‼️Correction: at 1:54 I misquoted the species of the tooth in my hand. The extinct great white is Carcharodon *hastalis* and not C. carcharias as I said on camera!!

Excellent find, Ashby! Would like to hear more about C. Hubbelli. Are those common to the SC lowcountry?
@CharlestonFossilAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck, thanks for watching! I am familiar with a couple reported C. hubbelli from here in SC, but they are very scarce. We probably have more than we know about, but erosion has worn away the minute crenellations.

Hello!!! I am planning on going to Emerald Isle tomorrow morning on my first fossil shark’s tooth hunt. Sad to say that I am from an island and it has taken me almost 70 years to do this!! Any suggestions as to what part of E I is best for a beginner and/or do you have a visit planned for tomorrow? An adventure with a renowned expert such as you would be more than I could hope for, but, I still ask.
