As a huge proponent of Isometrics; I so value the introduction of new ideas like what you been doing lately on the channel. They are worthy of another book. Thanks Matt.

Much thanks, I've got a lot of new things coming out. A new book, or two, or maybe even three is very possible.

I injured my shoulders so many times with repetitive sets using dumbles. Such a setback was having to wait for a full recovery. Also owned a set of straps for a long time and never used them the way Matt instructs here. Such an eye-opener! Thank you, buddy!

THANK YOU, MATT!!! FYI: I LOVE THE "ISOMETRIC" EXERCISES!! THEY'RE SIMPLY DONE, AND REQUIRE ALMOST NO EQUIPMENT!!... NOW, I'M GETTING RID OF ALL OF MY UNNECESSARY "OTHER" EXERCISE EQUIPMENT (DUMB BELLS, ELASTIC BANDS, ETC.!

Got to say Matt - recently come across your videos - its all been absolute fantastic. The way to explain is excellent and your approach and attitude is totally inspirational. I was introduced to these techniques in the name of timed static contractions by Drew Baye.

Great work Matt thanks 🤙 any suggestions to get me started towards pull ups. I only have straps and floor space, no bench available doors or ceiling anchor points. Thanks again. 👍👍💪💪

Rows are the bread and butter for now Peter. hang those straps from a door anchor and practice your rows, single arms rows, and high-rows. (where you row with your elbows pointing out to the side)

...WHEN DOING THE "(SEATED) BICEP CURLS", YOU COULD "CROSS" THE STRAPS, TO PULL ACROSS THE ABDOMEN/THIGHS.

Helloo Matt Which training is better doing pullup warmup 2 sets and 2 sets max good rep(example 7rep) or doing volume work warmup_+sets of 5 sets of 4 of 3 many sets without failure ????

Hello Matt, does it matter how far my hands are from my legs when I'm doing the rows? I find that my hands tend to move higher up during the exercise. Is that a problem? I'd appreciate a response.

Hey Matt, I want to increase my reps on pull ups. Is doing pull ups twice a week enough to do that? Any tactics to help increase my reps?

Do you find that incorporating isometrics into a weightlifting routine can help to build more strength with the weights?

Hey Matt, I've always experienced forearm pain with drag curls (also I can't feel my biceps working), what can that be caused by? I don't have particular trouble engaging my biceps with pullups and rows in general, it's specific to isometric exercices (this one in particular).
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject Жыл бұрын
I've experienced the same and yes, it may very well be a lack of biceps activation. Try using a slightly different angle of the forearm, maybe using the hands a little lower or higher and see if that helps.

Hey Matt, Do you think it is important or almost necessary to load the spine ie barbell squats to keep the core and trunk strong Especially as we get older (over 40) I have been hearing that lately,wanted to know if there is any validity to that since you have a lot more knowledge and experience than I. Thank you for the great content as always. I hope your move to Denver is going well

Some awesome ones in here I've been looking for, the back is a big one for me. I've been getting some blisters on my hands though, think I need gloves or something different then my larger PVC grips?
@RedDeltaProject
@RedDeltaProject Жыл бұрын
Are the grips smooth or do they have grip texture on them? I run the tip of a razor blade on my PVC handles to give them some grip texture. it's more gentle on the skin because you don't have to grip as hard that way.

One of your best videos on this subject, with some great new ideas I will definitely try out. I've tried transitioning from the high row into an isometric facepull, which hits different muscles.
