What’s the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding about?
Julianne Potter (Julia Roberts from Erin Brockovich and Pretty Woman) is a successful and independent food critic. Over dinner with her closest friend George (Rupert Everett from Another Country), she reminisces about her past relationship with Michael O’Neal (Dermot Mulroney from Young Guns and About Schmidt), a freelance sports writer. They made a half-serious promise to each other that if neither found a mate before they turned 28, they would marry each other. Soon afterward, Jules receives a call from Michael, who tells her he has met that special someone: Kim Wallace (Cameron Diaz from The Mask and There's Something About Mary), the daughter of a billionaire baseball team owner. He asks his best friend to visit him in Chicago. Jules becomes desperate to win Michael for herself. She travels to Chicago, meets Kim, and realizes that this girl really is perfect. Nevertheless, she embarks on a campaign to turn Michael and Kim against each other. George joins her, and attempts to help her face the truth. As the wedding date approaches, her attempts fail. However, just before the wedding, Michael gets a message that throws his relationship with Kim seriously into doubt...and gives Jules her chance to share her true feelings with Michael.

She had 9 yrs to say something. She only cared once she thought she was losing her safety net. At that point she did not deserve anymore chances. Kimmy was nothing but kind to her the entire time knowing their history. I'm glad she finally stepped down and accepted things for what it became.

​​@@Bella-Mae0422 FACTS!!!!! Kimmie did nothing wrong and you know what's the sad thing, Kimmie never once considered Julianne to be the enemy. She didn't hate her. The dislike was clearly one sided. Kimmie genuinely liked Julianne. She was nice to her and welcomed her with open arms and what does Julianne do in return? She tries to sabotage her wedding and steak her fiancé. Who does that? In the end, Michael did the right thing. He married the right woman. Kimmie was clearly the better woman. Unlike Julianne, it didn't take Kimmie 9 years to know that Michael was the one. Julianne was too late and when you're late, you're late. You could tell by the look on Michael's face that he had been waiting forever to hear those words but it came a little too late.

As a man, I am telling you, the moment was under the bridge. She forced him to make up his mind by not saying it then. That’s when he needed to hear it, not after he’d made up his mind on the day of the wedding. He’s a good, loyal man. In this moment, even though she was being sincere, I think he felt it was more competitive. When he really knew she meant it, was when she dedicated their song to them. His goodbye to her was when he sang it to her, her goodbye to him was when she gave the song to them.

Those of us that are experienced with relationships have learned that chasing you will never work Let this movie serve as an example but you don't get to have something after you've let it slip through your fingers .
