Not sure why everyone is killing this guy. This is the beauty of garage sales. People rip themselves off with their ignorance. With the internet it would take 20 mins for this lady to educate herself & try to figure out what she has. He didnt put a gun to her head. She didnt know what she has she wants to get rid of it & he gets a steal. Everyone wins

Business is business, we all have our own ethics. You're 100% wrong here in my opinion. People do this shit to kids and people in need all the time. They even have the audacity to lowball a goldmine to boot. If I see a seller that don't know what they have, I let them know. I've made awesome relationships as a result. Don't be a rat.

I’m all for finding a deal, but I agree with a prior comment about having a little integrity when dealing with certain people, especially old ladies. The internet has all but ruined Pawn Shops, Antique Stores, and certainly Garage Sales. If you find something crazy good, read the room my guy. Two old ladies selling so much from passed loved ones is hard enough. To stand there with a clear conscience and knowingly ripping them off is pretty low in my book. To each his own, but I would have advised them on what they had and how they could make some real money for themselves, which they seemed to need. I don’t have me heals in the ground on this, just have a little different angle on it. Great finds and good luck. It was cool watching you go thru them.
@vintagesportflips5 ай бұрын
You would have a point if I had opened this box and knew what was inside - I assumed it would be commons - they still would be a great buy at $3 but I didn’t expect rookies or stars and was quite surprised. If you watch my channel I have paid sellers more than asking or have given them more money after a purchase when I realized it was better than expected. I would do the same in this situation if they reached out to me (I gave them my info but I don’t have theirs)
@TheRoadDawg5 ай бұрын
@@vintagesportflips I agree, that’s why I said I didn’t have my heels buried deep on the issue. I clearly understand you need to make a living and this is a cool way to do so. The art of finding a deal is very rewarding. I re-read my comment and prolly came down too hard at first, but should have Re-written. I don’t begrudge what you do, just thought you saw them and slipped them thru the cracks…my bad. They clearly tried to over-price the jackets also, so that’s where the internet can be a bad thing, especially for those that don’t understand how finite details can be super-relevant. Earlier this year I bought 800 near mint 1969-76 Topps baseball at a garage sale. Paid $20, which was the asking price. Lots of stars including several Aaron, Rose, Ryan etc. Should I flagelate myself for knowing the value of the cards? Not going to happen. It's usually the other way - people have cards and books marked way more than they are worth and they are still sitting there in the closing hours of a three-day sale. Then they mark them down 75 percent off. But the buyers who might have been interested earlier at a fair price are already long gone.

@vintagesportflips and then the right thing to do would be to go back to those people and give them at least 10% of what you're going to make off of them.
@snerdterguson6 ай бұрын
Would he be entitled to a refund if he had gotten less than he paid? It is absurd to say people have to give back some of their profit of of reselling things. If you're selling something, research it. It is on the seller to price their items where they should be.

@@vintagesportflips I'm a grader for SGC and I have graded over 33,000 cards and items. I was the one that graded the Babe Ruth that sold for $7.200,000 and I graded the Mickey Mantle that sold for $12,500,000 in 2022. I wanted it for my PC. I had it in the past. I am slowly trying to get my cards that were stolen. I had 2,000,000 baseball ⚾️ 1,000,000 football 500,000 basketball 🏀 200,000 hockey 🏒 cards and 30,000 comic books 📚I do have all 3 autographs on my 80 Topps basketball 🏀 it took 4 years to get all 3 on it. That would be around $110,000.00 if you got all 10's. $75,000stickers, $35,000 cards. All 9's would still be $30,000 $27,000 stickers and $3,300 cards. I'll gladly relieve you of ab Isiah rookie card and a Kareem sticker. Lol you will still have 3 Isiah thomas and 1 kareem sticker. That was an unbelievable Pic. The whole reason you go to yardsales is in hopes of finding good deals. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for what you paid. You spent your time and struck gold. Some people are so miserable and can't stand when something good happens to someone else. Good find man! Happy for you, and hope you do well on them.
