A number of people I follow on KZbin use drones to excellent effect as you have. However, I've never seen the "money shots" or any other shots for that matter deconstructed in this way. As someone whose photographic skill level is pretty much at point and shoot while keeping the horizon level and not putting the subject smack in the middle, it's given me a much keener appreciation for the art and skill involved. (Bonus: I live close enough to the FDC to venture over there on a day trip. Thanks for the inspiration.) As for not hitting the train or the sign or the trees, you had all sorts of overhead wires to contend with, too. Well done.

YAAASS!!! Train video!!! Remember the days when you were a kid and every Saturday morning you wake up before the sun rises to watch Saturday morning cartoons? That's what it feels like watching your videos - its become part of my early Saturday morning routine. I LOVE these kinds of museums/parks. You're so lucky to have been able to go into such a place and experience some of the more detailed behind-the-scenes stuff. You're pretty good with the drone - great shots of the train.

Great video. Choo choo trains are a fascination that begins in early childhood and is a part of our early vocabulary. Some of the local lines still do sightseeing and/or dinner trips. Many zoos have a train as well as amusement parks. It's evident that the love of trains is in our DNA. Thanks for sharing the "movie magic" reverse shot and the calming beauty of the surroundings.

Another great train and railway video, @DownieLive. It's always great to see your support for trains and railways. Check out the restoration of the Nashville, Chattanooga, and St. Louis steam locomotive 576. After sitting in Nashville's Centennial Park for 66 years, it is currently undergoing restoration to return to steam power on the Nashville and Eastern as an excursion train. A number of large grants, including support from CSX, are making it possible. She should be moving under her own power in two to three years. Also, if you ever pass through Atlanta, check out the Southeastern Railway Museum. It is a great collection of vintage railroad equipment. Sadly, though, most of their steam equipment is inoperable. Check them out. Thanks for your support of the railroad industry. I look forward to your Saturday videos. A train video is an added bonus!

I'm no expert, but many of these had to be difficult shots to film. Years ago this kind of footage required a whole crew of professionals. What you did here takes a lot of creativity and a good eye, Michael. These shots held my interest. I think it's all remarkable, and will serve the BC Forest Discovery Centre well. Years ago one of my Architecture profs' favorite sayings was "take time to know." He was speaking in terms of visualizing your context, and that definitely applies to photography. I think you brought out the very best in this place. If the boarders weren't closed right now, this would be on my list as a must-see in the near future.

I'm a commercially licensed drone pilot. This is what I do for a living. You asked us to let you know what we thought about your shots, so here is my comments. Excellent. You're exactly right that those shots are difficult to obtain, and in situations like you were in there, with trees, a train, signs, and overhead wires to contend with, you did a SUPER job. Most people I've been associated with can't pull these shots off that well. So yeah. Great job, it adds an incredible dynamic to videos. I love your videos, and I'm enjoying the channel. Stay safe, and keep em coming. PS> I've got a question about that particular drone, I've been thinking about something with one like that. DM or email me if you get time some where up the road.

Well, Mike, you have made my day with this video. I decided to stay up late to be amongst the first to view this week's offering (its 1.20am Sunday 2nd August as I type this). I see my fellow Melburnian James Walker has already commented. We really appreciate your creativity because it looks like we might be going into a harsher form of lockdown due to the explosion in new COVID cases over the last week. I visited the Forest Discovery Centre back in September 1989 (my first visit to Canada) and it was in its infancy then. What a great attraction it has now become. Your Drone Skills are absolutely brilliant but, as Don Hurst mentioned, take care around any form of transport corridor so you don't cause distraction or mayhem. Drone videography is becoming quite popular with railfans down here in Aus but has been frowned upon in some quarters. So long as you don't fly within the designated 'Danger Zone' and abide by the local regulations applicable to drones, it would be great to see how you cope with capturing rail action in the Fraser Canyon around the Cisco Bridges. Thanks again and stay safe. Cheers from Michael downunder.

So many things! We took my dad and step-mum to Vancouver Island, hitting Butchart Gardens (like all good tourists do) toured the Parliament Building and the Inner harbour in Victoria. We didn't stop in Duncan, so I missed oat on the hockey stick and puck (so bummed). This was the last trip my dad made to visit us. He passed away 10 years ago, but he got to see some beautiful BC, eh? You also gave me flashbacks of my job transporting rail crews. Interesting job, really up close to trains. Too bad the company had a poor management structure. Awesome shots! You captured great footage for the discovery centre. You might've found your backup job if this Wuhaun virus hangs around.

I think I may have said this before but your KZbin presentation, including filming and narration is done incredibly well. Superb shots, angles and expert flying. I bought the Mavic mini a while now but haven't really got out with it....I think you've inspired me to get into gear. Looking forward to your next video

Not only is this a video of another wonderful place to visit in BC, but a good tutorial of drone filming. Seems complicated, but it would be good to do a short "how-to" video basics of drone filming? Thanks for taking us with you Mike.
