On the train to the moon scene, when Miguel was telling him he’s “The Original Anomaly”, he’s 100% correct. Miles was not supposed to have been bitten. His universe already had a spider-man.

We don’t know if he’s correct that it’s NOT supposed to happen tho. If it happens in the course of nature then it’s supposed to happen. There’s always the fact that Miguel is misjudging what is actually the cause of the universes being destroyed. He’s created all these rules and issues based on a theory of what he thinks happens, not what he absolutely knows. I think that’s why he had issue with Gwen questioning him when she asked if he knew for a fact that what miles was doing would cause the collapsing of the universes. He couldn’t answer.

@@TheIcemanthomas So true. Difference between Miguel and Miles is that Miguel created an incursion explained in Dr Strange 2 but Miles is an anomaly so the rules don’t apply to him.

@@victor4782 every time someone questioned Miguel he never answered directly to the question . For example when Miles said “that wasn’t me it was the spot,” Miguel says “it’s what happens when you break the canon,” hinting he doesn’t fully understand the multiverse. That’s why when Gwen asked him “do you know what happens for certain if he breaks the canon,” he still didn’t answer the question 😂😂

@@victor4782 and if Miles wasn’t supposed to be Spider-Man his dimension would’ve collapsed already and Gwen’s world would’ve collapsed because he father quit(breaking the canon) and Earth 42 would’ve collapsed because the Spider-Man didn’t bite 42 Miles

Fun fact: Hobie's animation seems chaotic and random but there's a pattern. For example when he's interacting with someone he cares about, like Gwen, Mayday, or Miles, he turns pink!

A few people have theorized that most of the Spider-Society were only putting in a token effort to catch Miles, as they understood the whole point of the Uncle Ben story was that they unknowingly let the mugger get away, and that deep down they didn't agree with Miles being forced to knowingly stand back and let the mugger (Spot) go, so only a handful were actually putting in serious effort to catch Miles.

Plus they’re all heroes, even if they fully agree the most they want to do is just contain Miles. Miguel is the only one who gets violent and arguably even tries to kill Miles.

I was a bit apprehensive when I first saw the trailer for portraying Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 in an antagonistic way because Miguel is a far cry from a villain and he's also my all-time favourite Spider-Man in the comics but the movie did an amazing job for portraying him not as the villain but more like an opposing force. Also just to clarify, he is not part vampire. That was just a joke they made in the movie becuse he has fangs which can secrete paralyzing venom.

Miguel is not a vampire instead o getting bit by a spider he was tested on and his DNA is now half spider which is why he has claws and fangs that have a paralyzing venom in the comics he even has natural webs like Tobey

Gwen Spidey-sense could feel Miles in Danger in another dimeson. Miles (Earth-42) dad died earlier in his life judging by how his accent is more pronounced from being more with his mom (Rio) more.

I think gwen talked to Miles's parents at the end because they were blaming themselves and she was trying to stop them. She just didn't think ahead. Also, when Spot says he pulled a spider from the other dimension, the image shows the spider about to bite that world's Miles (notice the braids). So that Miles wasn't bit, and became the prowler (I still think he's a secret vigilante, not a villain, being a good prowler with his uncle's help after Jeff died). But it DID leave that world without a spiderman. I think Miguel is wrong to blame miles. He should blame Spot and Kingpen. The spider was supposed to bite miles morales... So it did. Just the one in the wrong dimension.

So if you go back to when Spot was narrating having “brought a spider here from another dimension”, at 10:44 in your reaction, it was about to bite a student with braids - the Miles who then became the Prowler. To say that Miguel was right on that one point - if Spot hadn’t brought that spider there, it would have bitten the Earth-42 Miles, and he would have become Spider-Man - Prowler Miles and Spider-Man Miles swapped fates. There were Easter eggs to this in the first film - Miles’ Peter was just about to stop the collider, but then stopped to save the falling Miles - and when their Spider-Senses first connected, Miles’ was the purple-green colour of the Prowler before changing to the red-blue of Spider-Man. To say that at the end of this film, Miles is confronted with (a version of) what he could have become if he had never been bitten, remaining close with his uncle and distanced from his father. I'm in the camp that doesn't believe that Earth 42 Miles is evil. For one, where it shows The Spot talking about stealing the spider from another universe, the person it was headed towards looks just like Earth 42 Miles. And two, the news reports make it sound like The Sinister Six (a group of classic Spider-Man villains) are running pretty rampant. It mentions The Sinister Six Cartels in the background. So, I think he's a hero, just one who had to make do without the powers.

