You’ve definitely checked ☑️ that goal to inspire & encourage us 🙏🏻. Every time I see an artist’s complete sketchbook I really feel like I would love to do that. However, it never seems to reach the finish line due to so many mediums I like to explore. So there’s a sketchbook for watercolor, one for color pencils, one for markers, one for gouache, one for graphite, acrylic panels, etc. With that said, thank you for being so genuine with your art and process. I’m left here in a very positive note 🥰.

Aw Mira, I loved this! My sketchbook is a place to create ideas, thumbnail and also make finished pictures. Sometimes I just test new supplies or colours to see if my mix or palette works well together. I love seeing other artists who have theirs as working books rather than every page being a finished piece (however, that is an art form in itself!)

Your 100 eyes page inspired me to make a page of eyes too. I decided not to set an amount so I can just come back and draw some eyes if I feel inspired to do so, am struggling with an eye concept, or just find an eye I really want to draw. I also watch a LOT of mystery related stuff on KZbin and found that true crime channels like to do a lot of closeups of eyes. I have screenshot a bunch of them and kept them as references for later to put on my eyes page. I'm most interested in the different shines. I'm learning that the shines take the shape of what's reflected in them more so than the lightsource. Or rather, everything around the images the person can see. Anyway, I've been really inspired by it so thank you!

She would say something like "This is one of my favorite pieces in this sketchbook". Which is totally fine! All of the ones that were shown were very good. I really liked the "Leave your worries in the waves" And yes Mira, you accomplished your goal of encouraging us and all of your viewers! You are so kind and inspiring! =)

I just recently finished what I consider my first full sketchbook and I feel so good flipping through it seeing all the different things I was interested in whether medium wise or subject wise. I spent almost two years in that sketchbook so it is really interesting to look at the beginning compared the the end

Oh man, I would LOVE to play D&D with you ^-^. My fiance is also a DM too (like your hubby) and I also like to doodle during D&D. I have drawn some 9f my characters in the past but I've only recently gotten to a level of quality in my art that I am genuinely happy with what I draw. I have a bunch of sketchbooks that I use for different things. I have a doodle sketchbook, a practice sketchbook, a regular sketchbook, and a tan toned sketchbook. I also have a book dedicated to a series I started last year called "Christmas Princesses" which is a prompt challenge that carries over from year to year. So you do as muh as you can one year, and pick it back up the next December. There are 30 prompts so far and I plan to come up with another 30 for anyone who may have done the first 30. It's suppossd to be low stress, and the finished piece is supposed to be fully done and something you would display or sell or just, something you feel is complete. The point was to help people make a cohesive body of work they could use in a portfolio in the future if they ever want or need to. For kids wanting to get into art schools in the future, it helps them get an idea of how to make a portfolio before they need to do it for realsies in High School.

Is it weird for me that I try to find MY eyes on your 100 eyes page? Or normal? Love your waves one too. I need to try more of your ideas. I don't feel like I got anything done this year, I tried to start a bujo again like I did in2020 for the 1st time, but it went wrong and never got off the ground . I don't think I can create it on my own without help. I used to use a regular planner with the dates already in there. So I think I've found one that is pre-done with some art that I can color in, plus some blank pages so I might do that for 2022. I'd love to find a Sketch book COVER that can be used over and over, like a leather cover that gets more worn with use. And adjustable for different sizes, like the one you have with that flap thing, could be wider or narrower as long as the height was the same. Just have a cord or something holding the sketchbook in there and swap it out for a new one.
@TheManyThings3 жыл бұрын
It seems like it would’ve been a good idea to have a separate sketch book for Dungeons and Dragons if it’s important that it stays in one book. I try not to do that anymore (have a different book for everything) because I used to end up with 30 books with one page used. But you don’t seem like you’d have that problem, you’re very practical and productive.
@TheManyThings3 жыл бұрын
You could photocopy your DND pages and put them somewhere new so that you have access to all of them in one place without messing up older sketchbooks by taking them out or anything.
@MiraByler3 жыл бұрын
I definitely prefer one book at a time! It stresses me out having multiple sketchbooks going haha. But I’m happy with where my DND stuff is currently at. :)

Hullo Miranda! Such a wonderful flip through of your sketchbook! I do not currently have a go to sketchbook, other than the Plumchester that I purchased for InkTober that I was not able to complete. I still have the sample set of Denise’s Earth Friendly Watercolor Paints! I did offer to send them to you but you did not want to do Anything until after you moved, do you still want to try them? Maybe if others comment that they want to see you try them out? You can always purchase your own set they are very reasonable for professional grade watercolor paints! DaVinci Paints are as good or better than Dan Smith and they have an added bonus of not needing to LIE to their customers about the pigments used in their paints either! Please let me know, AND IF ANYONE reads this comment let Mira know what you think about DaVinci’s Earth Friendly Paints! Curated by Denise Soden!

I find that makers bleed through the pages of my sketch book so I usually only tend to do one side of the page to compensate for that - it's better to have 'clean' artwork than having it ruined by bleed through if you draw on both sides.
@recoveringsoul7553 жыл бұрын
Or you can glue something to the backside, like do a collage, or, somehow use the bleedthrough in another sketch (but not more markers)
