Those clips of you with your first class were PRECIOUS! They reminded me of first watching your videos in 2018 (my 2nd year of teaching). While every teacher is talented in their own way, I hope you know that you were NOT a normal first year teacher....and you're still not a normal teacher. You're *that teacher* every kid you have will remember fondly and be touched by. It's hard to wrap my head around how incredible of an educator you were in your first year of teacher vlogs (when I didn't think your advice/creativity/ideas could get any better). I can't imagine what you'll be like in even five years. You have the highest quality teaching content, the biggest heart, and the most efficient (and creative) ideas. Watching your videos reminds me that you are *in the thick* of it all right along with us. I can't begin to tell you how much you've influenced the growth of my class through your content. After buying Secret Stories and Rime Magic (per your recommendations), almost half of my first graders this year have gone from a 3 to a 24 (or higher). YOU helped me do that!! As long as you're on this platform, I will recommend you to every teacher I know who needs inspiration

Another piece of advice...connect with other student teachers. Especially bc more people are going to school online and don't have that connection. You need someone to talk to that is in the same boat at the same time as you!

You have an incredible amount of practical advice! I really like how you talked about every year being different. I am in my 6th year of teaching. Two of those years (my first and my third year teaching) were so, so hard. My first year was so terrible that I almost resigned. My third year was so bad that I started having panic attacks. Not good memories... but something kept me going. Holding on through the hard years got me to other years that I LOVED. I love my current class so much (even with behaviors) that I am dreading the end of the year. 💗💗Thank you for your videos. There are many evenings when I feel overwhelmed and exhausted, and then I watch you and get energized and excited to keep going!

+Mrs. Call's Campers Mayleen , Let me put it like this . Even in student teaching , No teacher ( repeat , NO TEACHER ) should ever be placed into a hostile school environment . If they are that hostile to where you cannot teach then it's time to talk to your professor about being placed in a school environment where you can teach that's not hostile . Yes , kids will be kids but not hostile towards you to where they are totally unteachable and uncontrollable . With that I hope that your new school in Vegas does social emotional learning because there has got to be something in our schools that matters more and that should be addressed and taught more in the classrooms than just reading , writing and arithmetic all the time . You are really an awesome teacher and I do hope that this new school really is as Princess Tiana would say " the Bee's Knees " for you and who teaches based on real student needs and not just what someone else says the student needs are . - Dwight

Hi, I’m not even a student teaching but am seriously considering a career change to teaching. I found your channel via a comment you made on RealRap with Reynolds and I have to say, you are amazing! I love that your data driven and super efficient and I’m all about literacy too. That’s what’s drawing me to teaching. Currently a translator but would love to put them skills to use in the classroom. Much love from Galway, Ireland.

Not trying to ask creepy questions, but I live in Tennessee. Did you happen to attend Middle Tennessee State University? That is where I am completing my teaching degree. I am so excited.
