I was worried for you feeling a need for the yearly flip through. But you did a great job getting through it. I personally love that you give us "permission" by example that some days or weeks it is OK to skip filling out our planners. Sometimes planning is therapeutic and sometimes just withdrawing is what we need. Of course, we can't stay only in that place. I try to remember the sun is always shining, we just don't always see it. Thank you for being our mentor.

But I’m proud of you for showing that coping with tremendous loss and extremely busy times may affect how we plan. I can’t believe someone said that…my goal last year was to decorate majority of my planner last year, not even write much in it. And I succeeded except for the month I had cov. Things aren’t always linear. Just bc it’s not filled out doesn’t mean you aren’t passionate about it.

Whether as functional or a hobby no one is ever 100% daily unless they are a robot. Loss of a loved one is a tremendous hit. Takes a very long time to recoup and get on with life. Love your spreads, love the BIG:)

Watching this was very inspiring, sometimes I don't know how to decorate or use my planner. Some weeks I'm busy others not so much lol. I like decorative and functional and sometimes just decorative. I'm sorry for the loss of your son, I'm glad you took time for yourself to grieve. I didn’t do that when my mother passed and wish I had. My husband had a work related accident that changed our lives for ever at the same time I wish I had a planner back then lol. Thanks for all your creative spreads they are all beautiful.

I can’t believe someone said that😔 no one writes in their planner 100% one hundred percent of the time. Also, everyone goes thru peaks and valleys of interest, even if it’s the most interesting thing for them. I love your spreads, written in or no, so this flip thru gave me life❤️ Also, I did my first black and white spread this week… I hate it! Sadly! I love black & white in every other aspect of life but … I love using different colored pens in colors within the spread when I write in my planners and with black & white…. I love seeing your “after the pen” spreads. You are so creative with your lettering! The Bumble spread was my favorite ❤️ It’s ok to not fill out your planner when you are not feeling up to it, or when you are going through a difficult time in life. I’ve dropped my planner for months when life got hard. But when you are ready, you do come back to it again. And you feel the joy of planning all over. Reminds us why we do this to begin with. Loved your flip through. Your spreads are beautiful. I get how you feel when losing a loved one. When my mom passed I tried to add things in my planner but it was so hard so not much was put there. Also there has been times were I skipped several weeks because things got busy or my emotions were running high. I agree with you that it is ok. I cannot believe someone actually told you to find something else to do. People can be heartless at times. The most important thing is you taking care of you.

I’ve been trying to keep busy with my planner being that I’m new to happy planning. It has been a great distraction. As I’m watching I see blank pages and hearing you share your tragedy.I just buried my 20 year old daughter a few days ago and I’m a mess.I felt guilty for even trying to attempt anything with the word happy in it let alone color and affirmations. About the person who commented that you should do something else if you’re not filling out your planner every week and feeling consistently passionate about doing so - paraphrasing here - It sounds like that person is unhappy in their own life and choices and that they’re, unfortunately, expressing their own bitterness by criticizing others. I hope they find peace in their lives so they don’t continue to do so. In any case, I sorry they chose to take that out on you, and I hope that though it must have been painful to read, you won’t take it personally! Great video! I haven’t finished watching the video yet, but just got to the part where you mention that recently someone made a “ helpful” (my quotations :P) remark about how if you aren’t going to use your planner than maybe you should find another hobby….and then I got mad on your behalf and wanted to comment :) I know you already know this, but one of the things I appreciate SO much about your videos is that you give people an example of how to enjoy creating and planning but also how to actually be flexible and live your life and embody the things you aspire to and talk about. Perhaps for some people it works to have a rigid relationship with time and scheduling, but for others that kind of self pressure (or, ahem, pressure from others…) is unhealthy and would just lead to hating your planner. For me planning is all about finding the right balance of functional scheduling and tracking that supports my intentions for my life (rather than having it turn into just another way I’m not keeping up etc) combined with the fun of being creative. Anyway, I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of others who think you are fabulous and that however you decide to do this is exactly how you should ;)

It would be great to see you do a neutral page that is set up as close as possible to a colorful page. I think the main difference is less use of images in the neutral designs, which makes it cleaner. You have basic elements that keep the spreads consistent.