You are the FIRST reactor ive seen who doesn't just take Miguel's ideas at face-value. I swear, media literacy is on LIFE SUPPORT these days. When an antagonist (like Miguel) expresses an idea (like how the multiverse works), that's the story saying that THAT idea is wrong. So Gwen's dad quitting doesn't mean that he "doesn't have to die," it means Miguel is WRONG about the Canon.

@AzulApe You actually just proved my point. Stories AREN'T ABOUT the literal events on screen. They're built out of symbols and metaphors. We saw Pav's universe start to collapse, yes. But that doesn't mean Miguel is right about WHY. And again, Miguel is the antagonist, and in a STORY that MEANS he's wrong. We'll find out the in-story WHY in Beyond the Spiderverse, and that too will be a metaphor. And sometimes (as in this movie) they sneakily spell out the metaphor for you. Hobie referred to the quantum hole as "a metaphor for capitalism." And what's the rest of the movie about? The older generation insisting at the younger that, "This is the way it's always been, so this is the way it always has to be. If you even TRY to make something better, it'll just ruin everything." Hell, it even has Miguel attempt to IMPRISON a young black/Latino man for daring to QUESTION the system he's on top of. It's not even subtle, but still managed to fly right over your head.

You dragging race into it says a lot about you. Miguel is in charge and he’s Latino and his right hand is a black woman. So what are you even talking about? Lmao, keep reaching and stay ignorant.

@@AzulApe How does that prove the canon isn't wrong? The hole in Pav's dimension could just as easily be because of Spot tearing holes through dimensions. In fact that would make even more sense since he's the one who started this in the first place by bringing the spider from Earth 42 to Earth 1610 where it bit Miles and he literally helped work on the Collider project that caused all these problems

I don’t think him telling his parents would play out too well. Don’t get me wrong there are renditions of the story where it works out just fine like the PS4 game however this Miles really wants his freedom especially away from his parents. Even though they want to let him use his spark his own way it’s clear they can’t help but involve themselves. They would probably “accept” he’s spiderman yeah but his father would definitely try to coach his vigilante-ing. His mother might get too close or familiar with him while on duty and we all know what happens to love interests and family when they get too close. Just my opinion though, I think people were/are painting a very perfect image in their mind of how it would go if he told them and I don’t think that’s the case. They’d accept he’s spiderman under the circumstances they can supervise it which I can’t see Miles wanting

That Rakim song near the beginning is straight fire. 1997 was a great year for rap. Biggie, Puff Daddy, Mase, Busta Rhymes, Jay Z, Missy Elliott and Wyclef Jean to name a few. And of course, possibly the best rap song of all time “Triumph” from the Wu-Tang Clan. Wu-Tang is for the children!!!

When you think about how spiders eat, Miguel being a bit vampiric makes a certain amount of sense. Also, for the next movie, I fear for Rio more than I do for Jeff. Save Jeff, BUT.... actions have consequences....... :(

Actually Miguel is telling the truth Miles Morales was not posed to be Spider-Man in first place that means the Peter that we know from the first one posed to live but he died saving miles Miguel knew about it from the beginning you can hear the rage in Miguel voice it feels like Miguel and that Peter was close friends

i think it makes sense to me they show some live action in this movie because of the muliverse maybe another dimension the world is real life live action and another dimension it's cartoon animation and another world it's video game i think this is the best movie because of that i love it when most movies mind blown us with that another reason why i think that's amazing idea because spider-man byond the spider-verse is going to blow us away with big huge crossover muliverse dimension with live action, video game and animatied cartoon universes i think that would be epic in my honest opinion i know some think live action and animation should never mix i disagree with that because i think it does make sense to mix difference versions if it's a muliverse movie

