is very well received, K-Man.

Hey KMan, hope all is well! Would you suggest the settings in this video to still be the best considering you posted it about an year ago? Or have you got even better settings from your testing? Also do you recommend adding madvr to this projector? I've got the gray Qualgear 120" 0.9 gain screen you had recommended.

I'm doing good thanks for asking! Hope all is well with you! I have messed around from time to time with it. But nothing crazy like I was in the beginning 😂 I got laid off last year and got a new job paying more but working me at night, so I now only get 2 nights a week to play movie's on it 🤦 I will double check and see what I can share this Saturday when I'm off. I think Madvr if you can afford it and want to go that route will not only make this projector perfect, but will make any projector in the world look perfect 😎. I have been focusing more on audio lately and just got the RSL speedwoofer 12s 👍 It's far superior to most I've heard!

Hey! I have trouble getting cyan colours on most of the contents. It’s all in dark Blue shades. Is it the projector or do we have to adjust the colour setting?

So sorry for the delay response! Have you made all the adjustment that I posted? And if so what is the picture mode you are using? And what color profile, warm? Cool? In the middle?

Hi K Man, thanks for the great video...I currenty have the Epson 5050UB and was wondering are you happy with black levels/contrast...I am wanting laser but dont want to give up the stellar contrast of the 5050UB so your feedback is very important in my decision...thanks in advance.
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! I've tried the Epson 5050UB in my living room and was not impressed with the lumens after calibration nor did I like the screen door effect. To me the sharp 4k image with bright vibrant colors was what I was looking for. It's very hard for me to say if the LG will work for you because all projectors behave differently in different places. The LG doesn't have motorized lens with memory and motorized focus not to mention lens cap but once you eliminate those elements the LG starts to become the clear winner. As far as black level, that is the most subjective measurement I've ever had the misfortune of being in a discussion about 🤦😊 To me the black level looks the same as the Epson and almost identical to the JVC Nx7 🤷 But I've had people call me crazy or say I didn't know what a good projector looks like 🤔 But here is a little nugget, anyone who has watched a movie on this LG has said that it looks better than any movie theater they have ever been to! Another thing to consider is that the LG out of the box color and all picture settings are so bad you will want to return it immediately 😁 But once you dig in to the massive amount of screen and color adjustments then it will make this projector a beast! I've had mine for a year and 2 months and still love how awesome it is! One last thing, the main reason I went with the LG was due to the laser light source over bulbs. Because bulbs lose 40% at 500 hours and I currently have 600 hours on my LG. Hope this helps 🤷 If not ask me more questions and I will try to stay as neutral as possible 🤞

Thank you for sharing the settings! Are these settings accessible from the normal settings menu or you have to enter the hidden calibration menu for this? I've ordered this projector can't wait to get it but for some reason the wait is so long. LG has come out with the new HU710PW which is a hybrid of led and laser. Wonder how it stacks up against this one. I'll be ordering my screen as well. Would you say the screen you have is the best one? The room will be light controlled, but with some ambient lighting when just watching regular TV content.
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome! As for screen this one is as perfect as you can get and the price is even better. I think the 135 is cheaper. As for the settings it's in the menu chain I show in this video. When your projector arrives just let me know and I'll help! As for the new hybrid projector, I'm not sure since I have not seen anyone submit a decent review or much of a review at all. I do know it has an external power supply 😧 And that it has less lumens 👎 So far its not promising.
@nabeelk61122 жыл бұрын
@@kman9387 thank you that would be greatly appreciated. I was reading the owner's forum and apparently you can even get into the calibration menu like the AU810 model, but no point if you can a nice picture from the normal settings you suggested. Yes the new one was a no go for me as soon as I saw the external power supply! This one seems to be the best bang for the buck, but here in Ontario just not sure why I've been told I'll get my pre-ordered unit in May or if lucky then April. I've been looking to get a 125" screen but I see they only come in 120 or 135 and bigger.
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
@@nabeelk6112 Did you order from LG? Also another negative about the hybrid model is the unreliability of LED lifespan, even LED christmas lights don't hold up after a year 🤦 But lasers are very reliable 👍

@@kman9387 glad to hear I made the right choice. No I ordered from a local electronics store here in Ontario. Didn't know I could order directly from LG here in Canada
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
@@nabeelk6112 it's cool, I just know that a bunch of people who bought from Value electronics got bad units with all kinds of issues. Most had to return them for exchange or refund and some also had to return more than once. But all others sold elsewhere and from LG have had no issues.

How hot does a laser projector like this get compared to dlp? And fan noise?
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
This is a DLP projector. Most projectors are DLP with HID style light bulbs in them. This one uses lasers to achieve the light. It has a 20,000 and up to 30,000 hour's the laser is good for vs the 3,000 hours you get from a bulb. It does not get as hot as bulb projectors. Fan noise is negligible, especially if you have surround sound. Let me know if you have any other questions 👍
@ER-rt9le2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I meant compared to lamp based dlp of course. What kind of screen are you using? I have a Screen Innovations Slate 5 alr screen currently. I imagine it would improve the contrast of this projector some. I have a epson 5050ub but it’s having issues and I want a laser based projector to replace it

Are these the settings for hdr or sdr thanks
@kman93872 жыл бұрын
These are for SDR. They will also work for HDR. but since the color gets boosted and the HDR messes with the brightness and contrast I would recommend making the adjustments I show on this video, then tweak the color intensity, contrast and brightness. Let me know if you have any questions. Also I don't use any HDR as I disabled it on my Firestick max and Panasonic UB420. The HDR only makes it too dim for me to watch. SDR still gives me the true 4k image but only turns off that annoying dimming and boosted color.

Sorry to say, that after 12 months of ownership, this is BY FAR the worst projector I've had...non stop issues from flickering, split screening and freezing...
@kman93876 ай бұрын
I've heard a mixed bag from many in the AVS forums. 50% of people got a perfect one and the other 50% have various issues. Mine had zero problems. It was the first batch that was sent out from LG. I bought it straight from LG. No doubt you may be experiencing issues. 6 months ago I just upgraded to the Sony XW5000ES. The colors look similar the brightness is similar but contrast on the Sony is next level crazy!

WOW! I've heard great things about the Sony, but be warned, sxrd panels will lose contrast over time, they all do, so enjoy it while it's great brother!👍

@kman9387 OH, and by the way, we both made the wrong choice, the HU710 is the better projector with better colours, and much better blacks

@bryanp4827 Thanks! Luckily the new LCOS chips don't degrade. The old ones did due to the lamps and organic materials used.
@kman93876 ай бұрын
@bryanp4827 I haven't seen many reviews on this model yet. I know the contrast should be way better due to using a DLP chip.
