🇺🇦 What a fantastic job you have made of the turntable. Love all the sidings from it. I've found I've had success with copydex, think its because I like the smell as well. Brilliant job buddy. DELPH JUNCTION

Hi Andy, the double sided tape was a good solution in the end. It’s a lovely turntable and looks to work really well. I like what you’ve done with the airbrush, I have one, unused so far, I watch a channel called Boomer Diorama’s, he is a professional modeller building a lovely model railway. Anyway, he uses an airbrush but waters down the paint a lot with isopropyl alcohol, which helps apparently with the flow and helps a lot with cleaning, might be worth a look if you don’t already watch his channel. Looking forward to the next episode, I’m off to GETS, in a couple of weeks, if you’re going let me know and perhaps we can meet up. Cheers for now, John

Thanks very much. I’ll check out his channel - any help with airbrushing is most welcome! Using isopropyl alcohol sounds like a great idea. Gutted about GETS, I can’t make it this year - enjoy! 👍

I had one of those Walthers turntables in my old layout, and loved it. The improvements you have made to yours are fantastic! You have some artist genes, obviously! (I wish I had known about those cobblestone surrounds.) Maine, USA

Thanks very much. I am pleased with the cobblestone surrounds. Not sure about my artistry skills though!! 👍

As the producer of these turntable surrounds it was great to see someone else use them exactly how they were intended. Copydex seems like a good idea as already suggested. Thanks for showcasing the product in such a nice video. Regards Geoff, Scenic3D/Jumble Lane

Thank you very much. I have to say the surrounds are excellent- they do bring the turntable to life. 👍

You could try copydex glue if the double sided tape doesn’t work. Being a latex based glue you’ll be able to lift the cobblestones very easily. Great video, keep them coming! 👍😊

You should hit it in a few spots with some of the yard grime paint. That pit would be full of small bits that would not effect the use of the table. Rail spikes. Tie plates. Lost bits of coal and broken wood bits

Thanks for the ideas. I’ll definitely make some additions to the pit 👍

That looks awesome. Just a tip, you'd get much better control with the airbrush if you used your first finger instead of your thumb. Can take a while to get used to but makes a huge difference :)

Hi. Thanks for that. I’ll give it a try 👍

When using the airbrush, which pressure are you using? Remember that the paint should have a consistency as milk (some prefer buttermilk). Thinning it down using water or IPA is a valid option
@Grandadstrainroom-pn3tt Жыл бұрын
Thanks. It’s a very basic airbrush compressor with just 3 settings so I’ve been going for the middle one. I’ll try using IPA next time 👍

Very nice. And I see a well done from @jumbleLane that's got be good to see. Always pays to ask at your local shops they often know what works best for things like plastic on plastic. The Model shops and MRC's will also have second opinions.
