Fishing 🎣 is fishing. It don't matter how big or how small unless you are going for what you will harvest and eat. Here in Cherokee NC the tiny speckled is our delicacy over the big rainbows and browns. Because you can cook a speckled whole the taste is incredible when you know how and there are secrets in cooking that the elders will give you a hundred dollars a gallon for them back when I was a kid. You would have made a killing and had the money to buy your first car when you got your driver's license. Just thinking out loud. Love this video Jon. And always tight lines

I always enjoy your videos even though I will never fish Eastern waters. I always learn something. As for music, I am doing a live program on the science of sound and music on 3/14. Today I was pondering why the sounds of a wild creeks running water qualify as music to my ears. I love the sounds of where you are rather than something (no matter how good the tuneage) that isn't produced by water tumbling over rocks.

Dude i feel your pain. About a year ago working on the road traveling i found your videos .. i was traveling The east coast for work and found my self staying in camp grounds instead of hotels. I vowed to return to the fishing spots i had found with the gear. I was back at a pond in a small camp ground with my rv in a pond i wash sure had some monsters. I had seen the movements and the large shadow shapes i rigged the fly rod and cast out on a rainy crap day. The large shape appeared out of no where and sampled my popper fly .. I panicked and yanked the entire rigged into a scrub pine. Game over . It took me a 1/2 hour to recover from that sh##t show. I never saw it again. It was a carp the size of the end of a canoe paddle. I was so pissed even though it would have spooled me in a heart beat on my #4 fly rod. The thrill would have been worth it to see if i could have turned it .

Hello brother, if you don't eat the fish you catch, if you keep them and leave them, are they not eaten where you live? Why are you harming the fish😊
@SalvainHD8 ай бұрын
I hope this message allows for a larger depth of knowledge. Typically fly fishermen including myself have a higher respect for wild or native trout. Most fly fishermen catch and release for sport. The fish are not being harmed nor do trout feel pain the same as we humans do. he is taking every precaution necessary when handing the fish. As keeping native trout populations healthy are of upmost concern.
