My BIGGEST Agate Ever & a RARE Find!

Welcome to another video!
Today I'd like to show you the biggest agate I've ever found, along with another chalcedony/carnelian mix I found along with it!
I unfortunately wasn't making video's at the time yet, so I didn't get to show it, it's time to change that.
And on one of my first trips I found a very unusual piece of petrified wood, with the darkest red carnelian running through it.

4:15 thats an agate, buckskin carnelian agate. For some odd reason some carnelian, especially redder pieces, gets what is called buckskin, that brownish yellow layer. Thatd a good example, those are just normal bands! Cool little one Also, that first one is neat, love when the fractures oxidize more than the rest, giving those colored lines.

That’s what I was thinking. This is an agate! You can see the banding too! Very cool agate!

the last one it a banded agate, not a pet wood. you should polish it to reveal the band. the yellow color on it it is called lemonite stain.

You might be right, it could be banding. It looks a lot like where a branch would attach, hence me thinking it's agatized pet wood. Polishing it would clarify the mystery lol. Thank you for your input!

Do only agates have banding???

Yeah it's considered an agate if it has banding, otherwise it's either chalcedony if it's white, or carnelian if it's red/orange/yellow.

Wow that white one with orange banding is beautiful and looks like a huge hunk of candy. Great find! Have you thought about tumbling these?

Thank you very much! Yeah I would like to tumble some of them, I think the swirls on that white and orange one is quite superficial though so I'd probably leave that one the way it is.
