MY BIG CHOP ▸ 21 Months Post Relaxer

(I start the process at 1:12 if you want to skip the rambling.) After 21 months of growing out my relaxed ends, I have finally decided to part ways with them. I initially wanted to wait until the 24 month mark, but what difference does 3 months make, right?! My hair was uneven & damaged, and I felt it was getting worse and worse the longer I transitioned. So I did what was best for me in that moment! I hope this encourages someone who's transitioning that patience is hard but doable! And I also hope this encourages someone who wants to do the big chop that it's just hair & it will grow back better than before. :)

Whether you wear your hair relaxed, natural, weave, or braids, we are all beautiful. Just remember that, I'm relaxed and I wanna become natural bc I miss my beautiful curls. But I just don't like all of the bashing relaxed haired girls get just bc they relax their hair. Just bc you relax your hair or wear weaves doesn't mean you don't love yourself. I was so scared to get my first weave bc I didn't want anyone thinking I didn't love my hair...but I wanted to give my hair a break and still look bomb asf 😻 lol so I got a weave, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just love yourself girls, no matter what race you are you are all beautiful 💘

It is no one's business as to what we do to our hair, whether natural, relaxed, weave or wigs; long, short or anything in between. I have done them all and did not care what people said or thought. As you stated we are all beautiful regardless.

That's exactly what I do! I transitioned for 22 months and tried to wait for that two year mark as well.. Ended up just cutting those ends early with no regrets! It grows so much faster when you cut rose relaxed ends!!

Loving your hair and the color. When I big chopped a year and two months ago ( after transitioning for 17 months) it has been the best for me too. I been going almost three years and no heat. I love to hear women who big chopped, especially when their journey has consist of no heat. I plan to flat iron but probably in another year. That's the itch I will love to overcome but I keep watching all the natural curly to flat iron hair videos. Anyway, keep up the great work.

It came out great! I'm about 6 months away from big chopping and everyday I want to chop it off. While recording my wash day video I had to take my scissors out the restroom. Long term transitioning isn't easy.

Also while I was transitioning I found that doing a diy protein treatment (eggs,oil, and conditioner of your choice) worked really well 4 my curls nd reverting them bak.
