My biggest fish yet with Jetskifishing

My first solo fishing session on the new 2021 Sea-Doo FISH PRO and I hooked up on my new personal best Kingfish.
After catching many 20 pound Snapper and Monster over 30 pound in recent years, the target of a monster Kingfish had been elusive for me with 19.85kg being my heaviest of late
This fish was the one I was after, right on the limit of what I can handle solo for my adventures, a massive length, topping out at 1335mm!
Fights like this require everything to be on your A game, knots need to hold, gear needs to be strong, you need to avoid being reefed, the fish needs to be out of the water before the sharks come and you have to land the fish without it breaking free.

Lucas Rigg amazing stability, there was also a catch already in the left hand footwell while this fight was happening. I figured the new Sea-Doo coloured vest might be a nice colour match, there has been lots of comments about my new Sea-Doo footwear LOL

You are right, typically the fish are very green and active when seeing the watercraft, they will normally do another strong run at that stage. I was very fortunate on this catch that everything fell in to place with such a big catch 👍

Few Kingfish that size actually make it to the boat let alone a ski. Awesome job Andrew! You guys in NZ are blessed with a great fishery. The Seadoo looks good and seemed fairly stable considering the size of the fish and your side saddle seating position. I'm on a 2020 Yamaha Waverunner FXHO (which are supposed to be more stable) and even that's not stable with an esky on the back. Getting some jet ski collars to sort out the issue.

Thanks for watching Paul, the urgency was there as I was mindful it could be sharped! We are really fortunate to have a great fishery, if we do the miles we get the smiles 😀 The FISH PRO has great stability, especially at rest with its low centre of gravity, I even had fish in the left footwell during this battle and it still coped well with all its weight in one side. If you get a chance seatrial a Sea-Doo FISH PRO, you would be very impressed with how well the perform off shore and it makes it easy with it all rigged to go for fishing.

That was inspiring. I pick my Fish Pro up in May/June when it arrives. Quick question, bunch a people have said to me that a PWC is bad on the back. Do you find that your back is sore after fishing in the ocean? It’s not going to deter me. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a very long time.

The FISH PRO is a very stable platform and the convenience of being able to beach launch it at this remote location made this catch possible. Check out some of my other videos, the sport is much more practical than what you have watched with such a big catch!