One political party in the US is against teaching Americans about the country's past, what it has done to reconcile with its past (not a whole lot), or its five territories that it continues to leave out of crucial governing matters--American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Americans will let you fight its wars, but won't give you a seat at the table ='( 19:01 You already know now that every Spider-Person in this story is a Spider-Man Variant. In most universes, Spider-Man is Peter Parker as we see with the members of the Spider Society, but if you take a look at the Spider Society a little more closely, you'll see that the Multiverse is more complex than we originally imagined. Not only are people in the Multiverse variants but so are their alter egos! This is why we see completely different people living the life of a Spider-Man Variant like Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Miguel O'Hara, Jessica "Jess" Drew, Hobie Brown, and Margo Kess. Spider-Man variants are as diverse as Peter Parker Variants in the universe. Have you been keeping count? We have seen numerous Peter Parkers with familiar features though maybe older, younger, taller, shorter, or with even a different hairstyle or color, but there are also Peter Parker Variants that are as different as the Loki Variants we saw in the Loki series too. Peni Parker, Peter Porker, Pavitr Prabhakar, Peter Parkedcar, and Ben Reilly (a perfect clone of Peter Parker in the comics) are all Peter Parker Variants in this story. The Multiverse is an infinite number of the same universe, each with subtle differences from neighboring universes, but the subtle differences get bigger the farther the universes get from each other; hence, the term variants. As the Multiverse is countless copies of itself, all the universes inside it rhyme, which is why we keep seeing familiar faces, companies, jobs, etc. in the Multiverse. Whatever happens in one universe has to happen in countless others. Okay, now back to Jessica Drew loving someone else before. Her husband very likely isn't her first love, but the one she was always destined to be with. Spider-Man Variants have the same Canon Events, which you'll see later, though we don't get to see all of them we know what they are because we've seen all of Spider-Man's important movies in movies and comics. 1) Spider-Man always gets bitten by a radioactive spider in his teens 2) Spider-Man always loses a parent figure 3) Spider-Man always loses his first love 4) Spider-Man always gets betrayed by his best friend 5) Spider-Man always loses a police captain close to him 6) Spider-Man always falls for Mary Jane, and their relationship always works out Gwen isn't always Spider-Man's first love, but she is always Peter Parker's first love. We don't know who Jessica's first love was, but it's not really important in this story, though her first love likely died--she didn't really want to talk about it as her change in tone showed. Gwen, having been to several universes saw the fate of her variants, and you know, it must have been crushing to know that you are the only variant that gets to live a full life ='( She knew every variant of herself never had a happy ending, yet she still did everything she could to make life better for everyone else. Her struggles are a Spider-Man Variant's struggle. Spider-Man never had it easy, and even though life was always finding ways to knock him down, Spider-Man always found the will to get back up. Miles and Gwen hit it off in the same way Peter and Gwen did, they are both equally intelligent, similar in age, and they even attend the same school, Visions Academy. This variant of Gwen is special in more ways than one, did you catch the name of her band? They are called the Mary Janes! Gwen Stacy is also a Mary Jane, and she is both of those people for Universe 1610 Miles Morales =) Into the Spider-Verse showed us Miles' first two Canon Events as a Spider-Man Variant. Across the Spider-Verse shows us Miles' third and fourth Canon Events as a Spider-Man Variant--Gwen opens with her explaining what she's done to Miles. Beyond the Spider-Verse will deal with the fifth and sixth Canon Events and I cannot wait to see how they do it. This team is killing it! 20:55 Have you noticed that the Spot doesn't glitch? I think we're going to see this story label him as a Nexus Being in the coming stories. This is too soon to ask in this story (maybe), but have you also noticed that he doesn't have any variants! Everyone in the Spider Society is looking for the same guy, which is quite different from all of the other Spider-Man villain variants the others have been hunting down in numerous other universes! Why is that? Universe in the Multiverse rhyme, so why is it that only one spot is causing so much trouble? Probably because there is only one of him. We met another person like the Spot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and coincidentally, she too had the ability to travel across the Multiverse without consequences to herself. America Chavez told Doctor Strange in Multiverse of Madness that she has no Variant. Nexus beings have the ability to change realities, and that's what Wanda tried to do in Multiverse of Madness and what the Spot is trying to do here now. The Spot is a Multiversal threat. What's he going to do once he settles his score with Spider-Man? His family and coworkers mocked him too. He's not going to stop, but keep ramping up. He needs to be stopped. The Spot has the ability to cause Multiple Incursions, destroying countless universes if he wanted, and I don't think he's realized that yet. Nice reaction! Keep'em comin'!
